Those wanting to use Kittredge Park -- specifically next to Bear Creek -- are being asked to go to a nearby park instead to play on the creek bank. The new owner is concerned about liability if someone gets hurt while playing in or along the creek and about how the property is being overused. "We want to restore it and prioritize the land's long-term needs over the short-term needs," Romero said in September. "The land cannot handle the traffic. It's being destroyed. We want shared accountability." People have trails all over her property and no one showed up for "cleanup day"... "Take only memories, leave only footprints." Town survey and homeowner survey say same thing she owns the land on both sides. Law and order is not about feelings or belief's. Also this park has other access on park property but they fenced it off. Why try to illegally take someone's land that they paid for when you have another access point? Another big question is, Why didn't the town buy that piece of the property when it went up for sale instead of assuming the new owner would want the whole town leaving garbage on their land?

Even though many on AllTrails said the trail was fine within the past few days, it was clearly iced over today. No worries, as we had our spikes with us. Well, one worry, as one of my wife's spikes decided to sabotage our day and start to tear. After fighting with it for 30 mins or so, we abandoned our attempts to continue on the trail. Other than today, the Evergreen Mountain Trail is one of our favorites in Colorado. The views from the top are amazing. I can't recommend it enough; however, if you're going this time of year, take your spikes...you'll need them.

There are two sections to it. The larger one has wood chips in it, and the smaller one has sand. The larger section has a large play structure with numerous slides on it. There are two regular swings and two small swings. The smaller side has a boat, a couple of rockers and a sand tractor thingy. While we were there, a lot of kids took their socks and shoes off to play in the sand. The area looked pretty clean, so this wasn't a cause for freaking out. There were about 5-15 kids playing at any given time, with some coming and going pretty often. There were moms and grandparents there, and they all seemed friendly and approachable. There is a large shelter next to the large playground. There are numerous picnic tables underneath, as well as two or three which are not under the shelter. When we visited, there were a ton of parking spaces in the parking lot, although I can see the lot filling up when there's a baseball or football game going on. In all, this is a nice and well maintained park.
