JERSEY CITY: 902 Brewing Co. is a great brewery right on the outskirts of town and is dog friendly! The tap room has a warehouse feel and is spacious and fun to hang out in! We had a flight with the Hudson White wheat, Mango hard seltzer, Peach Rings sour ale, and The Darkness on the Edge of Town stout, and there are a 16 beers on tap! There is a rooftop area with views of the Jersey City and NYC skyline, which is worth a peek, but dogs have to stay downstairs in the main room. The main room has big windows, long tables, and a view of the production area. Cheers!

Love this place! Great selection of sours, IPAs, lagers, you name it. Love the vibe. The rooftop had great views and live music at times. There's usually a food truck and plenty of board games to play too!

What a wonderful brewery here in Jersey City. Great place to grab a drink and unwind after a long day. Beautiful rooftop with a panoramic view of the NYC and Jersey City Skyline. They have a wide variety of beers that will suit ur pallet. From IPAs to Pilsner to seltzers. They have it all. They also have carryout as well. So, grab a few for the road. Check their schedule for special events they have throughout the year. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. They also have TVs here to also catch a big game or event. Great experience.

Stopped by on our short trip to New Jersey while flying internationally. The staff, especially Cassie was an absolute joy. We talked about beers as well as the area and she was knowledgeable in both. While they don't have food trucks all the time we were given a a local Taco place that was amazing. Their beer was great and we personally enjoyed all the lager beers and their pale ale and amber ale. They are dog friendly and seemed like a family friendly place, if we lived in this state it would be a spot we would frequent often. If you are a local or a traveler like us give them a try and don't be afraid to start a conversation up... you will be happy you did.

(Drank 07/11/23 TU @ 4:00pm): From the "902" to the "101", there certainly has been something brewing! On this recent trip, I was on a mission to explore the small beer scene in Jersey City and ended up at 902 Brewing Co. An idea that fermented and formed in 2012 in a tiny apartment ("902") to this brick & mortar, the founders have certainly come a long way! With a good assortment of beers to try, was there enough brewing to bring me back for more!? PURCHASE The 4-4floz Taster Flight ($13.00): Choose any four beers https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=eYC21sfrx8rsqsOjOYhMZQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 1. Tropical Mango Peach Vanilla Milkshake IPA 7.9% ABV: Hazy yellow color, slight tropical aroma, low body, slight milky tropical flavor, mouthfeel finish, and slight tropical aftertaste - my favorite. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=aqQSVoeK2LCiJMXK9Fflsw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Blood Orange American IPA 6.5% ABV 16floz Draft ($7.00): Blood orange color, slight citrusy orange aroma, low body, slight citrusy orange hoppy flavor, crisp finish, and slight orange hoppy aftertaste - yummy. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=lnEt7Lx6mJdiF7Zsp4cVlw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Pooch Pretzels 5.5oz Bag ($6.00): We couldn't leave out our furry family member, so he got some treats, too, along with a bowl of water. He seemed to really like them! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-PsEfdD7IAHagj6w_gD9dA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw The Hangover Pretzel Co. Original Zesty Lemon Pepper Pretzel Pieces 11.2oz Bag ($8.00): Us humans also needed some treats to pair with the beers. The flavor was nice, but each piece was a bit large and harder than expected. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=jZaYJjMlXIvT8blqw-2u9A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw SERVICE Immediately greeted by a charming young woman behind the bar, we approached her to which she gave us a quick rundown of their brews and offered water to our dog. Once we decided what we wanted, she easily set up our respective taster flights, and off we went to taste. We also grabbed some snacks and another beer, but generally speaking the service was all pretty straightforward with no table service which was fine with us - all was good! PARKING (FREE) We took the light rail to the Garfield Ave. stop and walked about 15 minutes through a rather off-the-beaten-path industrial area. They had their own onsite lot. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots along the dirt main drag of Pacific Ave. and nearby surrounding side streets - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A spacious industrial warehouse structure https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=JQCvyM7_qMl7oGfj31Gh8Q&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw with plenty of chairs and tables, a bar area https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=EBJITv5TUsQTdr1Ejq0bEA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw with a ton of barstools, and brewing tanks in plain view. Various decorations covered the walls. Menus https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=mbY4q-J6hYgmjnoE5PA7Iw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw were placed at each seating area. Apparently, there was also a rooftop bar! Plenty of natural lighting came through the various large glass windows and front door while an assortment of electric high ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were muted TVs while smooth R&B music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=uYiuLw7kkBaGRQEOBOJWVg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL 902 Brewing Co. was a success, and I looked forward to my next visit to try what I missed this time around. I generally liked the beers (nearly 20 on tap), comparable prices, and adequate service. No onsite food or trucks, it was a BYO style. And, they were definitely family and pet-friendly. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $36.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Great beer, great space. Owner is very knowledgeable and accessible and is happy to explain his process and all the greatness of brewing. They have a great selection of tasty beers both on tap and canned. It also has a really neat rooftop and a good crowd. It's near the light rail, but plenty of parking should you wind up being a designated driver. Drink one for me.

Hanging out at this brewery is such a good time. The menu has options for beer-lovers and non-beer drinkers alike. The playlist included a lot of Noah Kahan. There were locally made snacks available for purchase. Their flights are a good deal and I recommend starting with one, but I ended up loving the Tropical Pale Ale the most and getting a glass of that afterwards. Must tries include the Coffee Crumb Cake stout and My Way IPA.

Brews with a view! That's right - like many other breweries, 902 is tucked away in an industrial area. But unlike other NJ breweries, 902 has a rooftop with views of the city! But wait, there's more! Unlike many places in downtown JC, there's parking! If a rooftop and parking aren't enough, the beers are worth a try. My friend and I each got a flight. Despite the fact that we selected 3 of the same pours, I think one of us was given something else. Nonetheless, we each enjoyed the beers amongst them the Orange Twist, Heaven Hell or Hoboken, and It Was All A Dream.

    A beer and a taste!

Came with a few friends on a whim one day. It was a week day so it was quiet. The place is in the cut so I don't know if a lot of people know about it. It definitely has great space with large a warehouse style look. The type of grungy space one would Want to see in a brewery. There were picnic tables, old school board games, and an open air garage type layout. There's also a small rooftop with nice city views. The staff was pretty cool and the place is bring your own food. Now for the beer! They had some cool names for the beers I had one called Double Paaked which was a New England IPA which was my favorite. Also had It was All A Dream which was my second favorite. Bottom line great place to bring your friends and try new beer.

Nice local brewery in Jersey City that I was able to enjoy as they sponsored a 5K I ran recently. Open air joint with plenty of seating, garage doors to let in fresh air, a nice selection of craft beers, and a friendly staff. Large bar area to sit at and view the menu of beers on the wall, with communal picnic tables and two person hightops on the main floor with the shiny brewing vats all around. I enjoyed an IPA and Pilsner after a hot sweaty race. They also have live music and events here. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to return and try more brews.

Flights and rooftop views. So nice !

covid review: Love the rooftop! Grab your drinks and head to the rooftop. theres benches and tables up there. the space inside is huge too. Ive been coming here since they first opened during early Covid times, and i have to say i love their selection now. I love the unique seltzers and sour beers. Cant wait to see what else is in store for the brewery. I will be back!

    Nice selection, social distancing observed.

Nice addition to BeLa. The once desolate stretch of Pacific is busy with new development and remediation, with the Canal Crossing project virtually in 902's backyard. That said, 902 is doing everything right in these Covid times. Mask up, be ready to have your temp taken before being allowed entry, tables well spaced. Excellent descriptions of the beers and ales very accurately sum up the flavors in the pints we ordered. When we asked a question our server couldn't answer she went behind the bar,'asked another server, and rushed back with the information. Well done! $7/pint is well worth it for delicious beers and ales!

Came for a birthday party (that was moved from a park last minute because of the rain). We were in the front room and had 3 large party platters of food. The food was tasty overall - there were 2 platters with fried chicken, jalapeño poppers, huge pretzels, fries, mozzarella sticks, celery, and a lot of sauces. There was also a platter with a bbq theme with smaller pretzels, pulled pork, sausage, kraut, cabbage, german potato salad, smoked wings/chicken, ribs, another type of meat, fries, and sauces/cheese dip. A member of the staff said the front room wasn't child friendly and a couple had to sit in the big noisy room in the back with their kid while the majority of the party was up front. Not really sure why it mattered because both rooms have bars serving alcohol, and later on more and more kids were staying up front and no one told them to move. The same staff member went around taking used plates, cups and attempted to remove the food platters when they were still actively being picked over (a pet peeve of mine). He did try to accommodate us in the back by offering a long table (but it wasn't enough for the whole group) so it became the kids table. The bartender was attentive and I did not have to wait to long to be served. They have a large jug of water so you can serve yourself and the bartender can focus on everything else. I had a couple of gin and tonics that were under $9 each. They let the party bring in and serve a homemade cake.

The summers are perfect when hundreds are people are flocked outside. Drinks are pouring plentifully and pretzels and other food are gleefully shared with crowds of people. In other words, just because Zeppelin Hall is a bit older than other spots here, it doesn't mean you shouldn't try it.

It was a full afternoon of food and drinks, and the kind of event where a lot of moving pieces have to come together for it to actually work. JP was the reason it worked. What stood out most wasn't the drinks. It was the kids. There were a lot of them, running around, excited, in the middle of everything. JP knew every single one of them by name before the afternoon was half over. Not in a performative way. He just made a point to learn who they were and made them feel like they belonged there as much as anyone else. He was checking in on them, getting them what they needed, keeping them engaged. Parents noticed. Everyone noticed. Beyond the kids, he was everywhere. Anticipating what people needed before they asked. Moving fast without ever seeming rushed. Making sure nobody was waiting, nobody was forgotten, and everybody was having a good time. The food, the drinks, the whole flow of the afternoon, it all ran smoothly because JP was paying attention to all of it. My sister-in-law's celebration was exactly what it was supposed to be. A big part of that is JP. If you are booking an event here, request him specifically. You will not regret it.

You only need 1-2 to feel relaxed. :) The beer prices are great too. The vibe here is great, with a lot of seating options and card + board games to keep you occupied. Dog friendly as well! I was able to get a bowl of water for my little one. Nice views of the water too if you prefer to sit outside. I like how it is bring your own food. I saw a small group having a little birthday party and they had pizza and a cake that they brought. I went to the Food Bazaar grocery a block or two away and got a sandwich from their deli to bring to the brewery. Next door is a cidery, I think a different owner. Outrageously expensive ($17 for a small glass of cider? lol). Stick to strong rope! They do have a cider or two on their menu normally. 2 minutes away is Steve's Key Lime Pie - recommend if you like frozen key lime pies on a stick dipped in chocolate ;)

Sitting right on the water, this place clearly shines year-round, but it is easy to imagine how great it would be in warmer weather posted up outside by the river. Seating is well thought out, a mix of outdoor and indoor picnic tables along with traditional tables and chairs, so it works for everyone. If it had been warmer, we definitely would have been outside. Inside, the decor is playful and welcoming, with quirky wall art, a great keg wall, and clear views into the working brewery. The beer lineup was solid across the board. I had their Pubkin beer, which was a pleasant surprise, and my wife enjoyed a hot toddy that hit perfectly on a cold day. We stayed for a couple of drinks before heading to a nearby reservation, and it was the perfect afternoon break between distillery hopping. Prices were very reasonable, and the biereria taco truck outside made grabbing food easy without breaking the flow. Friendly for both locals and visitors alike. If you are in this part of town, it is absolutely worth the stop.

Who's up a for a little culture war? As one of what David Hyde Pierce called the "nerdy indoor…read morekids," I realize I've been gaslighted for decades by the jocks. A mid-80s Mets obsessive who yearns for the days of Mookie Wilson and Bob Murphy, I haven't kept up with baseball so much in recent years. That all-star game tie and DH in the NL didn't appeal to me so much. Game 7 of the World Series provided an opportunity for me to be a "normal American" and watch the game at the bar. But I didn't want to buy $80 of drinks so I figured I'd try for inning 6 and beyond and get the finale. So the plan was Cork City for part and maybe another for the ending. The game was on many TVs, caught that cool double play. The sound was on but the talking kind of drowned it out, which seemed less than ideal. However, after I left, none of the 30-ish bars I walked past even had the sound on! So much for all the "sports bars" in this town. (To be fair: it was Halloween weekend, and business decisions to appeal to 20-something women in lingerie and their admirers may have been a factor). After going to 14th and back I was ready to enjoy extra innings at Cork City. But they were at capacity. Game Over. Yes, I'm copping to my inexperience in Hoboken bar-going. Turns out Cork City offered the best baseball experience in town. As for the bar itself, I enjoyed the Peach Fuzz cider from Pennings. The service was friendly. I'll try again on an off-peak night. My plan didn't work out but at least I got some steps in and learned that many sports fans are liars.

I am not a beer drinker but they have such an extensive list, I usually always find a sour that I actually love. On my visit over the weekend (3 of us plus a pup) I got the Peach Ring Sour. SO good. They have plenty of tables inside and out, and you can even bring in in food from elsewhere. It really is the easiest, most casual, comfortable bar in town.
