Delicious beer at Bent Bine Brewery!
    Alden C.

Bent Bine Brewery is Mason County's only craft brewery. There was one previous one in Shelton but it no longer is open. Personally I feel like the quality of this new brewery in Belfair is a huge step up from that predecessor. The taproom is nice and spacious and the staff here are extremely friendly and welcoming. At this craft brewery I tried one of their beers since once again I was doing a mini tour of breweries in the area....when I say "area" I mean more towards Bremerton since I already did say that Bent Bine is the only craft brewery in Mason County. The beer that I tried here was the New Bine Pale Ale which has Simcoe and Cascade hops. The beer was extremely tasty and was very refreshing on the hot summer day that I was traveling about. Although it is just a little bit of a drive from the Bremerton area coming to Bent Bine is worth since I found the beer here extremely enjoyable!

Chill little place off the road in Belfair. Would be a great stop to grab a growler before camping out here. Solid beer and something for everyone. The minus of the location is that there's a sheriff's office in the parking lot, and the plus is they're dog friendly.

This Brewery is brand new and the beer is impressive! My husband and I had the Peaceable Porter and the Bent Bine IPA. Bother were delicious! Great atmosphere, great parking! Can't wait to come back.

And since they don't have a kitchen, dogs are allowed inside. Service is friendly and helpful, although there's usually just a single bartender working which means you may have to wait for a beer during busy times. I normally would rate them 4 or 5 stars, but they don't list either the prices nor the type of glass they serve it in, so it's up to them how much they'll charge you for a drink and how much they'll give you. They don't even list this info on their website. I could ask the beertender, but when they are busy I feel bad doing this to them and inconveniencing those waiting in line behind me.

The beer is excellent, especially the seasonal releases. There's always something on tap that makes you slow down, pay attention, and then mentally note, "I need to have this again before it's gone." Thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly brewed with care. The space has real personality. Han frozen in carbonite on the wall... solo, no Jabba in sight. It sets the tone immediately. Add pinball machines (yes, real pinball), and it feels more like a hangout than a tasting room. There are pinball tournaments! The staff is a huge part of why I keep coming back: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. They know the beer, they like the beer, and it shows. Bonus points for being able to bring in local food. Grab something nearby, bring it in, pair it with a great pint, and you're set. They often have food trucks outback, which is great for those nights when you aren't in the mood to cook. Dinner + beer all in one spot. Amazing beer, amazing staff, and a space that gets it right. Volition is exactly what a local brewery should be.

Their website was easy to navigate to find out which food truck would be there and when. We ordered our food first then handed inside to warm up before picking up our order. The space was really spacious and nice. The vibes were warm and cozy with a large TV projector screen playing sports, good music and all types of seating and tables. They have a dog water bowl near the front where you can also get water with clean cups nearby too! You can also tell it is a beloved location as it was getting quite busy and there were children, dogs, and adults enjoying the space and time with one another. We got two 10oz Diamond Knot root beers which was divine! I recently started drinking root beer from breweries and I am a huge fan, as I think brand named root beer is gross. The drink paired really well with our soul food order. The bartender was really polite and seemed to be good friends with his regulars which is a good sign. I asked him where we should put the drinks and he politely let me know to the side of where he served me would be great and there is a sign to put empty glasses as well. We will look forward to visiting when we can as we are all the way from Tacoma but it is definitely worth coming back to!

The Five Forks food truck deserves a high five, it was great. We were there with 8 of us to celebrate a birthday. First of all, the beer selection at the time had 4 or 5 pilsners and the rest almost all IPAs. I get it, IPAs sell but I don't know about the pilsners. The lack of beer variety isn't even the issue as much as NOT ALLOWING FLIGHTS! OMG, YOU'RE A SMALL BREWERY! WHO DOESN'T OFFER FLIGHTS??? I get it, investment in glasses and a little more maintenance BUT YOU'RE A SMALL BREWERY! As a business and finance person, the flights give you maximum margin on your product AND serve as a marketing tool for exposing consumers to your various products. It's actually a negative NOT to have them. Instead, we had to order multiple full glasses and shared the backwash (sarcasm but it was family). Actually you would have more money because we would have all ordered flights and then likely ordered larger of the ones we liked instead of finishing off the stuff that was meh. The beer itself was fine. There was one IPA that had some unique qualities but overall as a whole, they were just ok. Another downfall was that they sell themselves as family friendly, but had a single root beer as the only non-alcohol offering. How about just having some canned soda for the kids? I had inquired in advance about ciders for gluten free options for our celiac and they said "we have ciders" which turned out to be a single cider so that was disappointing as well. The place does have some potential, but untapped at this point.
