I was 2 hours away from Olympia and at the time didn't know what was wrong with it so why would I tow it there? I had to sell my 7 year old 4 runner for scrap and buy a new car. Oh, don't forget the tire pressure. I had initially agreed to have them do a tune up and replace a steering bushing and the valve cover gaskets. After reading reviews I called and told them to only do the plug repair and oil change. When I picked up my vehicle, they charged me $84.69 (25% restocking fee.) For returning parts they supposedly ordered. (Steering coupler, cap and rotor, two valve gaskets, air filter, and spark plugs) There is no way these parts added up to $338.76. The parts, all OEM. come to $96. I took my paperwork from Autohaus to Pete Lea to check out. He is arguably the premier auto mechanic in Olympia, WA. Pete confirmed my suspicions. He said I should get the Heli sinc metric thread kit from Autohaus they charged me for it, and should not have been charged a restocking fee for basic items a shop usual keeps on hand. I requested they give me the hele sinc metric thread kit and they refused. My other mechanic also said the same thing about the part. Nate offered to give me the $84 back. I told him if he gave me a $1000 back i would only leave a couple reviews. Nate refused. what sort of loser would I be to take money from someone and then not leave an honest review.

I've been coming here for oil changes, and occasional small needs such as a lightbulb swap out. Today I requested assistance with larger issues. This particular Jiffylube has proven they are capable of just about anything needed for a vehicle, and is willing to work with customers for plans to take care of needs, while explaining everything with kind and attentive service. They see their customers as whole people. They're respectful of time for those of us with little flexibility in our schedules. They're quick to provide honest communication. Part of their process is even looking for the least expensive part cost at local auto parts stores, before they offer a quote. If you're a mechanic skeptic trying to spin all the plates, with limited mechanical knowledge yourself-- this is the option you've been looking for.

They told me that my engine air filter was dirty and needed to be replaced or cleaned. I told her that I had just cleaned my K&N Lifetime filter 2 months (and 1,000 miles) earlier. Concerned why my engine air filter could have become dirty so soon I asked if she were certain it was dirty. Without double checking, she responded that she was sure. When my oil change was done I popped the hood and pulled out the engine air filter. It looked brand new with no signs of any dirt or debris. I showed the employee my clean filter. There was no apology. She was rude, defensive and argumentative. When I tried to confirm her name, she lied and told me that she was wearing someone else's shirt. The supervisor on duty confirmed her name on her shirt was correct. The new owner called me the next day. He apologized and said he would discuss the issue with his employee. He also said he would refund my oil change. A month has passed and I never received the credit the owner promised. My prior experience at this Jiffy Lube location was positive, but with the new management it is apparent that honesty is not their priority. Upselling customers whether they need it or not seems to be the priority. It is important to have trust with the people working on your car, trust that the work being recommended is truly needed and trust that the work is being done correctly by competent mechanics. Vehicles are a huge investment. We trust places like Jiffy Lube to be honest to avoid costly maintenance bills down the road. I will not continue to take my vehicles somewhere I cannot trust, which now includes this Jiffy Lube location.
