Pros and cons! The ice cream? Absolutely excellent! So creamy and the mint chocolate chip had a solid amount of chocolate chunks in it. Cute little shop! We didn't try the fudge but it looked really good! The cons? The amount of Trump memorabilia around the shop. Everyone is absolutely allowed to have their opinions and such, but in Berea it felt juxtaposed to walk into an establishment that supports someone who so vocally supports division, when Berea is such a beautiful town full of inclusion and arts. Absolutely LOVED stopping in this store! Almost dangerous that it is so close to the Inn! The chocolate treats were plentiful and in good variety. More importantly, they tasted wonderful! Let's face it, some chocolate can look great but taste less than satisfying... but that is NOT the case here. A few of these and a few of those and I had a box of chocolate delight to take back to my room and the remainder for my drive back to NKY. We needed a break from our long drive and I was craving chocolate. So when this place popped up on Yelp I figured we should give it a try. Hubby was happy to see this place also offered ice cream along side the chocolate treats. He got a mint cone while I picked out what I wanted - a Buckeye, a chocolate covered Oreo and a peanut butter cream. The latter was fine, but it was the simple Oreo that stole the show for me. We visited midday on a weekday and happened upon the last parking spot nearby. There were three others placing an order when we arrived. Delicious things are to be found here! I ordered myself some fudge as well as some Jam to send to my grandmother. They had a lot of covid protections in place which I appreciate. Unfortunately one of the employees was wearing a trump hat which I thought was a bit inappropriate for the workplace. I was lucky enough to be treated to some cookies 'n creme ice cream from this cute little shop. It was 82° and it hit the spot! The guy behind the counter was shy and didn't talk much, but was still a nice guy. I will admit, we visited around 4pm and traffic in this college town was atrocious. It was a hassle getting here and then leaving. If I visited again, I'd aim to arrive way before or after rush hour. read more

Cute little fudge/ice cream shop in the heart of Berea. I only tried the fudge, peanut butter and orange cream but both were delicious. You can buy it by the block, and it was affordable - around 3-4 per one block. They also have tons of ice cream to try here as well! They sell different Kentucky made jams, syrups, marinades, etc. that make for great gifts as well! read more

We stopped in after spending a lovely afternoon in Barea. I had got a chocolate covered Twinkie,my husband got peanut butter creams. We didnt dive into them till we got back to our hotel. The twinkie was so stale it was like biting into a brick. The cream had dried up inside like marshmallows. So gross! The Peanut butter creams had a very strong taste of mint. She probably melted the chocolate in the same apparatus she had melted mint chocolate in previously. The creams really picked up the flavor of mint. Over all it was now worth a stop. read more

Quaint. Cute. Homey. My family and I are originally from Washington DC but were visiting family in Berea and HAD to stop here everyday of our visit. I still crave their Buckeyes! The owner told us the reason why their chocolates are so good is that they use a minimum amount of quality ingredients. The draw backs is that there's usually only one person working and takes a while to get service. Their payment technology is outdated as well. read more

I have previously visited the Fudge Shop four times in the last three years. Once again yesterday afternoon I was pleasantly treated to delicious ice cream. The over ten flavored were plenty to choose from mad then service warm and friendly. Last summer in 2013, and in April of this year, I tried to fudge. Again, service was warm and welcoming, the variety of chocolate was appreciated. Both times, I quickly mixed two of my favorites, rocky road and turtles. "I will never return the this "establishment". Thinking that I was misjudging these people, I decided to read some reviews. It was not a misjudgment. It seems that others noticed the same sloppy and rude behaviors from the people behind the counter. The greeting should have been our first clue. My twelve year old son asked for a sample of the orange cream fudge and the lady responded abruptly with "Well I guess, JUST one!!" There was enough animosity in her voice that should have caused us to walk out right then. We didn't and then ordered one piece of fudge. She slammed the lid down on the container when we asked her if we could double our order, as she seemed angry that we were doubling her profit. Finally, and to top it all off, the man behind the counter began asking probing questions about my service dog. He was incredibly unaccepting and asked rudely why I had my dog with me. He continued to ask what the difference is between my needs versus other dogs and insinuated that I shouldn't have a dog in his store. The dog was clearly marked as a service animal and I even offered my authorization letter. Again, I can not stress enough how awful these people treated us. My family and I will not be returning to this nasty, dirty, rude "establishment". We would advise that it be put out of business." read more

My family stopped in after dinner on a Sunday. My mother loves to stop here for ice cream. She noticed that the flavor she usually orders was low. So low that you could see the cardboard bottom of the ice cream tub. Naturally, she asked if the ice cream was old since it was so low or if it had just been really popular. The owner proceeded to talk down to us about how the health department always gives him a 100% rating and she has no idea about ice cream freshness and that he's been doing this for 20 years. We were blown away by his defensive response. We meant no offense, nor did we present the question in an offensive tone. Maybe we caught the guy on a bad day? But he will never catch us in his 100% health department score ice cream shop again. Pro tip: Kindness goes a long way. read more

We were very disappointed that the lady behind the counter handling our food was not wearing a mask or any type of shield on Saturday. We had planned to buy several items for a couple of events, but due to her lack of concern for her customers we did not. I LOVE this place!!! Bestest candy in Kentucky! The chocolate covered cherries are worth a five hundred mile trip. I lose my mind when I eat this stuff!!! They soak the cherries in bourbon for awhile and then dip 'em in dark or milk chocolate. Just sitting here typing about this makes me want to hit the road and get some more of these fantastic goodies!!! They also sell barbecue sauce!!! That's a combination! The service was appalling ! I was there with my mother and grandmother for 5 minutes. The man currently working was older with long mangy hair. He didn't say hello to us when we first entered and started looking at the jams and honey. We made our way to the fudge bar and asked for a sample. The disgusting man told us only paying customers got samples and he could tell we "were not the type of customers who would buy anything." He said people never go this long without purchasing anything and he decided we didn't look like we were going to purchase anything. He then proceeded to ask us how much money we had spent at the soap shop next door, which I find very unprofessional and private information. He told us we can't eat soap and kept running his mouth about how we weren't going to pay. So I said "If that's how you feel, then have a good day." We got our stuff and left. Never in my life have I had such rude service. If I could give it 0 stars then I would. Any man that is going to belittle a family like that doesn't deserve a penny of mine. read more

While visiting family in the hospital across the street i went to get some ice cream to bring back to the hospital. My husband called first and then i drive over. I walked in, was the only customer in the store and the guy working there got up from his chair but did not greet me or say hello. I told him we had called about some ice cream for a family member in the hospital, still the guy didnt say a word... I asked for some strawberry ice cream in a cup, he made it, i asked if the black walnut ice cream was good and he said he didnt like black walnut. I ordered another cup with chocolate and more strawberry. While he was scooping i looked around and said i had never been in the store before. The fudge and brownies and chocolate looked delicious. Still not a word from him. I thought about buying some other treats but was ready to get out of there so i paid and carried my ice cream cups out. The ice cream was fantastic.
