Yes, the gentlemen who made a point of letting us know he was available to help us find something was friendly and soft-spoken. It's always a plus when staff make sure they acknowledge your presence with a nice greeting. Was it seeing the same exact cheese slicer that I just bought off Amazon last week? Well, a bit maddening but not really it. It was finding two cookbooks my wife and I haven't seen anywhere else. For my wife it was the kind she'd been looking for, a muffin cookbook, Do You Know The Muffin Pan? (what a great title) with a wide range of creative and original ideas spanning savory to sweet, from appetizers to dessert. For me it was finding a Mexican cookbook I didn't know I needed. Now, I've been a Danny Trejo fan a long time. Seen him in the movies and on TV. I knew he owned a popular Mexican restaurant in L.A. because he's guest judged on numerous TV cooking competition shows. But finding his cookbook, Trejo's Tacos, just gave me all the recipes I've always wanted but have never seen anywhere else--at least the way his restaurant prepares them. So, for the joyful experience of culinary discovery alone this store merits five stars. Oh, what was maddening about finding that cheese slicer was that I'd have preferred to have bought it from a local merchant instead of online. At least we bought the cookbooks.

Overall, I'm really happy with my quartz countertops from Integrity Stonework. The quartz looks…read moregreat, it was cut well to the shape of my kitchen, and the seam between 2 countertop pieces is practically invisible. The process from enquiring to ordering was very straightforward and easy to engage with. I was able to go and view the quartz prior to them cutting it to shape. The only road bump we hit was with installation. For the most part it was a good installation job, but it turned out that one of my cabinets was a bit higher than the others, which wasn't visible with the old counters. The installation team pointed out to me that they had to put an additional piece of wood under the counter in that location, but they didn't point out that it then made that counter higher than the others, and I didn't see that when they showed me. I only noticed the height difference after the installers left. My feedback is that I would have liked the installers to have been more explicit about this height difference before they glued the quartz down. I was relying on Integrity Stonework to be the experts for this installation, so trusted that they would point items like this out. After the installation, I had to pay an additional company to come in and remove the countertop to adjust the cabinet before gluing the quartz down again as Integrity Stonework did not offer to come and fix it, despite my request to them to make good on this. To be fair, the installation team did point out a different issue with countertop leveling in a different part of the kitchen prior to gluing items down. I think the height differential was just an unfortunate hiccup as part of this journey, so be thorough and ask to check the countertops prior to anything being glued down!

They were a pleasure working with from selecting the stone in the office, measuring our kitchen, to installing. We had a sort of non-standard window shelf that we weren't sure how it would turn out, but they gave us a few options (with drawings, measurements, and schematics so we could see in detail) for the raised bay window. Installation was quick and easy. We're very happy we went with Integrity.

They provided guidance, creativity, and follow-up every step of the way. Their computer-generated kitchen plans and visual images were very helpful in assuring us that the design they described is what we wanted and in the price range we were looking for. Adrian was our assigned on-site contractor. He was phenomenal to work with. His knowledge, skill, reliability, and "easy-to-work-with" personality made the process from demo to project signoff a smooth and stress-free experience. Adrian and Vered never let any unforeseen or unexpected situation alter or delay project progress. They worked together to offer solutions and resolution in a timely manner. Adrian and one or two other helpers did most of the work themselves, so we were never waiting on subcontractors. The project started on time and finished on schedule. Most of the process…read morewas excellent, but surprisingly, our experience ended on a sour note such that we will not use Pius again and recommend caution to anyone who does. Sophie, the manager at the very nice Pius Tacoma showroom and our only contact in dealing with our project, was very helpful in all aspects of selecting the granite stone. A trip to the Pius warehouse in Seattle 's SoDo neighborhood near Century Link Stadium showed quite an impressive operation as we selected our stone panels. The installers did an amazing job of measurement, stone cutting, and tight fitting installation - but that is when things began to go wrong. Pius has great prices but be forewarned, they only install and are not responsible for anything other than putting the countertops in. You are responsible for tearing out your old countertops and preparing your home with floor coverings to protect from dirt and dust. That's OK as they made it clear that is how they operate. And there is a lot of dust from cutting the countertops in your driveway or front yard that they "try" to clean up "as best they can". Our problem and deep disappointment and let-down was their refusal to address the inadequate final cleaning of the countertops. The installers left a residue of fine dust and a thin film of glue that blemished the luster of the countertops. The head installer did wipe down the countertops with acetone but never changed rags and left a covering of dust and film. We asked him about it as he finished, and he said we "could use Windex for a final cleaning". OUR MISTAKE - We should have insisted right then that he redo his cleaning to remove the dust and film because as we found out after he left, our attempts with Windex did not remove the thin film of glue on the countertops. We emailed Sophie detailed pictures and videos of the blemished countertops along with observations proving this was dust and a film of glue that should have been removed by their installers. And we asked her to send someone to inspect and fully clean the countertops. Additionally, a 3rd party contractor we used to remove the old countertops who is a contractor Pius routinely works with also told Sophie the countertops were not properly cleaned. To all this, Sophie never called to clarify our comments and instead emailed a response that what we were seeing were "normal stone defects" they could not take out. Her comment was totally false! We researched cleaning products and to our great relief, we were able to clean the dust and film from the countertops to our full satisfaction. However, the blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and owning up for something they were responsible to handle soured us from doing further business we were planning to do in remodeling our kitchen. We will never use Pius Kitchen and Bath again and don't care how good their prices might be. If you still decide to use Pius, be sure to observe and carefully inspect the final cleaning and insist the installers fully clean your new countertops to the same luster you see in their showroom.
