After craving some local barbecue, we ended up at Buddy's Bar-B-Q-Sevierville. We initially thought…read moreit was a one-off spot, only to discover it's part of a local chain. We went with the Trio Dinner (pork, chicken and ribs) with sides of baked beans and fries, and a Chicken Dinner with baked beans and slaw. The barbecue was reminiscent of what we get back in Texas, with a slight flavor twist--more Tex-Mex at home versus the more straightforward, classic Tennessee-style here. Honestly, there was nothing extraordinary about it--it's what you'd expect from a fast casual barbecue place. It wasn't bad, but we were hoping for something more unique or special, given that we're in Tennessee. It filled us up for a late lunch, but probably won't make a return visit. What really stood out, though, was the warm lady behind the counter. Her genuine Southern hospitality made all the difference here worth the 3-star rating. That's about it--nothing more to add. We'll leave it at that.

He got 2 lbs of ribs, 1lb of pulled pork, bbq sauce, large order hush puppies, 3 large fries, qt of Cole slaw and a qt., of green beans. We enjoyed it all, and left some for mom for today, and another meal for hubby and me!!! Buddy's is good always, the staff are spot on! And it's always packaged well.

It took a bit for our server to come acknowledge us but once he did, he was very helpful and attentive. My boyfriend ordered a peach Kentucky mule (they originally said they couldn't make that, which we questioned with it being a distillery, but our server came back and said they could after all). He enjoyed it and said it's one of the better ones he's had! We both ordered smash burgers and sweet potato fries - I had the junction 35 (pimento cheese + bacon jam) and he had the farmhouse (bacon + fried egg). Both were amazing! Juicy burgers, perfect size patties for smash burgers, the buns were fresh and held up nicely, and the toppings were great. Sweet potato fries had a great crunch and were seasoned really well. Service was great, food was high quality and had great flavor, and the dog friendly patio was perfect for our pup. It's located in a nice little strip of shops and restaurants, and has a common area of cornhole and other games that would be fun for an activity before/after dinner, or if you have kids in tow. We'd definitely make another trip here when in the area.

Chubby's is a classic restaurant that offers American comfort food. The great dinner feel of the…read moreplace is an excellent representation of the bygone era of the traditional dinner. It has a real down home feel. The place offers burgers (Mushroom Swiss, BBQ Burger), sandwiches (Cheesesteaks, Reuben, BLT, Chicken Sandwiches with Ranch/Buffalo options), and hearty baskets with fried chicken, cod, or shrimp, plus breakfast served all day, desserts (chocolate pie!), and options like pork chops or steak. They have someone thing for everyone. Everything is cooked to ordered. We started off with deep fried deviled eggs. My wife had the Beef Stroganoff. While I had the House Smash Burger. The stroganoff is served in a wide, shallow bowl that showcases the sauce's glossy sheen and the generous scatter of sautéed mushrooms. Steam carries a rounded, savory bouquet: beef-forward notes, toasty browned butter, and the faint acid of a finishing touch -- likely a splash of vinegar, wine, or lemon -- that hints the sauce will be bright rather than cloying. The presentation is simple and effective: no unnecessary frills, just clear evidence that plate composition exists to showcase the food's strengths. The sauce is the star: a glossy, velvety emulsion built on a brown stock backbone, enriched with sour cream (or a light cultured cream), and tempered with mustard and a touch of acidity. The mushrooms are properly caramelized, offering an earthy counterpoint and slight chew that complements the tender beef. Onions are present but not intrusive; garlic and a whisper of thyme or parsley frame the dish without flattening the primary flavors. Chubby's pairs the stroganoff with broad egg noodles -- they're al dente-yielding and capture the sauce in their folds, which makes each mouthful a composed, layered bite rather than separate elements awkwardly forced together. The Smash Burger was an equal masterpiece as well. In an era when burgers can feel formulaic and predictable, the SMASH Triple Burger with Chubby Sauce at Chubby's Restaurant stands out not just as a meal, but as a culinary statement, mine was constructed of three thin-pressed beef patties -- each seared to achieve that iconic lace of caramelization -- deliver an intoxicating aroma of grilled beef that primes the palate for something special. The smash technique here isn't a gimmick; it's a masterstroke that intensifies the beef's flavor while maintaining juiciness through every layer, a testament to precise heat management on the griddle. The Chubby Sauce, a house specialty that earns its name with rich, tangy complexity, serves as the burger's soul. It marries creamy umami with a whisper of sweetness and a balanced acidity that cuts through the savory heft of the triple stack. This sauce is not merely a condiment -- it's the architectural glue that binds texture and taste, elevating each bite into a chorus of complementary notes. What makes this experience remarkable was how it balances bold indulgence with thoughtful restraint: the trio of patties makes a statement, yet the burger never feels overwhelmingly heavy. Each layer interacts harmoniously, and the Chubby Sauce is nothing short of inspired -- tangy yet creamy, bold yet nuanced. We topped it all off with pie. My wife had the peanut butter while I opted for the Apple pie was our desert. Dessert at Chubby's often arrives with the quiet confidence of a house specialty, and the both the Apple & Peanut Butter Pie is no exception. If you think you've had every version of apple pie, this one will surprise you. Chubby's Apple Pie is warm, comforting, and brilliantly balanced. The apples are tender and spiced just right, the crust is buttery and flaky. The peanut butter pie has a subtle, savory richness that keeps the dessert from being overly sweet. It's indulgent without being heavy and memorable in the best way. An absolute must-order if you save room for dessert. This was a great dining experience and in a tourist dominated area, this place stands out as real down home cooking that your grandmother made. Highly recommend, this is one the most stop sites if you are in the area.

Everyone had just been seated. It would have been a 45 minute wait. I had hoped maybe they would ask the couple if they would mind dining inside. We left and stopped at another business. It had been awhile since we were there so I called to see an outside table was available. They told me probably in 10-15 minutes. Knowing we had been there earlier and we had dogs, they wouldn't hold it for us. Food was great. Their tenderloin could easily serve 4 people. The fried deviled eggs are excellent!

My husband and I came in around 7:45 on Saturday night, with our munchkins and greeted warmly and taken to a table right away. Our server asked if we had ever been to a Brazilian steak house because the concept was the same. There are two menus, one with all the apps and everything the other with salad and all the pizzas. They bring the appetizers to you and then bring pizza around. We chose the first one to try the wings, salad, bread and, meatballs. I have to say they were all amazing. No complaints. The wings were crispy and well sauced. We did the teriyaki and the lemon pepper and those were some of the best chicken wings I have had in a long time. Juicy, crunchy and, delicious. The salad was crispy and fresh. The meatballs had great flavor and the sauce was perfect for taking the bread and dunking and wiping your plate clean with it. The bread itself was crunchy and light at the same time. So so good. They brought around all different types of pizza. All fresh, all hot and from what I experienced delicious. I tried their margarita, the Hawaiian, pepperoni, calabresa and, stroganoff. Every single one was different but extremely good. The crush was lightly charred and yet still chewy and soft. Their dessert pizzas are amazing. My husband and I tried their brigadeiro, banoffee and, Nutella com Morgano. So, basically chocolate, upon chocolate with sprinkles, dulce du leche with bananas whipped cream and cinnamon and, Nutella and strawberries. I was I heaven. So good and just awesome. Personal favorite was the banoffee with the bananas and whipped cream. Pizza Rio takes the pizza buffet up not one notch but so many. It takes the idea of the pizza buffet that we know and elevates it to a different and almost glamorous level. You don't leave your seat. The pizza and sides are brought hot and delicious to you. It's taken the pizza buffet that we are used to and elevated it. It's a great place for a date or to impress family and friends with a fun and different place to eat with really good food.
