Great place to hang out with friends. The food was awesome and the beer was darn good. Overall if i live in omaha I would be a frequent customer. I can't give this place a 5 because their menu was limited and it took us over 30mins for them to bring us our appetizer. read more

Nice place, they need to sort out their extractors though - smoky kitchen. Blonde beer was good, wheat was fair, pale ale delightful and the IPA standard. read more

Here in Omaha for three weeks for training. Where to go for dinner, definitely here. Great staff and great food. I had the steak with broccoli. I do wish the portions were bigger but I also eat a lot, so they were probably normal size. Everyone else had sandwiches and they were big. This is a great place to eat and drink and worth coming back for. read more

Arrived on a Saturday Night without a reservation. The wait was about 15 minutes. The place was packed but they found us a table pretty quickly. Didn't try any beer (next time...) I ordered the fish and chips and it tasted super fresh. However, the fish was pretty bland and it would be better if they seasoned with at least salt and pepper before frying it. We ordered the poutine and I kept thinking "this would be a lot better without the gravy" which is not something you should think about poutine. The gravy was VERY salty.. and that's pretty much all you could taste. Service was really great and no complains there. read more

The vegan options here are amazing. Honestly the best vegan burger ive ever had. Same with the vegan wings. Service is alright but you come for the food....or drinks (I wouldn't know I don't drink) read more

Took us an hour to get drinks. Didn't get plates with our appetizer. Ordered the soft pretzels as the appetizer; the actual pretzel was nice, the dijon was good, but the cheese was lacking in flavor. My SO and I ordered the fish & chips and the chorizo mac and cheese to share and both were good. However, a vinegar base sauce comes with the fish and chips that doesn't fit as well as tartar sauce. Overall, we should have gone to Cheesecake Factory, they wouldn't have made us wait as long. read more

We came to this bar last night for some late night drinks and appetizers and we were not disappointed. Our waitress, Briana, was great! Very attentive and knew a lot about the beer selection so all our questions we answered. I ordered the Karha-T beer because the Chai T (KarhaT and hard cider) was not available since they ran out of cider. Its an interesting blend and I really liked it, you could taste the chai but it wasn't overpowering. We also ordered some fries and the slider trip - the beef sliders were great but I wasn't a huge fan of the pork belly slider. It was just a little bland and a really large slab of meat for a slider. Who complains about too much meat on a burger? Apparently this girl. Overall I really enjoy this place and plan on coming back - great atmosphere and surprisingly there was no wait for a table, which always makes me happy. read more

Really nice deck upstairs. I attended a meeting here recently in the upstairs deck area. The food was excellent. It would be perfect for having a private meeting for maybe 20 people or so. During our meeting, we also heard a little about how the place started and got to meet one of the owners. He seemed really passionate about the place and Benson area in general. He obviously also is a huge beer lover, which is exactly what you want in an owner of brewery. read more

A mercifully edited and consistently good beer list and one of the best burgers in town. Terrific patio on the roof. What's not to like? This is our go-to spot in Benson. We often think about hitting other places but always wind up here. read more

I came all the way out from New York, as recommended from a friend who lives here and it did not disappoint. The burgers are unreal, the wings super flavorful, and the Mac and cheese unbelievable! Highly recommend for anyone stopping by Omaha for the night or just to grab a beer, as the beer selection did not disappoint either. Also, staff very friendly and food comes out quick! So, this is one of my favorite all time restaurants. I've tried vegan and vegetarian burgers across the country and this one is the best by far. And my fiancé loves the variety of meat-eater options, too. And craft brew lovers? You're in luck. This brewery makes quality brews you'll want to take home with you. Our favorites, Chad, Maggie & Zach always bring excellent customer service and experience that brings us back at least monthly if not more often. Also, the vegan ranch is to die for. read more

Had dinner last night. Always love the food and beer here. Had the fish and chips, and an ESB. Beer was great, fish was great, but something has gone wrong with the fries. We remember great fries here, but what we recieved last night were bland, tastless and greasy. Hopefully just a fluke and we will have the great fries again next time! read more

While I like beer and will drink it occasionally, I don't consider myself qualified to critique it, so this review will be food-focused. I ordered one of the light beers and it was good (I said I wasn't a beer critic, so that's all I have to say about it). We ordered fries as an appetizer. Not great, but not bad either. My main beef was with the burger. It was supposed to have a green tomato relish on it, but unfortunately I could barely taste it - I think both because they were chintzy with it and because it didn't have much flavor. The side salad I ordered with it had a mustard vinagraitte on it, and boy, was it mustard-y. I could tell that it was made from scratch, so I appreciated that. BUT, if you really love intense mustard flavor, you would probably think it was delicious. Service was good; no complaints there. read more

Hands down the best brewery in the Omaha area! I would give them 10 stars if I could. The beer is fantastic! I'm not a stout fan but Brewers duet is THE BEST EVER! With everything Benson Brewery was hyped up to be it ended up being a major disappointment to say the least. We came here for my friends birthday and had a poor experience. There were multiple problems we encountered during our visit. I got the grilled southwest chicken sandwich and it came out practically black. After my first bite I felt like I was eating charcoal so I put it aside. They messed up my girlfriends order on her sandwich by forgetting to remove ingredients that she asked them too. Also, the waitress seemed like she had too many tables on her hand because when we asked her for anything like water or condiments it didn't come for a solid 15 min. She was extremely nice but that's all that Benson Brewery had going for it tonight. I would not recommend coming here for food and certainly not for any birthday dinner. read more

Fun, chic brew pub in Benson. They brew all their beer in house and honestly I don't think I've ever had one that wasn't fantastic. I've been here a few times and I love their burgers. Ambiance and wait staff is super hipster, which is hammered home with how room temperature the water they serve is. One recommendation: AVOID THE REUBEN IF YOU ACTUALLY LIKE REUBENS. read more

Stopped here for a quick dinner after leaving the airport and I was really impressed with the vegan seitan wings!! You won't believe they aren't chicken. Super crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and delicious wing sauces. Im sure that meateaters, kids, and anyone who enjoys boneless chicken wings would enjoy their vegan version. I also had a very colorful house salad packed with several types of fresh veggies and a housemade vinaigrette that was delicious. I wasn't blown away by the vegan/vegetarian options on the menu, it was predominately meat options (only the seitan wings, a veggie burger, and a few salad options). But it's an easy place to gather a group if you have a mix of people with different dietary needs. My boyfriend ordered fish and chips and thought it was just ok. We also ordered a flight of four beers, all were pretty good but nothing super memorable in my opinion. The Karah-T and the cream ale from the guest tap (not made by this brewery) were my faves. Also a little pricy, spent more than $40 just the two of us and that was after the happy hour discounts. Get the wings!! read more

First time at Benson Brewery - also their first time serving brunch, from what they told us. I ordered the traditional - 2 eggs, house made bacon, potatoes and a baguette. The bacon was amazing, seasoned perfectly. I could probably have eaten an entire pound of it. The baguette was huge and probably more than I needed, but it didn't stop me from eating all of it ;) The potatoes were a little too salty. The over easy eggs were perfect, but its pretty hard to screw those up. For drinks I ordered a Karha Comb which was good, the bourbon taste overpowered the taste of the Karha-T which is a chai flavored beer. The beer by itself was really good as well. I wanted to try a new drink they had on the menu - house made pumpkin spice infused vodka and irish cream. Unfortunately they were out of the cream but they made us one with milk and some other sort of liqueur which was rather tasty. I got a chance to try my friend's fried chicken and waffles and it was seriously amazing, I wish I would have ordered that. There was a super tasty beer gravy and she also asked for a side of syrup. The chicken was really moist and kind of tasted like there was parmesan in the breading. I will definitely be going back. read more

The main reason for my 2 star rating is because the waitress was extremely kind. Walked in and got seated outside right away, that was a plus. And not a lot of people there at all, so I was expecting things to not take long and it was a limited menu. Ordered a drink and food in 1 sitting. After about 30 minutes of waiting, I asked the waitress how much longer it would be for my one food item. She said it would be out shortly and that they were short staffed and only had one cook. I totally understand the short staffed part, but when no one has food and I can see the one cook not cooking, that's frustrating. He was just talking with coworkers. I was there almost an hour until I told the waitress to just give me the check and to forget the food. I also watched other people order and dine and ditch because they were not being served or their food was not coming out quick enough. My entire time at the restaurant, I never saw any food come out of the kitchen. What's the point of having a kitchen? read more

Really good Reuben and black-blue burger. The brow ale was my favorite, but we enjoyed all we tried. It was a little noisy, but 1pm on a Saturday, so what did we expect? I never complain about service on yelp. I'm pretty sure I'll never be back at benson brewery again which is a shame because I do like the food. sometimes service will be slow at places and it's frustrating but eventually they get to you, a cocktail appears , all good not at BB. walked in ordered a kind of shitty beer gf wanted a min to choose a cocktail. 35 min later I left 5$ and walked out. we were sitting at the bar. I go out to eat and drink a ton. this was not ok. so we walked down to 1912 and it was pretty damn good. read more

Update: I sent an email to the contact email address at Benson Brewery and received a very good response. An explanation (not an excuse) and an apology was offered for the previous menu miscommunication. The management team indicated that it was a communication issue on their side for not making the waitstaff was completely aware of the new menu/food situation and how they should be handling inquires by the customers. While I was critical of the initial interaction, I was impressed by receiving the response and the earnest request by the food management team to have an opportunity to earn back the customer's loyalty. I also appreciated that they did not dump the problem on the waitstaff who have always been very professional. We are now actually looking forward to the next visit when the new menu is available and will make sure to write a new review that I expect will be much different. read more

This place is your typical trendy Benson area restaurant / bar. It will probably stay alive because of the beer which Omahan's seem to love soo much. The food was terrible. Small portions, served cold and tasteless. I think the service is fine but the decor is also "typical" When I think of where there is really a great place in Omaha to eat that I would go back to I can only think of "Blue" which is so outstanding it beats the seafood restaurants in Portland, OR where I am from. Omaha has a lot of people and a lot of money but they are soo far behind in great food that isn't a chain. No offense, but maybe Omaha does not have a sophisticate palate .Otherwise I can't figure out where all the 5 Stars come from. read more

I've visited the Benson Brewery several times for anything from a mid-day beer cocktail to a football game. Not having ever been a fan of craft beers in general, but an avid fan of craft cocktails...BOOM the beer cocktail; the perfect marriage that costs nothing to divorce if you're not cut out for it. I'm a huge advocate of their Grow A Pear cocktail; the odd assortment of ingredients wont actually cause any changes to your genetallia (sorry gents) but it will indeed tske your tastebuds on a ride. Perhaps for some it's a tad too adventurous. The food is more of 4 stars sadly; the side salad was a good mix of flavorful veggies and homemade croutons making it the highlight of my black bean burger dish which tasted chalk full of filler bread crumbs and made me leave feeling as though it was missing something. But it's not enough for me not to go back to try something with meat and re-review. Happy Eating and Drinking! read more

Been to the brewery multiple times for dinner & drinks. The brew is always tasty, bartenders know their stuff, but their food has stuck out. Disappointed multiple times this summer when they couldn't figure out how to maintain proper temperature in the restaurant. Didn't want to eat food with subarctic air blowing on food. The most recent experience the food wasn't cooked properly. First try, they overlooked the sausage meal and a hamburger. After we sent the food back, we tried the hamburgers once more...but both were over cooked, don't understand how a cook doesn't know what medium means. I really wanted to like this spot but I can't support sub par food after so many attempts. read more

We were out and about this past Saturday and ended up in Benson. What a great find. We live quite a distance (locally speaking) from the northern part of Omaha so we had never really been up there. Holy cow, we got to the brewery about dinner time so we ordered and didn't really expect what we got. This is absolutely THE BEST bar food anywhere in Omaha. Exquisitely prepared with an outstanding presentation the food is fabulous. The decor is also very modern and comfortable. Excellent choice. read more

I have been in here a couple of times to grab a quick beer and sampled the wings during their soft opening. I loved the wings and could not wait to get back here. I live in the neighborhood and walked by the place many times over their initial open and upon seeing the place so busy I just would just say to myself 'I will wait until it slows down'. Finally the other night I was going to a show next door at The (402) and noticed a decent amount of bar seats open (all the tables were full as usual). So I ponied up to the bar and ordered a Captain and Coke. One of the people working there said something like "that's a first" to which the other bartender replied "I serve them all the time". Maybe the other guy was the brewmaster-I don't know. It was odd. Anyway I didn't order the wings as I wanted something more substantial for a meal this evening and decided to go with a burger. So, like with most new eateries, it seems that your traditional food is taken and a spin or extra stuff is added to it like carrot jam or something (made that up I think)-and that is not my thing. I am a basic, simple and pretty dull guy when it comes to food. I want it to be quality-but I rarely enjoy anything "extra". So the burgers, meatloaf's and basically all the food here have those fancy little twists. More power to the chef's and people that dig that-not me. So, I was going to go in for the dive-and try to simplify my meal. I was a bit worried as I felt like I might have got a bit of snoot from the one dude-but I have seen my bartender around the area and knew he would probably take my request as long as there was not an edict from the chef or management. So I asked for my basic cheeseburger and there was not an issue. I wasn't asked what my side item would be, but they rightly chose fries. This is an open kitchen and you can see everything going on very well from the bar. A hard working staff for sure. I was excited to see my fries made with such care and tossed-and sure enough when they came out they were exactly how I like them. Heavy with oils, not too crispy, not coated, just a good honest and substantial moist fry. The burger that game up was good also. Nice moist bun, beef was of quality and cooked well if just a touch on the dry side-but they are usually cooking these to be topped with other things that just cheese and ketchup. A good medium sized burger that was satisfying. I love the decor in the room and the garage door patio going onto Maple Street was the first of it's kind in the area and looks to be a inspiring some others to expand outside a little more in the area. Benson Brewery is a must try if you are in the area-especially if you are more brave about your food than I am. read more

Not just a place to enjoy a beer. Great place to grab lunch, friendly staff very good food.
