We were in the area and daughter decided she wanted to visit this park again. The parking lot is partially under construction as of November 2025. Other than that the park looks just as beautiful as I remember it. I swear the turtles and ducks remember my daughter and I. They swam right up to us and just hung out for the longest time. It was nice visiting again and spending time here! This park encompasses 70 acres and includes many amenities. For years it was our favorite place to watch the July 4th fireworks each year. Love this spot. La Quinta Civic Center Campus is perfect for feeding the friendly ducks, relaxing on a bench, and just people-watching. During December they decorate with festive backdrops which makes it fun for photos. We usually grab food from the store across the street and have a picnic. However the concessions for baseball never open on time, they always have a line and are very slow to serve and they are over priced My grandson concessions in vegas I get 2 all beef hotdogs, with chips, 2 drinks and a pretzel for 11.00. We were staying in Indian Wells for the week so we visited a few local parks. Civic Center Park was close to our hotel and it was a great choice for a morning activity. The park itself is quite large so we drove around before finding the best place to park. If you park near the YMCA, it isn't too far from the playground area. There was a bathroom close to the playground structures, which is always helpful with kids. I also appreciated the shade for the playground structures. There was a play area for younger kids and more challenging climbing/slides for bigger kids. There is tons of space (huge lawn areas) for kids to run around and some nice paved paths for kids to ride bikes or scooters. There were a number of families when we visited but it wasn't too crowded and it felt very safe. 5 stars all the way! read more

We are from out of town and loved this beautiful park. It's large with so many play options for kids and adults. The waterfowl were a nice distraction and we couldn't believe how much open space and grassy areas there were as well as picnic areas. Clean bathrooms and ample parking. What a treat! read more

THURSDAYS ONLY! The snack bar is amazing!! I got a cheeseburger with grilled onions, cheese fries, and a drink for only $12 bucks!! The burger was delicious with the grilled onions, and the cheese fries was smothered with nacho cheese. Something like this you would pay over $20 at any restaurant. They also have BACON WRAP STREET DOGS for I think $4.00 and they are amazing. You would easily pay over $10 bucks at some hot dog stand for the same thing. It's a big and beautiful park. I sometimes swim at the attached Palm Desert Aquatics Center which is a fantastic public pool. Great for kids! We were just here for the July 4th fireworks. We got there last minute and left a minute before the fireworks ended to avoid the masses. Pro tip: If you're here for a busy event such as July 4th. You can park in the neighborhood and take the pedestrian bridge to the park located on San Pascual Ave. The police may be blocking some roads into the neighborhood but you can find your way in read more

My husband and I went here for the Water Lantern Festival. Baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and open fields. This is a nice spot for a picnic - if the weather permits. Best park in the area. Huge space! Tons of parking, and a fair amount of shaded parking. Gorgeous grassy, shaded areas throughout. I brought a blanket and sat under a tree with my little one for about an hour. Besides the lawnmowers going around, it was quiet peaceful. Nice kids playground and bonus- there are large and well maintained restrooms adjacent so the kids don't have to go far. Sidewalks will loop around the entire park. Lots of ducks to look at with the kiddos over in the lake. Though this means that the sidewalk there has some bird poop (not good for strollers) Overall, my favorite park in Palm Desert. read more

Beautiful park! I stopped here on a Palm Springs visit from LA and was very impressed. The park had ample parking and the lawns were beautifully kept. There was a path to walk around the park, a beautiful lake with fish and ducks and cool sculptures. There is a playground and lots of picnic tables too. I also explored the Holocaust Memorial and it was really well-done. Oh, and the bathrooms weren't too bad for park restrooms. I will definitely be back here to explore the park further on my next visit. read more

I'm from out of town and love coming here to go for a run. There's winding paths that go throughout and outside the entire park, which is of a pretty good size. People here are nice and there's plenty of parking. The restrooms are also plentiful and look safe and clean. read more

I was in town for the Palm Desert Half Marathon. The start and finish lines of the race were both inside this park. From what I saw before and after the race, it was a very beautiful and well maintained park. It looked to be a very nice spot to come get in your daily exercise. There were lakes at the Southern end of the park with various types of fowl hanging around the water. read more

Man this is a nice park.. I think it's part of the Civic center in Palm Desert. There's baseball fields, tennis courts, swimming pool, water park, and even beach volleyball here! They're open early and stay open til pretty late! Beautiful place to walk around and chill with family. The parking lot is super nice. Palm trees provide lots of shade and add a great desert feeling to the park. I'm not from here, but I wish where ever I live in the future has a park as nice as this one here! read more

The other day (3/24/15) my daughters and I met my mother-in-law and my grandmother-in-law at Civic Center Park in Palm Desert. While we were there for less than an hour, I found this park to be quite peaceful and mostly clean. There were so many turtles, ducks, geese, and other feathered creatures in the nearby pond with the water fountain that my oldest daughter who is getting closer to 2-years-old screeched with joy. There is loads of parking, some spots shaded by trees and some even shaded by covered parking structures. I used the San Pablo Ave entrance. There are restrooms relatively close nearby. Some duck food receptacles are around if you have some change and want hoards of them coming at you. A few pieces of art are here too, including a man fishing and a crocodile bench (or maybe it's an alligator). This park has way more to offer that I didn't get to see or participate in, but if I lived closer or if I visit my grandmother-in-law more often then I'm definitely taking our daughters back here. Looking for a playground to entertain the 5 and 7 year old grandkids and this was it! Playground equipment was more varied than most school playgrounds and was in excellent condition. Nicely shaded location for the equipment, benches and the picnic tables. Lots of basketball courts adjacent to the playground. The kids were polite and generally well mannered waiting their turns. There are many nice parks in the Coachella area, but this one is the best. Other than several big covered playgrounds for kids, there are a skate park, tennis courts, walking trails, picnic tables, clean restrooms & many more...The aquatic center is pretty impressive. Landscape is well manicured, gardeners are hard at work in the morning. Several lakes with ducks which I'm not crazy about. When there are ducks there are poops and that sort of things so you have to be careful not to step on them. I suppose that's part of the scenery. If you are into geocaching, there are several in the park. Some are a bit hard to find because of the stealthy issue. By the way, if anyone found "Need a date in PD" let me know which lamp post please and good luck! If you are into Pokémon go, there are many stops and gyms here as well. The park has beautiful view of the mountain, one can find peace & tranquility here. Even the parking lot is very nice shaded by palm trees. OMG! I almost forgot the beautiful rose garden, many variety and colors. Trust me, you just have to check this out when you are in the area. read more

I had just recently moved near the area, and wanted to find a nice, safe park to take my pups to and I'm so happy I found Civic Center Park ! The park itself is humongous and is well kept which is awesome. I love that you can pretty much do anything here --whether its playing basketball, baseball, and volleyball, to relaxing and watching the ducks. The days I did come, I even saw people doing photoshoots which was cool too. Definitely recommend a stop here read more

Probably the most beautiful park I have ever been to. We were visiting one of the the local resorts looking for somewhere we could take our toddler so he could run and play and this park was perfect! The lawns are beautifully manicured and maintained. The jungle gyms are covered and there are lots of places to play. There is a beautiful duck pond for children to wonder and look at. Our little guy even got to check out a turtle up close and personal. He was fascinated! The holocaust memorial was breath taking as is the peace memorial. So many beautiful things to look at. All you need is a picnic lunch to bring with you and spend the day in one of the prettiest parks I've ever seen. read more

This park is EXPANSIVE. There is what seems like acres of area to explore which is why so many people come here. I used to play tournament softball here back in the day. There are baseball fields, basketball courts and trails for walking or biking. The kids have apparatus to enjoy and there are water features including fountains. If you are going to have a large family event this is the place to visit. There is a party gazebo and plenty of places for blankets and BBQ. The aquatic center is adjacent to the rear of the park which I have heard is great. We have our own pool but we will check it out for the slides when it warms up a little. My son prefers this park because there are plenty of kids to play with. A litle busy for my taste but I guess it would be really cool avoiding peak usage hours. The kids could get away from you a little easier here. read more

Civic Center Park was the first destination on our 2008 company trip to Palm Springs. Its been a while since I've actually been to a park, but this one is nice. The place is HUGE! There is tons of stuff to do here. The park consists of 4 Baseball Fields, Concession/Restroom Building , 6 Tennis Courts, 4 Volleyball Courts, 3 Basketball Courts, 5 Picnic Pavilions, Amphitheater, Skate Park, Tot Lot, a Dog Park and tons of grass to roll around in. The park also has a Holocaust Memorial and a Peace Memorial. There are ponds with turtles, ducks and swans. The picnic pavilions all have misters for those unbearably hot days. (You know there's a lot of them there!) Its a really nice park, but for the love of God will someone please turn on the air conditioner! read more
