    January 2024 menu
    Aimee A.

We've ordered takeout from here twice so far- it's delicious and always ready quickly. I usually get very thirsty after eating something with a lot of MSG and don't when we eat from here, and they claim to not use it. It tasted plenty delicious without it and I'm grateful for an option without it. Huge portions and heats up well for leftovers the next day. We will be ordering from here again! My only complaint was not being able to find a menu with updated prices on it online so here it is as of January 2024.

My plate, hibachi steak, and chicken with rice and yum yum sauce.

I have driven by this place many times and never stopped. Yamazato is located in a vacant shopping center, and only a couple of places are open there. So I had doubts about liking the place. At the suggestion of the Yelp posts, I decided to try it. I got hibachi steak and chicken. The steak and chicken were both very tender, and I loved the yum yum sauce. The portions were big and I could eat for 2 meals. For my personal taste, I prefer more seasoning ,but food was okay. Food was served on paper plate with plastic fork. Nothing fancy, but simple. The restaurant was pleasant and reasonably clean. The waitress and staff were nice. My bill was $17.92 with tea and refills. Price comparable to other places. I might return, but it's not my favorite Japanese restaurant. It's a decent restaurant for the area.

Food was good, ordered steak and chicken -the steak was tender and good but i got teriyaki chicken even though i didn't ask for teriyaki chicken. The flavor was good. I def recommend this place.

A hole in the wall in a nearly empty shopping center in Hurt, Virginia has, perhaps the best Japanese hibachi in the state. Quick, humble, and with many options, I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with my meal and service. Give it a try if you live in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Entrees are…read moremostly under $15 and the to go box felt surprisingly heavy, filled to the brim with food. The chicken lo Mein could have been more flavorful but had generous veggies throughout. The sweet and sour chicken was fried to a crispy brown, with the sauce on the side which is nice to preserve the freshness for the drive home. Dining room is clean and inviting. The very young boys working the counter were polite and capable despite not looking a day over 12 years old. Added on sugar donuts and food was ready to go right on time, donuts only took 6-7 minutes. It was a shock to get home and open the box of 10 sugar donuts that I paid $6 for! What a steal.

Located in a relatively new Modern Strip Mall on 36 Kingston Drive in Daleville, Virginia, This woman owned restaurant prides itself by its visually appealing dishes and commitment to quality. It's menu is simple yet full of a variety of items to choose from, from a flavorful Sesame Chicken Entrée, to a Spicy Miso Ramen Soup, to a Korean Fried Chicken Bowl, to a Japanese Hibachi Entrée. All items served in generous portions and at very reasonable prices. Each dish is crafted with high-quality ingredients and cooked to perfection by its very talented lady chef and owner of this amazing restaurant. The interior design of the restaurant is simple, yet elegant and clean, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. I visited the restaurant with a friend for an early dinner. We found it to be very clean with an modern and elegant decor, setting the mood to what would be an extraordinary dining experience. Food is ordered at the counter. where a young man who seemed to be the son of the owner greeted us with a smile and took our order. My friend ordered the Sesame Chicken served with Fried Rice. And I ordered the Hibachi Steak and Scallops served with Fried Rice and Vegetables. We both ordered Iced Water to drink. After paying with a credit card we went to be seated at the table of our choosing. While we talked and enjoyed the beautiful decor of the dining area, the food was cooked and prepared by the chef and personally brought to our table by her with a very hospitable attitude and warm smile. No fancy plates but the portions were huge and the quality of the food was superb, and cooked just right. The fried rice was so moist and flavorful that it was one of the best I've ever had. And the meats and scallops were quality items and delicious. So much so that I didn't have to put any other sauce on them, but ate them as is, so juicy and tender. My friend did try the Yum Yum sauce over his Sesame Chicken and told me that this homemade sauce was the best. As we left, the lady owner made sure to thank us with a smile and say goodbye for coming. And invited us to come again in the near future. In conclusion, I take pleasure in sharing with the readers of my review, this gem of a restaurant, and highly recommend this restaurant as a place to go to enjoy an extraordinary dining experience with family or friends.

The server was very friendly and prompt, to begin with. The interior is nice. Son ordered the Dragon Roll (shrimp tempura) and fried rice with chicken, while I had the Filet Mignon Bento Box. His Dragon Roll was beautifully presented and tasted good. Could have used more Wasabi, and I had to ask for soy sauce. The rice was good, and the chicken was breast, relatively plain, generous chunks, in a not overly sweet sauce. My Bento box came with dumplings in an egg skin? Rice, small salad, small soup, and four California rolls. Everything was tasty. The soup was a basic but good beef stock with fried onion. The salad was lettuce only (which was fine) with your standard Japanese style dressing. Everything was in good portion sizes for my taste. The filet mignon was tender and served on a bed of soft onions and teriyaki sauce with a tiny adorable broccoli garnish. We ended up eating almost everything but some of the sushi and a bed of fried rice. I really appreciated that I didn't feel wasteful. Oh, they had a good seeming selection of beer and wine, though we had unsweet tea (me) and water (son). Definitely will return!
