I learned about Power Play Center in Hesperia through the pickleball tournament coordinator. Also my designated mixed doubles partner wanted to practice pickleball with me. Hence, I have come here a couple times now to play pickleball... I have met many nice people with different levels of play from beginners to advanced to professionals. It has been really fun. Great work out indeed. Looking forward to playing more pickleball after the tournament. I played high school tennis many blue moons ago... I have to say, pickleball is definitely a great alternative to tennis. This indoor center is actually a roller skating rink and gets transformed to pickleball courts as needed. It also has video games. They have league pickleball play on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and open pickleball play on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting from 6:00 PM until close. Subs can participate on league nights for $6.00. Open play is $5.00. Staff is friendly and pleasant. It's a great place to get some sports activity throughout the week. Come join the fun!

The staff member in charge who was using the microphone was very kind and helpful. However, the two employees distributing skates came across as rude and unapproachable. I understand that working with large groups of kids can be frustrating, but their attitude was noticeable. At one point, I even stepped in to help distribute skates because the situation felt a bit overwhelming due to their frustration. Overall, the experience was okay, but improved customer service would make a big difference.

We were supposed to go in at 3:30, we did not go in until 3:45 according to staff it was due to the previous party taking long to leave... we were the second ones to arrive but our party was the the last one to get seated and that's only because my sister asked one of the girls. Once in there everything was fine until they brought the pizza. The pizza was cold! We were never told the do not make the pizza there! The package we got came with 4 pizzas and we were told on the phone that if we needed more we could just let them know the day of but it would take a little longer. Once the pizza arrived besides being cold we realized it was from little Caesars. I don't mind the pizza being from there BUT at least make sure it's hot! The young lady who was helping us with the pizza and drinks would just take things without asking. When it was time to clean she didn't ask if people were done, she just started taking off the plastic table cover with everything still on the table and rolling it getting ready to throw everything away until we told her that there was personal stuff on there! That's just rude! You ask if people are done not just assume everything on the table is trash. Then she took the pitchers with soda without letting anyone know and people were still drinking specially when they were done skating. When it was time the security starts staring you down by your table and starts saying you need to hurry up and get all your things, my husband told him oh you guys want us to hurry but didn't mind letting us in late well now we're going to take our time. Overall this place needs a lot of improvement when it comes to organizing parties. Train your employees to always ask the people on their tables if they are done with something before throwing it away or taking it away. Sell little Caesar's pizza double/triple the price but at least make sure it's hot before serving it!

I had planned a few games and expected to struggle organizing 40+ kids, but I quickly realized I wasn't doing it alone; Kendra and her team were right there helping every step of the way. Kendra truly has the patience of a saint. She was fantastic with the kids and even wore pajamas to fully lean into the party theme, which the kids loved. I'm beyond grateful for all of their help, and the party was such a hit because of them. Safe to say this may be our new annual Christmas party spot!

Recently, two of my friends found out that I wanted to learn, so we all went out on a Sunday evening. Sundays, Skateworld closes at 8:30. We arrived at 6:30 which gave us plenty of time. Open skate and skate rental costs $25 per person. It felt a bit steep to me, but I realize that they don't make money on much else so it's really not bad. They offer lockers at a price. There is free filtered water. It was a bit odd when my friends brought me a gift bag with knee pads, that they said no gift bags of any kind were allowed. It seemed odd as I thought children had roller skating birthday parties at places like this. At least they let us take out the knee pads and carry in the empty bag. Anyway, the space wasn't too crowded on Sunday, so it was easy to practice. I also rented one of those little wheeled walkers so I didn't fall all over the place. I was a bit bummed to learn that they didn't offer lessons, outside of their monthly "academy". I would have loved to drop in for a single session. All in all, it was a pretty good time. I would return to skate again.

I reported it immediately to Gena Trepte, who was and is the manager of Skateworld and was on site the entire night. Owner Brett Stang did not permanently ban that person. The only action described to me was that we were told not to interact. I spoke with Gena Trepte (manager) twice that night, including a second conversation of about 10 minutes while the same person stood behind her mocking the situation. There is absolutely no security guard or security representative at Skateworld at any session, including adult skate nights Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Fountain Valley, Holiday Skate Center, and Cal Skate GT all have security inside and outside. A San Diego Police incident was created (26029566). I stopped going. Skateworld is NOT in the safe location and all patrons should be very cautious about attending.

The location is in a safe spot and the parking lot while not big is adequate for the amount of people that showed up for the party as well as general pop. The DJ kept giving shout outs to the birthday girl during the whole session and played music she had requested/enjoyed. I liked that they played a lot of 80s music, Michael Jackson, Forest Frank (for bday girl). No nasty or inappropriate songs/lyrics played which I appreciated sooooo much. They have both blades and 4wheel skates that can be rented. Now the place is dated but that's the vibe I'm looking for in a skating rink and if it keeps the prices down that is cool. So my only gripe is that they charge admission for non-skaters at the same price as skaters. I don't understand this, like if grandma wants to take grandkids to skate and she doesn't want to participate you're really charging her same price minus skate rental? I get that fire marshall puts a restriction on people capacity and maybe that's why they do this but honestly the business should consider making adults free or just a buck or two WITH a paid child admission and IF not skating as well. Food for thought.
