You could tell that…read moreeveryone knew we weren't local by some of the glares from patrons we received, but were warmly welcomed by the staff. We were quickly greeted and offered drinks, though my unhealthy obsession with Diet Pepsi could not be fulfilled here...they don't carry it (only Pepsi zero). It seems that most soft drinks are bottled only, which is fine but unexpected. We ordered waters, which were quite delicious and nicely iced. I ordered the huevos con chorizo, that comes with "Mexican " potatoes and refried beans. I received my meal pretty quickly. The downside? It took another 4 minutes before my husband's meal arrived. My eggs were perfectly cooked and the beans seemed very homemade. They had an enticing texture and taste. The potatoes were a great addition, with a nice pan roasted flavor. The meal comes with 3 corn or flour tortillas. Everything was piping hot. I loved every bite of my meal. Once my husband received his meal, he loved the flavor of his burrito as well, especially the rice, beans and nicely toasted tortilla. The menu has all prices blacked out so it's hard to gauge cost for a meal. For the quality of food, I found our meals priced accordingly...though I would have loved better soda choices. Regardless, the food was made well, though table meal service could have been timed better.

($7 for 2tacos) When we picked up our food and got home we ONLY received two tacos.. so that's annoying.. but our fault for not checking the tied bag we were given. Also Incase anyone didn't notice this there's a To-Go-Fee.. This was Interesting, because I've never seen this. Food was only okay this time around. Tacos were very crunchy and a little melted into the to go container, and burritos were soggy.. bummed on that. ($9 for 1Burrito)

I kind of missed the vibe of the old place though. When we arrived they tried to seat us at a little dark table on a back wall in the back. Nope, can't have it. They had plenty of tables in the bar area set but said they didn't have service in that area. We waited for a better table which only took few minutes. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful. At his suggestion we both ordered one of the Molcajete bowls. It's a lava rock bowls that comes out scorching hot and stays that way. One Molcajete Mexicano which had beef, pork, and shrimp with peppers and onions. The other was the Carne Borracha. It's beef with onions and peppers in a red sauce. They come with corn or flour tortillas. Beans and rice are the sides. We started with the table side guacamole and it was delicious. In a short time the bowls came out. It's quite a presentation. Bubbling and packed with food. Both dishes were excellent. The margaritas were good as well. They make their own juice mixes, all fresh ingredients. None of that bottled stuff. It a great place for a Mexican dinner. I took a star off for the seating issue. Otherwise it a 5 star for us.

THEIR HIBISCUS MARGARITA THO…read more.. 4.5 stars!! Seriously the best margarita I have had so far in Boise is this restaurant's hibiscus margarita. The flavor is amazing!! We came on a Saturday night and it was busy but not overly busy, which was nice. I started the evening with their regular house margarita, which was a bit too sour for my liking so our waitress suggested ordering a flavored margarita to add sweetness. I went out of the box and ordered their hibiscus margarita and WOW I'm coming back for more!! We were disappointed in their house salsa, but we did order a ceviche appetizer which was very fresh tasting. I really appreciated all the very fresh vegetables in the ceviche. My husband ordered the steak fajitas- amazing! I ordered the veggie enchiladas on flour tortillas- amazing! I appreciated how they have a side of carne asada that you can order. It was perfect for our young son who wanted steak. Our son also appreciated the Jarritos flavored sodas. Lastly, we were disappointed in the fried ice cream as it didn't have much flavor and the melted caramel it came with tasted like goat cheese. Prices were reasonable, service was good, and restaurant was nice and clean. Yes, I'll be coming back :)

A decent Selection of lunch menu offerings, I went with Chili Verde, pork in green sauce, eithucorn tortillas. We ordered chips and salsa, interesting because it's not complimentary as in so many Mexican places, is one hotter yellow sauce with pineapple, a typical medium sauce, and a mild, plus beans were ordered. The chips were gold, house made, the yellow sauce was definitely good, would probably be great on fish tacos, but the medium red was what I preferred with chips. Lunch arrived with the obligatory "hot plate" warning meaning it had bern in the oven. As always, I started by trying the rice and beans, v both were good enough I nearly finished them before even trying the Chili Verde. What was interesting here was I wanted to use the larger than average sized corn tortillas to get every bit of the verde sauce off the plate! Something, we were too busy talking to tell, was different. I don't ever remember wanting to sop all the sauce up with the tortillas before! Would I come back, yes, there is enough that looked interesting to return.
