Decided to try out Bergen on a snowy Saturday to finally try their brunch. As me and my partner love brisket we had to give it a try. It was super people but people were coming in and out. We were served with great hospitality from start to end. Accommodating my boyfriend with putting on the futbol game as we were not at the bar. Drinks were flowing and good takes a bit but expected with brisket. The food came out, I wasn't a fan of the Mac and cheese but I did like the brisket and cornbread. Not the best brisket I've had but it decently was cooked well. Overall we would come back for a chill vibe and watch some sports

I had drinks here with my friends on a Sunday. It was super fun place to go for Sunday fun day. The drinks were delicious. It's a nice neighborhood vibe.

What a great spot! Love the vibe here with the decor and the photo booth this place is a great addition to JC. I went here on a Saturday and enjoyed bbq brunch. The holy trinity was so damn delicious my stand out were the ribs, so damn good and the bark on the brisket was amazing. We also had a few drinks I had the Springsteen's Last Ride and the Hello Neighbor but were great drinks. Might sit at the bar next time and watch them at work. The staff here were so friendly, I could see myself becoming a regular if I lived closer. Overall I really enjoyed my visit and I'll stop by again soon. Cheers!

Adorable. We stopped in for a quick drink before heading to a show. They don't have a cocktail menu yet, but the bartender offered to make anything we'd like. My mojito was amazing. On the sweet side, with lots of fresh mint. We didn't eat this time, but we'll be back. I'd like to try the mac and cheese.

It was a full afternoon of food and drinks, and the kind of event where a lot of moving pieces have to come together for it to actually work. JP was the reason it worked. What stood out most wasn't the drinks. It was the kids. There were a lot of them, running around, excited, in the middle of everything. JP knew every single one of them by name before the afternoon was half over. Not in a performative way. He just made a point to learn who they were and made them feel like they belonged there as much as anyone else. He was checking in on them, getting them what they needed, keeping them engaged. Parents noticed. Everyone noticed. Beyond the kids, he was everywhere. Anticipating what people needed before they asked. Moving fast without ever seeming rushed. Making sure nobody was waiting, nobody was forgotten, and everybody was having a good time. The food, the drinks, the whole flow of the afternoon, it all ran smoothly because JP was paying attention to all of it. My sister-in-law's celebration was exactly what it was supposed to be. A big part of that is JP. If you are booking an event here, request him specifically. You will not regret it.

It's been years since hanging out here. Lots of space for big groups, and it has been busy…read moreeverytime I have been. Came for a birthday party (that was moved from a park last minute because of the rain). We were in the front room and had 3 large party platters of food. The food was tasty overall - there were 2 platters with fried chicken, jalapeño poppers, huge pretzels, fries, mozzarella sticks, celery, and a lot of sauces. There was also a platter with a bbq theme with smaller pretzels, pulled pork, sausage, kraut, cabbage, german potato salad, smoked wings/chicken, ribs, another type of meat, fries, and sauces/cheese dip. A member of the staff said the front room wasn't child friendly and a couple had to sit in the big noisy room in the back with their kid while the majority of the party was up front. Not really sure why it mattered because both rooms have bars serving alcohol, and later on more and more kids were staying up front and no one told them to move. The same staff member went around taking used plates, cups and attempted to remove the food platters when they were still actively being picked over (a pet peeve of mine). He did try to accommodate us in the back by offering a long table (but it wasn't enough for the whole group) so it became the kids table. The bartender was attentive and I did not have to wait to long to be served. They have a large jug of water so you can serve yourself and the bartender can focus on everything else. I had a couple of gin and tonics that were under $9 each. They let the party bring in and serve a homemade cake.

When Jersey City was known, but slightly unknown. More for the if you know, you know people. I came back recently and was still amazed recollecting the nostalgia. It's just one of those places where you have to go during the summer, but can also go during any live sporting events. The camaraderie you get inside the biergarten is one of a kind. The summers are perfect when hundreds are people are flocked outside. Drinks are pouring plentifully and pretzels and other food are gleefully shared with crowds of people. In other words, just because Zeppelin Hall is a bit older than other spots here, it doesn't mean you shouldn't try it.

I enjoyed sitting near the window to get a glimmer of sunlight while responding to emails. Happy hour deals are not too bad either, though I didn't bother with any food. But this year, a dark stain on that otherwise vibrant experience came from Lucky 7 bar itself. Let's be clear -- this wasn't just a case of being busy or understaffed. This was blatant, willful ignoring of anyone who didn't fit a very specific mold. Myself and several others waited patiently (and obviously) at the bar, cash in hand, only to be passed over again and again while bartenders prioritized regulars, deep-pocketed bros, and the kind of performative hipsters who drink PBRs out of obligation like their hot topic t-shirt to a punk band way beyond their years. What's worse: there was no acknowledgment, no "we'll be right with you," not even a glance. Just a pointed refusal to serve anyone who didn't register as familiar, flashy, or fashionable. Or, who knows what reason. We gave up after 15 minutes. Luckys is a great a dive bar that's lived through the different incantations of the JCs arts scene but the bartenders working during the festival this year, particularly the woman, worked with a particular set of blinders that you had to bow down to. Looking forward to next year but hopefully with better service inside the bar.
