To summarize the entire nightmare this place wanted me to sign a stipulated judgment on a lawsuit…read morefiled by one of those debt buyers (who never attempted to contact me to advise they purchased) that had been dismissed 5 days prior! That reflects the zero effort put into my representation. When I had my initial meeting with them they summarized the same exact terms of the stipulations this was even after I gave him my financial profile as I'm retired living on Social Security with no additional income with both my income and bank account exempt from garnishing or levies. I was looking for a payment plan or settlement that included dismissal of this suit. I understand the representation was limited in scope & the attorney stated more than once the $796 I paid him was nothing & other firms would cost double for this but not to the point where there was zero effort in an attempt to negotiate which by the way per the retainer does include negotiating. Regardless of the back story the end result was this firm who was supposed to be representing me and my interests to some extent was pushing me on July 7th to sign a Stipulated Judgment on a case that had been dismissed on July 2nd. That's an enormous mistake.

After years of living with the world's weight on our shoulders about our enormous tax debt, the day…read morefinally came when the IRS garnished all money owed to me from my company. Yes, they can do this, and they will. In a panic, we contacted one of the "advertised" companies, which wasted our time and money as we were just a number in a system. We have a family of 5 who desperately needed this fixed immediately. After reading fantastic reviews about Nathan Carr, who specializes in tax law, we made our appointment. We had so much fear and felt awful about our situation. Nathan assured us we were not alone, showed us a clear path forward, and used the law to bring us to the finish line. Our OIC took some time, especially b/c of COVID closing things down at the IRS. We did everything Nathan and Cynthia told us to do for two years. Nathan is a genius and won our case on appeal! We are so grateful for the professionalism, dedication, and care that Carr Law Firm showed. The IRS accepted our offer in compromise, and Nathan Carr settled it for only 4.2% of the total tax liability! Nathan Carr is the best tax lawyer in Arizona. I am so grateful we put our trust in Carr Law Firm.

1 star (only because a zero-star option is unavailable)…read more I contacted this firm seeking bankruptcy-related legal services after being advised that the initial consultation was provided at no cost. I initially declined representation; however, the firm continued to follow up and applied pressure to retain my business, including reducing the quoted filing fee. I ultimately agreed to proceed. I made several monthly payments. After changing banks, I unintentionally missed a small number of automatic debits due to failing to update my payment information. During that period, the firm sent emails and made phone calls checking on the status of my account. Once my payment information was corrected, I eventually made the decision not to proceed with filing bankruptcy, accept my debt, and pay on my own. The firm's written agreement states that a refund may be issued if a client elects not to move forward. What is not clearly disclosed is that all communications and administrative activity--including the purportedly free initial consultation--are later classified as billable. As a result, the firm asserted that all funds I had paid were consumed by fees, leaving no refund available. The engagement agreement does not clearly define what constitutes billable work or when billing begins, which I find materially misleading. After I communicated my decision to discontinue services, the firm continued attempting to retain my business rather than promptly honoring my request to terminate representation. Recommendation: Prospective clients should carefully review and seek clarification--preferably in writing--regarding what this firm considers billable activity and when charges commence. Alternatively, consider retaining a firm that provides clearer disclosures and greater transparency. I also note that in responses to negative reviews, ownership frequently alleges that such reviews are "fake," rather than substantively addressing the concerns raised. Readers may wish to consider that pattern when evaluating this firm.

If you are looking for competent bankruptcy representation, I strongly encourage you to look…read moreelsewhere. My wife and I were forced into personal bankruptcy after a business failure during the credit crisis. We retained Preston Gardner at Davis Miles to represent us during an already stressful and financially devastating period. Unfortunately, major mistakes were made in handling our case. Among the most serious issues was the failure to properly file a Motion to Compel Abandonment, which nearly resulted in us losing our home. In addition, reaffirmation agreements on an auto loan and second mortgage that we continued paying flawlessly were not properly handled, causing avoidable damage to our credit reports. The fallout from these mistakes was significant. We ultimately had to hire a different bankruptcy attorney to repair the damage and correct the problems created during the process. In total, the errors cost us approximately $30,000. Thankfully, with competent legal help, we were eventually able to protect our home and stabilize our situation. However, the experience with Davis Miles added unnecessary financial harm and stress during one of the most difficult periods of our lives. I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm to do extensive research and carefully evaluate their options before proceeding.

The representation was decent depending on the lawyer. However, I recently called regarding a property lien and I spoke to two different attorneys. They both told me to tell the title company to ignore the lien because it is not a valid lien. What law firm would think that a title company whose only job is to guarantee a clean title would just ignore a lien??? Alien is a legal issue that needs to be handled legally. When I called back a third time insisting I needed legal representation they indicated they could not help me, they refused to even refer an attorney, so I could not even hire one of their attorneys if I wanted to. Luckily I have a client who is an attorney at Goodman Law who once contacted immediately located documentation that the lien was invalid and got it removed from our title LEGALLY. Thank you Goodman Law and goodbye Legal Shield!
