I was outside waiting for someone from Benz Pool Biz to come out for our appointment. This guy, Mel, was cleaning the pool next door, his truck saying pool tenders. I told him I was waiting for Benz Pool Biz, and he said Benz pools sent me. He charged us 2200 dollars, but originally, he said 800 over the phone and didn't tell us that the price would have been different until he finished. He didn't mention a thing. Ben was able to provide a quote through email. Ben appeared stern in sticking with his yearlong weekly $90 service. Was looking forward to working with him; however, he stopped responding to me when I follow up questions and asked him if he could provide a bi-weekly/monthly pool service. Not super stoked. Heard about the place through a friend/ needed an estimate on getting hot tub up and running at our new place. Appointment was made, no one showed up, and then no one answered when I called. Totally wanted to spend my money on getting it going. My bf and I agreed it would be our present to eachother. I have been with Benz for about a year and recently they changed my regular pool person to another man that doesn't speak English. I believe his name was Marcos. His job was getting worse and worse each week and then I caught him urinating in my bushes. My children alerted me to it and I asked him to leave. I called their main office number and was put on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up and called back later and spoke with a female. I cannot remember her name, but she was very rude. I spoke with the owner and he told me that I must been hallucinating and that me and my children absolutely did not see this man urinating in our bushes. I told him to cancel my service and that I would be expecting a refund for the month. He did not refund me and that is the main reason for this post. I am having money issues with my cancer treatments and for a company to allow this type of employee and dishonest business tactics is deplorable. DO NOT USE BENZ POOL SERVICE!! read more

I have been having a problem with my pool chemistry for about a year. my pool had algae and couldn't keep the pH in order. I had the same Pool Guy for several years and seemed he just couldn't remedy the problem. I let him go and hired someone else, it seemed things got worse. Being totally frustrated one day I saw Ben's service truck down the street from my house at the neighbors. Shortly after I asked my neighbor about his new Pool Guy and he couldn't have been happier to tell me all the good things that Ben had done for him. Ben'z maintained my pool for 10 years.The service was not in any way exceptional, and there was continually something that need repair, and they were never shy about overcharging me for these "needed repairs" without much in the way of explanation.One might ask , why didn't I change pool service? A good question, basically I tolerated his non exceptional service as I had better things to do. 5 months ago , I had my pool completely replastered with a black quartz plaster finish.Immediately the pool had major calcium problems which denegrated the black finish.Ben'z explanation was " there was a water problem".This is precisely what Ben'z was being paid to monitor.I received zero communication in any form from Ben'z that there was a "water problem" until the calcium build up had destroyed the black finish .Ben'z then suggested an "acid wash" which he said would remove the majority of the staining caused by the calcium build up.I discovered right after the "acid wash" that the acid had completely removed the smooth layer of black plaster, which he did not inform me would happen.As is typical of Ben'z complete operation he blamed everyone but himself.He even had the balls to say many people like the pool with the quartz exposed !......not what I paid $6000 for.He came up with every excuse possible to the point of insulting my wife and I.The plaster company , Jeff Kerber Plaster( whom I cannot recommend highly enough!) has agreed graciously to completely replaster the pool at no cost .The plaster company had merely requested that Ben'z restart the pool and stabilize the water, which if they had done correctly the first time there would be nothing to discuss.I then received a letter from Ben'z resigning to service the pool because my expectations were to high.Several pool builders have reviewed the situation and they disagree and believe Ben'z is responsible.Ben'z is dishonest, incompetent, unethical and will never admit their mistakes.I wouldn't hire them to clean my toilets nor should anyone else. read more
