Hello, yesterday evening, around 7:15 pm, I drove to the Adams park yesterday on my way to the gym, because I had to throw away some trash and wanted to use a public trash can.
As I approached the stop sign next too Adam's Park, I saw a Maroon/Red 1980s van (not sure make and model) that was parked in a strange way; in which they were obstructing part of the street while having a clear view of the playground.
I told my boyfriend who was in the car, that's a creepy looking van. He agreed, and it was dusty and looked not well kept. When I got closer to the van I saw there were two young adults in the front seat. As soon as they saw us, they bolted and drove away.
I believe they may have mistaken my car for a police vehicle, because it is a dark navy blue Toyota Highlander, the same make and model used by the police department.
Thankfully I looked at their license plate number and wrote it down. The driver was a young woman about 18 years old or so and she had very long dark, wavy hair, that did not look clean and was frizzy. She wore a tank top and was slender and had tan skin.
The man next to her looked to be Caucasian, about 18 years to 20 years old, and had sandy brown hair and a fair complexion. When I looked at who was at the park, I saw two young adults sitting and talking at a table.
I am a professional in the community and I work with populations of victims human trafficking. I felt very strongly that the way the events folded that it was very suspicious activity. Young people lure teens and other young adults for human trafficking and we need to be aware of what is happening.
Please keep your teens and kids aware of the dangers of speaking to strangers and meeting with them in public. read more
