The most mysterious japanese restaurant i've come across. Who owns it? no idea. updated menu? impossible to find. order online? no way man, call ahead! Closed on sunday even though Japan is the most atheist country? YOU BET! The mystery has gone so far that a quaint local off-grid japanese spot has been slandered by a locally viral accusatory memes that was completely false. It didn't slow it down a bit. unprecedented. read more

The prices on the board don't match what they are charging and because the workers are Spanish speaking they act like Some Black folk don't speak fluent Spanish. The Tempura is good but you are getting less and charged more. Gonna cough it up to inflation. The menú says 5, but only get 4. read more

I ate here quite a bit when I was working in Danville but it's been awhile since my last visit and I was in the neighborhood. Same great food with very reasonable prices. It's a simple spot without much flair but the food is phenomenal. The service is fast and the staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for a fast food meal at a good price. read more

Bentto Japanese - My Snapper plate. - Japanese Near Me - Danville, Virginia

Haven't had anything bad from here, food comes out hot, fresh and made to order. They added outdoor sitting area if you want to enjoy the weather, but they do have indoor sitting as well always clean. The employees are friendly and prompt with serving you your orders making sure your all set with the sauces you need read more

Drove a considerable distance to eat here. Why? I'm dumb I guess. Shoddy sign on the window says dine in closed drive thru open. Okay. So I'll order on line, no problem.... Ummm you can't order on line. So I wait in the drive thru line to get a menu. The lady at the window is not at all polite. I order and she says come back in 20 minutes. It's 2021 folks. How is this place staying open?!?!? The food better be amazing and I mean AMAZING cuz that's the only way i can come back and revise this to a three star experience. read more

I'm literally typing this review with one hand while I'm stuffing my face with the other. I eat hibachi at least 3 times a week while driving around the southern US for work. Hands down the best hibachi steak and chicken I've ever had. The portions were massive, the price was amazing, and the flavor was superb. Their fried rice is actually FRIED rice, complete with rice, carrots, and flavor. Order the broccoli as a side...green, crunchy goodness, perfectly cooked. The outside of the building is very unassuming. The inside, however is bright and clean and quite comfortable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Do yourself a favor and make the trip here. Absolutely worth it! read more

Bentto Japanese - chicken, broccoli, and rice on a paper plate - Japanese Near Me - Danville, Virginia

Tasty food and large portions. My only complaint is that there are a lot of items on the menu with no explanation as to what they are. Some sushi rolls and appetizers that I might have tried, but didn't feel like having to ask for a description of each one. I will likely go back though. read more

I've been eating here for 10 years and it's my favorite food on the planet. Idk what I'd do without it. If I were on death row this would be my last meal. read more

Take out was great - nice portions -- got salmon and was very good. Highly recommended -- great price for amount of food you get

Delicious Japanese food! Every time we get take out it's always delicious! Highly recommend!

Bentto is mediocre at best. The sauces and seasonings are great, and they have good customer service, but I've ordered 3 times now and I've been disappointed each time (yes I gave this place multiple attempts - mainly for the convenience factor, as it's minutes from my home, and the only other hibachi I know of in Danville is Tokyo Grill, and they have the most flavorless, lifeless hibachi I've ever tasted). So if the flavors and sauces are great, what warrants this two star review? Old, stale, rotting vegetables and shrimp. The first time, I tried just the steak hibachi, cooked medium. The meat was delicious, but the accompanying vegetables were mushy and had a weird aftertaste. I chalked it up to the fact that I came close to closing time, and maybe received the last of the fresh veggies for the day. The second time, I chose the chicken and shrimp hibachi. And I ordered much earlier in the day, closer to lunchtime. Again, the zucchini was overly mushy, mushrooms tasted old and slimy, and the shrimp had a strong fishy taste. Still, I thought maybe this was just an off day. Third time's a charm right? Wrong. I got the steak and shrimp hibachi this time and again, soggy nasty zucchini squash and fishy, old tasting shrimp. That was it!! Honestly, the freshness of your ingredients can make or break a dish. Bentto is a no for me! read more

I think their food is very good. Chicken is a little salty, so shrimp entree is my favorite.

Great fast food Japanese!!! I usually get the hibachi steak/shrimp!! Super dooper yummy! Give it a try you want be disappointed!!!

I try to eat here whenever I come back home to visit. The food is tasty, the portions are massive, and the prices are reasonable. The ginger and white sauces make everything extra delicious. I like that a restaurant was finally able to succeed in this location, as I remember several popping up and quickly fizzling out in the same spot over the years. However, their popularity is leading it to outgrow its location. Parking in their tiny lot is a bit of a nightmare during dinnertime and it can be difficult to snag a table. The customer service can be a bit lacking as well. The wait time for food isn't bad, but the girl who has been at the register when I have been in makes it seem like you are doing something wrong by placing an order (other people I know who go there have observed the same thing). As a worker in the service industry myself, I know that dealing the dining public can be difficult, but just a smile (even a fake one) and a thank you would go a long way to making the guests feel welcome. read more

Friendly service. The food was good and still hot when I got home. Love the spring rolls.

One of the best hibachi restaurants you can find!! I have been to many these kind of restaurants but Bentto is the only place where uses fresh ingredients (other restaurants use frozen rice and chicken to facilitate their cooking). You wont be disappointed. Also, the taste is so far the best in the area and VA for the price (Yes, VA) read more

Drove 15 minutes across town and got here 15 minutes for advertised closing. Walked in and was greeted with "We aren't taking orders". I visit this town 2 times a month. Never will come back. Very bad service. read more

I eat here anytime I'm in Danville. So good- it's REAL white meat chicken, real steak, and the shrimp is great unlike other "Japanese express" restaurants. I order teriyaki style, delicious. The rice has a lot of flavor and isnt bland at all. You can stand there and watch them cook your food fresh to order. Don't let the outside building turn you away. read more

Good fast Japanese food. Looks awful from the outside but the food is good and plentiful. Also the price is right.

Now I love Japanese food but this place I have tried three times and I just cant get with it. the food to me taste like there was not effort put into it. Twice I have received burnt food. I or hibachi all the time maybe the grill it a little to much. Also the price compared to other Japanese places in this city it is a bit much for what you get. Therefore this is not my first choice for Japanese. read more

I absolutely love Bentto. The food is wonderful, the services is great, and the price is unbeatable. You get so much food for so little money. I would eat here every day if I could. read more

Yummy dinners, fairly well priced. And what's not to love about the IKEA inspired decor?? The *only* reason they don't get 5 stars is they go a little heavy on the salt... read more

Last few times we attended this restaurant, our orders have been messed up. So we figured we'd give it one more chance, and order takeout. So I ordered, was shown the order i had placed, and the order was put into a bag. I then attended the restroom, and came back out to get my bag. Got our order, and then drove 30 minutes home, only to find out my wife's order was not correct. This order had onions and mushrooms, of which my wife is allergic to. So I call back to the restaurant and they are now closed, and they told me, they don't refund food! I said I don't want a refund, I am willing to ride back there for the correct order. Then they said we don't replace food. So I asked what are you going to do about this then, and his reply was, "I don't understand, we don't replace food!" Last time we will ever go there, and we will report to the BBB, and now we are out of $18.00 and no dinner read more
