Several garden art pieces were not priced, so I politely asked the owner, Kathy, for help. She ignored me completely while continuing a casual phone conversation with a friend. I stood there waiting for about seven minutes before asking again. This time, she put the caller on hold and walked over with me, only to point out a tiny price tag almost deliberately hidden behind the piece. Instead of simply showing it to me respectfully, she said, "Do you read English?" Then she asked, "Where are you from?" Before I could even answer, she said "Mexico" and walked away. For the record, I am Native American from the Klallam Tribe. This store operates on Native land, and the owner had the audacity to treat me like a foreigner in my own homeland. The interaction was rude, dismissive, and openly disrespectful. Antiques and garden art are not worth being humiliated or stereotyped. Customer service matters, and basic human decency matters even more. I strongly recommend spending your money elsewhere.

However, when we went to go picked out the plantings for our yard, I was offered a pretty limited variety of things to choose from at a greenhouse/nursery he wanted to use. Because we had a very harsh winter last year. It killed off a lot of the plants that were at the nurseries. I wanted lots of grasses for our yard, and despite them having a very limited number of grasses, I went ahead with his recommendations. Many of the plants looked very dead, but I was told they were dormant and would "bounce back". Six of large the grasses that he planted were absolutely dead and stayed that way. They never got any new growth on them. Additionally, several of the heather that he planted were also in really bad condition and never bounced back either. This is important info for later. Rusty also installed an irrigation system. We were going to hire someone who does nothing but irrigation, but Rusty told me that he would not "guarantee any of the plants" if we didn't use him for the irrigation. I was in town during the whole process of planting and setting up the irrigation system. Rusty set up the irrigation system to run on a program that he said would be best. A few days after everything finished up, I had to leave for Michigan for about three weeks. I left the irrigation system on, confident that it was doing its job since Rusty installed everything and assured me that it was working. Needless to say, it was not working properly. Lines were blowing open because they were very shoddily put together and one whole giant section was not working at all. When I returned in late May, many of the plantings looked really bad. Some were just as dead as when they were put in and others looked like they were struggling a lot. Rusty came by and looked at things and scolded me for not running the irrigation. I told him that the irrigation had been set up by him and programmed by him and had been running according to his schedule. I told him that I wanted some of the plantings replaced and he grumbled about it and told me they needed more time. 95% of those I pointed out were just dead. In addition, I told him that the largest planting area seemed very dry like it was not getting any water. He argued with me and said it was working fine. I asked him whether or not The nursery would replace the dead items and he told me no. I pressed him on this because I've never heard of a nursery not guaranteeing their plants for at least 90 days, especially when they were in such poor condition when we got them. He replaced about 12 plants and expected me to pay for them. I told him no because It was not my fault that they were planted dead and stayed that way. Additionally, there were many blank areas in our Landscaping and I went to purchase more plants, which Rusty then put in to the Landscaping for me. I've had to purchase more plants this spring as many plants didn't make it. Six heather, six more grasses and two large plantings to the front of our house because there were many empty areas. Because our irrigation wasn't working properly, I spent all summer watering heavily every other day to make sure that we didn't lose any other plants. It pretty much defeated the whole point of having irrigation. Over the winter, the valve boxes completely filled with water and shorted out the half ass set up. I had to pay someone $700 this spring to replace all the valves in the boxes. Prior to him starting, the system wouldn't turn on at all because everything was shorted out. Now that irrigation doesn't run at all, I had our irrigation guy call Rusty to find out about a layout plan, but he refused to provide it saying that I hadn't finished paying him. We paid over $40,000 for landscaping on a small lot. This was to include full irrigation for the area, and a supposed guarantee on the plants. Neither of which he has stood by. I would NEVER recommend working with Rusty due to him not standing by his work.

I paid about 40% more for a tree, a one inch caliper hornbeam in a plastic pot. The tree had a little bit of leaf burn on its new growth, but I chalked that up to being root bound in a pot, so I purchased the tree. I was landscape contractor for years, I have planted hundreds of trees so I planted this tree giving it the best possible chance for survival. With regular watering the leaf burn continued to spread, even though I held off on fertilizing the tree, until it showed signs of some growth so I wouldn't burn it or shock it. Last week I pulled it out of the ground because it was completely dead, when I did there was zero root development. Anyway, I know from experience that sometimes new plants just die but when I was running a landscape construction I warranted every plant I ever sold to a customer. If a plant died within the first year, I would replace it. I could usually bring these plants back to the vendor and exchange them for a new one, but those were real nurseries like Gurneys or Molbaks. I called this nursery and explained what I've written above and they told me they couldn't help me, I even asked if they would just give me another tree and they declined. We live in a different world, where accountability and responsibility are foreign to a lot of people. I won't be going back to Urban And garden.

She took me here fir a mom and daughter date after work ten days ago. There were two crimping stations and several different sizes fir wreaths and swags. You pick your size and then you get to select from dozens of types of greens, cones, branches and more to build a custom wreath. I thought it would be harder than it was. Once you get started, it quickly becomes easier. The tough part is deciding what you want your wreath to look like. Good thing there are several examples to provide inspiration. The stations are in a covered outside area and masks were required. Heaters would help, but they are in such short supply. You can also bring i to your own snacks and beverages but we didn't know that. Next time we will! This was a great experience on all levels and now I have a beautiful unique wreath that is LESS expensive than the undecorated ones you can pick up at a home improvement store or a grocery store. Loved this!

They gave me three dates to complete the work about 3-4 weeks after we did the walk through. The first day they were to remove some small shrubs and grind the stumps. They ended up removing one shrub which was not to be moved and then not removing two others which I had indicated on the walk through. They did not grind the stump despite charging me $190 for stump grinding - it is still sticking out of the ground 3-4 inches. Then the next scheduled day they cancelled, then the next scheduled day they turned up but without the equipment needed to do the hedge trimming properly. i asked them to "be aggressive" with the hedge and when I got home it was like it had not been touched. My husband likened their approach to "using nail clippers to cut the hedge leaf by leaf". They tried to reschedule to come another day with a ladder (like why not bring the ladder first time). I asked them not to return. They seem knowledgable about plants and might be ok for light work like precision pruning and weeding but dont appear able to do the heavy garden work I was looking for. Very disappointing. I have reached out to get a refund for the $190 stump grinding.

I brought my family into Edmonds for a fun day of walking, lunch and exploring. When you see the store of course there are beautiful displays of garden art and mainly glass in the store front. There are numerous signs requesting no photos. There are NO SIGNS mentioning to ask for help in picking up or NOT TO TOUCH. My father was interested in a glass bee for my mother and it fell off the brass rod and the wings broke. I assume she was the owner and blocked the door and was not friendly nor understanding and insisted we pay for the bee. I tried to reason with her that the other bees in the display were securely attached and what happened was an accident and that we were very sorry. This piece was $140 and she was not letting them leave without paying. I asked my parents to leave with my young child as she didn't need to listen to this greedy awful woman berate my father for having an honest accident with glass that wasn't securely displayed. I explained to her numerous times there are NO SIGNS anywhere asking for people not to touch the pieces or to ask for assistance. I paid her $80 for the broken bee because I can have the glass fused and repaired. Her attitude, service and disrespect were appalling and disgusting! Shame on you!!

At the onset of the pandemic, Henery's took charge and implemented numerous measures and protocols to keep patrons and staff as safe as possible. As of this date, May 18, 2020, however, things have deteriorated greatly. 1 of 5 employees I encountered wore a mask. 1 of 5 wore gloves. 2 passed within six inches of me in order to stock shelves on the same aisle I was on, neither wearing masks. Following the example, 2 of ten customers wore masks and also made numerous attempts to get less than 6 feet from me. There are no requirements for employees nor customers to wear a simple mask. Here's the thing. The measures we've used state wide and been enormously successful in reducing the spread of Covid 19. So much so, my wife and I thought it relatively safe to continue to shop in places like Henery's. Fact is, we have a 19 year old quadriplegic at home with 23% lung capacity. If he gets this disease, he dies. Full stop. As a result, we rely on the mutual concern and professionalism of establishments like Henery's to help maintain that level of safety. Henery's isn't doing that anymore, despite the lack of a vaccine and dire warnings from the CDC and epidemiologists globally. We cannot take the risk of killing our kid. So it is that today was my last trip into your store. Life will run a bit slower for us, as we order everything online and have it delivered, but seeing our son reach the age of 20 will make that well worthwhile.
