It's been 2 years since I first tried Bento Peak. Finally able to bring the family here for dinner. I made reservations for a 5:30 dinner for 6. We walked in and the whole restaurant only had 2 people dining in. We were seated right away. The food is still good, menu has lots of choice options. Service was good and ambiance was bright and clean. We ordered bento boxes, sushi and katsu curry.

Solid sushi option with a daily happy hour menu. The fish was fresh, the ambiance was calm and cute, and the menu had variety. Our waitress was very kind and attentive too. The beef skewers were a bit chewy, but the flavor was good. There are other sushi places that I prefer in SF that are similarly priced, but this one did hit the spot.

I ordered the three item bento box and chose salmon teriyaki, ton katsu, and tempura for my items. The bento box also comes with miso soup, rice, and a salad. Overall, everything was tasty and the value was really good. The place itself is on the small side but they have both tables and a sushi bar to sit at. I generally don't like when a place has TVs (I feel like they are very distracting when you are trying to have a conversation) and this place had two, but the volume wasn't very loud if it was even off mute. Service was great!

Amazing lunch special! They have $5 variety of items to choose from. It's weekdays from 11-3! We ordered the: - Shrimp tempura roll - Hanachi jalapeno roll - Salmon avocado roll - Salmon nigiri - Chicken karaage All for $25! What a deal. The chicken karaage was a decent portion and juicy. The sushi rolls were also great, they didn't skimp out on the fish and the fish tasted fresh. Not THE BEST sushi, but for $5 it was good. The restaurant itself was clean and had nice interior decor. Def coming back to try more!

Fast, friendly, efficient and tasty. My second time here and it was flavorful and fresh. The hamachi, shrimp was fresh and good. All the fried foods were yummy and nice crunch! Enjoyed!!!

I was up for an early evening something. I couldn't decide. I was trying to go to this Mexican spot near by, but was closed! I decided to go to Bento Peak as I always pass by it. On a Thursday early evening, 5pm, I was the only one present. It's a quaint little spot, and is comfortable. I was greeted politely, but the server deff didn't seem like she wanted to be there (I mean who wants to work lol, but still). Later in the meal, an elderly couple came in. They were sweet and tried to make some convo and the server just did NOT make the time of day. She didn't even come check in on me just to see how the meal was-- and there was only 2 groups in the place (plus me) and she walked by me probably 20+ times. It's the little things :) I got a three piece bento-- katsu, teriyaki salmon, and grilled fish. The miso came out asap and was nice and hot. The katsu was crispy and hot, tasted clean. The salmon as well, grilled nicely and tasted quite clean and fresh. For a three piece Bento (w/Miso), and a Diet Coke, the total was $26.65. I'd give it a 3.6/5. Nothing crazy, but not bad, good score for clean meats. This is a nice casual spot. If you find yourself on Geary, and wanting a Bento, stop in. I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Nothing stood out in terms of flavor or preparation, but nothing was poor. I've only had maybe one other bento spot so far in the city (and it got me sick). I'll still do some searching Remember: tip well. Despite lack luster enthusiasm, the sever has to eat and live too!

A cute Japanese place where you can get $5 lunch specials? I'm in! Perfect for when you want a small lunch of sushi or small plates. I'll definitely be back to try more. The interiors look cute too!

Bento Peak is like the Krusty Krab of sushi--fresh, fun, and so tasty! The Peak Special Roll had creamy avocado, sweet crab, and a little spice that made me do the jellyfish dance. Even the miso soup felt like a warm hug. Friendly staff, happy vibes... I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready for my next visit!

Good lunch place with their $5 lunch menu. Highly recommend the ramen plus $3 Chashu. Fishes are fresh. Service is great.

Restaurant was clean, ambience nice, waitress, friendly. Five dollar for items was a good value and fills your stomach. I had the udon noodle with karaage chicken, Tempura, California roll. I felt that the food was good quality and taste for the price that I paid to have a delectable Japanese meal.

Bento Peak offers a variety of dishes with reasonable prices. We've been here a couple times so far and have tried the omakase, spider roll, tempura, miso cod, and hamachi kama. Everything was delicious. You can't go wrong with the mixed tempura, which is crispy and fresh; it came with two shrimp and a handful of mixed vegetables like potato, carrot, broccoli, shishito. Miso cod was tender and buttery, but presentation was awful; instead of one piece, it was served as three small slices and looked sloppy on the plate. Hamachi kama was nice, flakey, and moist and it came with a salty and tart dipping sauce. Omakase is a decent affordable option; it's decent quality, and chef gave a variety of fish. Service is pretty standard and our waters were refilled promptly. Depending on how many dishes you order, your dining table can get crowded quickly. Overall, Bento Peak is a good Japanese restaurant that's affordable, not too high end, and has a very extensive menu.

We have been eating here quite often and usually get their bento boxes (it's ok) and maybe some rolls. However, I have been on an Omakase Sushi kick lately and this place satisfies. Very good sushi. Love it! Get it! 5 stars for the Omakase sushi. Service and ambiance nice. Located on Geary Blvd between 11th and 12th Avenues.

My friend and I came here on a Friday night for dinner for their birthday. The waitress was on top of everything. She served us our drinks immediately as we sat down. We kind of knew what we wanted before we arrived and we put in our orders. She was nice enough to tell us that we qualified for a free hamachi kama because we ordered over 100.00. iI've been to places where they don't tell you, so I appreciate her honesty. We got the grilled squid, hamachi carpaccio, and two orders of the sashimi omakase box. The portions of the food were huge! The grilled squid itself almost filled me up. The hamachi carpaccio has the perfect amount of seasoning. The sashimi box has two slices of each fish and it came with uni! Totally worth the price! By the time I got the the last piece we were stuffed! The waitress was so nice and did a little bday cake and gave us shots for my friend. Jer said happy birthday to them like over 10 times. Awesome service! I would definitely come back and try their other food because their bento boxes looked like a good deal as well.

It was my worst meal in my life!!! $ 26 for Bento 3 Items ;-(

Their sister restaurant Tadaima is great so I knew this place wouldn't disappoint. Ordered the 12 piece nigiri tasting. The server explained what each nigiri was and I honestly enjoyed every single one. My friend has a shellfish allergy and they were super accommodating and switched out certain nigiris for her. The fish was so fresh and melted in my mouth. I highly recommend getting the tasting to try out different pieces. We also ordered the snow mountain roll which included white tuna. I also enjoyed this role. Everything paired really well together. The Gyoza was also tastier than I was expecting. Super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The koueigiku sake paired so well with all the food. Super smooth, sweet and went down easily. It was $24 per glass, which was on the pricier side but worth it.

What we ordered: + San Ten Mori (assorted sashimi) [4/5]: The highlight of our meal was the yuzu wasabi that came with the salmon + amberjack in this set. It was sooo delicious and spicy. The fish were plated beautifully, and the quality was pretty good. + Shungiku Kama Sarada (chrysanthemum greens & duck breast) [6/5 - would recommend]: WOW. I was so pleasantly surprised by how fresh, crunchy, and acidic this salad was. The greens are amazing. On top of that, the duck breast was so tender and delicious-- I just wish the dish came with a few more slices. + Chicken Oyster [4/5]: I really loved how juicy this was. I normally don't like chicken because of how dry it is, but this was a great skewer. I wish the skin was a little less burnt. The chicken was also so thick that while the outside was juicy, the inside was a little drier. + King Trumpet [4/5]: Wow! These looked amazing when they arrived. I thought the flavor was great but the texture was a bit rubbery. + Kama Tama Udon (carbonara) [4.5/5]: Delicious! I couldn't stop eating this udon slathered in amazing thick sauce. + Chiizu Tori Katsu [4/5]: This was sooo good. I wish the cheese ratio was 3x as much, but the flavor and tenderness of the katsu is delicious. Huge props to Rintaro; my Resy reservation was initially cancelled due to an accident in booking, but the staff was so friendly and went above & beyond to help me get my reservation reinstated at a similar time.
