The restaurant was adjacent to our hotel. On our first afternoon in Rome, it was the most convenient place to have lunch in the area.
The service was okay. When we first arrived, the doors were open, but they were not open for business yet. We returned about thirty minutes later and they still were not open. Thereafter, we returned about an hour and they still had not opened. Since he kept changing the time, this time, the waiter told us that we could stay. We placed our order and received it in a timely manner.
The food was not bad. We ordered a whole pizza and Caesar salad. This was our first pizza in Rome. It was pretty good. The crust was cooked to perfection and the sauce was flavorful. On the other hand, the Caesar salad was not as expected. Instead of the Caesar-style dressing that I am accustomed to, the dressing was mayonnaise only. As a result, the salad as a whole lacked flavor. I am not a fan of mayonnaise. Perhaps, some vinegar and/or lemon would have helped, but the mayonnaise alone was a no for me.
We ate outside, which was pretty good. It was quiet. Initially, we were the only ones there, but more people arrived as the visit progressed. The weather was very hot, but the outdoor seating was covered, so there was no direct sunlight. read more
