One star review is too high...
In late July 2020, my husband and I bought a used vehicle from CDJR in Leesville. My husband is active duty Army (then stationed at Fort Polk) and we needed to get him a vehicle before we moved to our new duty station, as we were set to move just days later. We worked with Devin Cole and Ethan Bruce for the sale of a pre-owned white 2017 Chevy Sonic. In order for the deal to be accepted by my husband and myself, we requested that a wheel alignment be done and a crack in the windshield be fixed by replacing the windshield. This deal was agreed upon by Benoit and we proceeded with signing the papers. The Wednesday before we were set to leave Fort Polk to our new duty station, the alignment was finally done and the windshield there after. This was ONLY done after repeated calls to Devin & Ethan asking when the 2 services would be done. The first problem occurred when the windshield was not replaced. We took the vehicle to the designated location at DeRidder Glass in DeRidder, dropped it off and picked it up later that night. The windshield was never replaced, though the window had the blue tape on it as if holding the window down to allow the glue to set after replacement. Devin insists that the window just had a repair done to it by means of resin. The crack is still very much present. When we would try to call and speak to Devin about this particular issue, he would suddenly have to call me back and then that return call would never happen.
Next issue started about a week and a half ago. We requested that our vehicle be registered in the state of Florida as that is our home of record, at the time of sale. We are still waiting on our license plate. I called and inquired with Devin and he said he would speak to the titling clerk and let me know. Then I was asked to resend my husbands LES (even though it was provided at the time of sale) as well as my husbands orders, with no explanation as to why. Devin gave me a bogus email address and the email came back as undeliverable. I called back to speak with Devin, he's suddenly on lunch. I asked the young lady whom answered the phone if I could get an email address to send the orders and my call was transferred to Randy Haymon, he stated he was the sales manager. He told me to send it to him, it would be taken care of and he would call me with the status of my license plate. I emailed him three times with no reply or phone call in return.
I contacted the Florida DMV to inquire if they had received any title information from Benoit motors and they stated no. I called Benoit yet again asking what was going on and what was needed to get our license plate since we are no longer residing in Louisiana. We need our plate. I was told by Amanda Robles that a VIN verification needed to be done. I later found out that the dealership itself could have done this at the time of sale to prevent all this. Yet it was not done. I have since gotten the VIN verification done by the Military Police at our new station, in fact I had them complete TWO VIN verifications so I could then mail one original copy to Benoit and one to the Florida DMV as Benoit has lost all trust from us. I mailed the VIN verifications on Monday 21 Sept 2020.
To date, I still have heard nothing back from Devin or Randy. I will never do business with or vehicle maintenance service with Benoit and I will spread the word on Fort Polk to stay away from Benoit. This is horrible. Benoit CDJR is more concerned with the sale of the vehicle but not the completion of the sale so I can get my license plate. Our temporary tags expire tomorrow, 24 Sept 2020. What are we to do now? Drive illegally with expired temp tags while Benoit Motors sits on our paperwork? read more
