A walk in the park. Wanting to see the beauty of Colorado, Sammy took us to Evergreen Lake for an afternoon walk. What we didn't anticipate was this place being a hotspot for local residents and tourists to check out (not that we weren't also lumped into those categories). By some stroke of luck, Sammy scoped out a parking spot and we got to experience something more than a walk around a lake. We headed towards the main house and there was a bunch of people milling about due to being pulled out of the water due to potential lightning strikes. On top of that, the house on the lake was closed for a special event. That may explain the amount of people in the park. Anywho, we were there for a walk and that's what we headed out to do. The trail around the lake is 1.25 miles and every step was just breathtaking scenery after breathtaking scenery. At about the halfway point, we started to head into an area with a bridge and a waterfall. This place was extra breathtaking due to the waterfall being an unexpected welcome on a lake. As we headed further on the trail, we heard music and decided to investigate. We wound up at a bar called Cactus Jack's Saloon & Grill. I don't plan on reviewing that place but we did stop in for a few beers and some of the most delicious nachos I had in a long time. While we sat, there was a lovely creek running along the bar that made sitting outside a preferred place than inside. Once we got done eating, we hit the rest of the trail and it's just more and more of beautiful views and lush greenery. I could've gone for another stroll around the trail/lake if time allowed but we had a beer festival to attend later this day so we hit the road again to prepare for that. I've done a lot of outdoors stuff and seen a lot of what mother nature has to offer but it never gets old taking in her beauty. If you've never experienced Colorado or the moutains... do yourself a favor and add it to your Bucket List.

Loved it! The park by lake house has a parking lot and then you can walk either side. The only bummer is that there's a disconnect and you have to walk a part in the street.

Pretty trail around the lake! It was a easy and pleasant walk. We got to see the lake and views from all sides and the walk into town was nice too! Highly recommend!

I was excited to walk around the lake one night when we returned early from dinner in Boulder only to find that half the trail is closed down and blocked off now for some improvements to it. The trail is very pretty otherwise but the main parts of it are closed off.

This is a scenic, peaceful lake that makes for a gorgeous stop on a fun drive from Morrison, CO up through a curvy road that reaches Evergreen, CO (where you'll see the lake trail on the left side after you pass the "downtown" area). You can resume your loop trip by driving north toward I-70, which will bring you east to Denver. If you're in Denver for a business trip and do not have enough time to explore the wilderness areas of Colorado, this short loop drive will give you a taste of natural splendor less than 1 hour from Denver.

For me it is one of the best trail I ever been. Every morning we'd go there and it has the perfect view of the lake, mountains & lake house. When you are lucky you may encounter wild animals as well which I had many times. The only bathroom is only the one at the lake though.

Those wanting to use Kittredge Park -- specifically next to Bear Creek -- are being asked to go to a nearby park instead to play on the creek bank. The new owner is concerned about liability if someone gets hurt while playing in or along the creek and about how the property is being overused. "We want to restore it and prioritize the land's long-term needs over the short-term needs," Romero said in September. "The land cannot handle the traffic. It's being destroyed. We want shared accountability." People have trails all over her property and no one showed up for "cleanup day"... "Take only memories, leave only footprints." Town survey and homeowner survey say same thing she owns the land on both sides. Law and order is not about feelings or belief's. Also this park has other access on park property but they fenced it off. Why try to illegally take someone's land that they paid for when you have another access point? Another big question is, Why didn't the town buy that piece of the property when it went up for sale instead of assuming the new owner would want the whole town leaving garbage on their land?

The fence isn't too easy to see unless you're right on top of it. Anyway, Tanglewood Park has a nice sized field and a baseball diamond next to the play area. The playground is nice. There are two sections to it. The larger one has wood chips in it, and the smaller one has sand. The larger section has a large play structure with numerous slides on it. There are two regular swings and two small swings. The smaller side has a boat, a couple of rockers and a sand tractor thingy. While we were there, a lot of kids took their socks and shoes off to play in the sand. The area looked pretty clean, so this wasn't a cause for freaking out. There were about 5-15 kids playing at any given time, with some coming and going pretty often. There were moms and grandparents there, and they all seemed friendly and approachable. There is a large shelter next to the large playground. There are numerous picnic tables underneath, as well as two or three which are not under the shelter. When we visited, there were a ton of parking spaces in the parking lot, although I can see the lot filling up when there's a baseball or football game going on. In all, this is a nice and well maintained park.
