Absolutely delicious. The Alfredo was what to expect from American dining. Prime rib sandwich was delicious and red pepper aioli was amazing. Service was good. It is a clean, newly remodeled building, the staff has been great and the food is really good. It is a very family friendly place with a large menu and plenty of seating. My friend and I picked this place because she moved to the west side, and I moved to Mason, and this seemed to be in between. Parking was confusing, but I finally found a spot on the street. There is a sign out front saying parking is across the street - but the lot directly across the street is for LaRosa's only, it is actually two lots over to the left. (my friend was smarter than me, and parked there with no problem) You enter straight in to the bar (which I loved!) but if you are looking for seating, just walk to the back and they will get you seated in the area behind the bar. The servers where all attentive, and very helpful. I am not sure if it is like that all the time, but it was great! I got the blacked grouper platter, which came with 2 sides for $13. I understand this place just opened a few months ago. We wanted to try it out because we live kind of close and are looking for a chill, non-chain, neighborhood bar to drink and eat at regularly. We are new to Cincinnati, and I am learning places like these are hard to find. This place was spot on! It looks like the place was renovated. Everything appeared clean and new. They have a bar located a bit separate from the eating areas. Our food was near perfect- Totally surprising for little Reading! You can tell some of the things were made from scratch. I had the grouper (grilled) and it was actually perfectly cooked. We had wings and they were actually JUICY wings. I didn't know tender chicken wings existed. We tried a burger, along with the onion rings and green beans (for the kiddo). Service was great. Everything was great. I would visit again to eat, and also to imbibe. This place is really good, but not mind-blowing amazing. My friends and I stopped here for lunch for a break from bridesmaid dress shopping. I at 1 in the afternoon on a Saturday, it looked like the majority of the customers here were doing the same thing, ha. The food is great for being what I call 'typical American bar food'. I will say that the fries were really good though. They were larger steak-fry size and slightly crisp on the outside. Every one enjoyed the sandwiches and wraps they ordered. The service was very slow but our server was very nice and thanked us for our patience. I don't care much for most wines that bars have to offer, but my friends and I got a bottle of a white wine blend and it was actually very good. So, to start this, this was my first time here. I live in Reading and went with what I would consider regulars. Also, the people I went with promote Benson's by inviting people to come to it for food and drinks. So my wife, kids and I went with family. Initially it was nice. Didn't really have any problems until I ordered their Shrimp Creole. Now, I've been to New Orleans and other parts of LA as I lived in East Texas, and I have previously made shrimp creole. So, I know what shrimp creole should be. I wasn't expecting "out of this world creole" from here but.. I wanted something close to it. You know. That was not even the case. What I got was a bowl of oil, bland Cajun spice, peppers and 5 pieces of shrimp. I have worked in the service industry and I do not like to complain, so my wife did it for me. To no fault of the server, the manager gave a rather unprofessional and uneducated response about the lacking creole. 1. In the menu, it lists the dish with a Cajun tomato sauce, I.e the hallmark of the creole dish. (Not a single tomato was in he dish/or in the oil slop). 2. Manager responded with everyone makes creole differently.(Hmm.. could be true, but people don't make creole without tomato's. Not possible or it wouldn't be creole.) The manager obviously doesn't care, read the other reviews of the manager. Also, don't pass your bullshit dish as something that it isn't. If a customer orders a burger and you give them a hot dog, don't insult them that what you provided was a burger because people make it differently. If you're down here shopping and need quick food, avoid this place. Because if something isn't right, it's your fault because the manager is incompetent and doesn't understand the simplistic fundamentals of customer service or food and hospitality. read more

I did the Buffalo chicken sandwich which comes with onion straws on a brioche bun. The chicken was good but the medium buffalo sauce was almost non existent. Way too big of a chicken breast for a sandwich. Some in our party were raving about the beer cheese burger. The pretzel stick app was enjoyed - soft pretzels with quest or beer cheese for dipping. Sunday around brunch I began craving a burger. With a Yelp search I found this little spot right around the corner. I've been coming for years and the prices just keep going up. I usually only stop in for a drink here and there but occasionally I also dine in. I can't keep track of how many times the menu has seen increases in price since covid. Roughly 30% increase on some dishes. If the food was worth it I wouldn't be writing this review. They charge for money for common dishes that have made other restaurants FAMOUS and nationwide chains yet probably wonder why the place is often empty and business is slow. I love this place! Nice neighborhood spot with good beverages and food (hard to find in Reading) where many items are made from scratch. My daughter is addicted to the ribs. My coworkers and I are regulars at bensons. It never fails every time we come in something with our order is messed up. Order boneless wings you get bone in. Order chili you have to remind your server 30 minutes later. Ask for grilled chicken on a Caesar salad and get fried. The service is becoming too big of a hassle for the quality of food.
