Fun fish and sea decor, but it's been awhile since anything was updated. It's a typical buffet ~ if you're able to eat at least two plates it might be worth it, but we knew we couldn't finish one plate and asked for the platter menu. It is a very short selection, but covers some of the basics. Our server was fantastic. She was definitely our favorite part of the experience. When we saw the young man going around to tables with the camera, we finished up and got out of there before being pressured into that. I ordered the large shrimp, not being certain what that would truly be. I was picturing maybe large cocktail shrimp, but it was a nice sized pile of tiny breaded shrimp. Not what I thought, but they were really good. My husband ordered the ribeye steak & it turned out perfectly well. All in all, it wasn't our usual selection, but the service was definitely good and the food was decent. I must mention that the people enjoying the buffet seemed to really, truly be enjoying it and getting their moneys worth. They had fun with photographer too until he came back with the pictures and quoted them a price. In the day of cell phone cameras, I don't see how they get many people to buy into this. read more

All you can eat crab legs for 36.95 if you get there before 3 and use the $7 off coupon in the visitor coupon booklets. The crab legs were fresh and delicious. They were average stuffed and pretty easy to Crack. They had other seafood favorites like fried fish, oysters, steamed muscles and shrimp along with non seafood options like rib, steak, prime rib and fried chicken. There weren't a ton of side options they had Mac and cheese, broccoli and cheese, French fries and candied yams. In addition to a small ish salad bar. Not a ton of dessert options they had banana pudding, strawberry shortcake(the best option) , cheesecake, lemon meringue (looked weird texturally) peach cobbler( a little too much cinnamon) and brownies. All in all it was good food At first a little cold but they were consistently putting out fresh food read more

This place is a solid 3. The good: Friendly staff, good selection of food. The bad: 0 drink refills the entire time we were there, crab legs were very salty and were dripping water everywhere (I was literally able to wring out the crab meat and we could open most of the shells without the cracker. Pic of some gross slimy stuff that was in a leg instead of meat and my waterlogged fingers after dealing with extremely wet crab legs), all the beef is sitting in liquid, so is well done, they brought out slices of the prime rib (also sitting in liquid) and I grabbed one before it could go overdone, but it was completely raw (Not rare, as it should be-- completely raw.), dessert was incredibly disappointing, bathrooms were so disgusting that I had to let them know. It was okay. Not great, which is should be at that price, but not the worst place around. read more

You know it's bad when you leave a restaurant and the one item that you remember eating that was the best was the grilled pineapple. It was about a 183 dollars for a family of four. This was for two adults and two children under the age of 12 and gratuity. My 11-year-old son told me he couldn't eat the prime rib because it tasted like rubber and that they couldn't even make rice. The seafood was okay not high quality... The peel and eat shrimps were great... Fried scallops were like rubber balls... Steamed muscles and oysters were good... Steamed king crab legs were small and overstimed... The ribeye steak had a really good taste but it was cooked to smithereens.... The desserts were downright terrible ...The Ice cream machine was good. Also as soon as I sat down and was trying to get some king crab meat out of the shells for my young son a photographer was taking our picture which I thought was annoying. Overall I tried many many dishes and it was okay but I will never ever ever ever go back. read more

I was here many years ago and only had positive memories. So I was craving a good buffet (as opposed to Golden Corral or New China lol and this one came to mind. Boy do I wish it hadn't!!! It was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! They had MAYBE 4-5 things worth eating. Salad was ok as well. Dessert was pitiful! I will NEVER be back to this location! For $50 they should be ashamed of themselves! Shouldve went to Rioz! Save your money - this place is NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL. GROSS!!! read more

horrible food, horrible service, and they lie about the prices. The staff at this establishment is very unprofessional and rude.

Yikes $49 a person for this buffet and the food was mediocre quality. Even the crab legs were barely a number 2 pencil size, but customers were piling up their plates with them. A variety of seafood, fried, broiled. Other country meats. Southern sides, and desserts. Better off going to Golden Corral. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it is in walking distance from where I'm staying, but, it wasn't good. I look forward to all you can eat crab legs when I come to MB and usually go to a location in Surfside. But, I stayed north this year and tried this spot. It wasn't good. Even when I got a batch right out of the kitchen, it was bland and some were just awful. The server was extremely friendly and very attentive, but, that's not why I'm in the restaurant. Going back to old faithful next year. read more

Great buffet.. So much choices for every palette ... we are Foodies from Boston and was very impressed . Seafood was excellent: fresh shrimp, cooked shrimp , cooked oysters , white fish & fried Chicken & salads too! Love the desserts especially chocolate cake & Charlotte Rouge . The waitstaff was extremely attentive ! Our waitress was originally from Bulgaria .. she was very hardworking, gave different utensils before we had a chance to ask for them. The restaurant was extremely clean ! Highly recommend it! Normally we avoid buffets , this was excellent . read more

Didn't want buffet so ordered broiled scallops. Waited 30 mins to find out they hadn't started my meal. When came to table, the scallops were chopped up, tasted like fish and were steamed not broiled. Thankfully they took it away and took it off my check. I've had scallops dozens and times and cook them myself these were very unappetizing. Would not recommend read more

Fantastic seafood and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Kept my drink refilled without having to be asked so this place gets 5 stars from me! Great food and hospitality read more

We really like this place. They have a great variety of food. We went between lunch and dinner, so there weren't a lot of people. This can be a bad thing for a buffet as food can sit there for a while. They kept the crab legs coming a few at a time so they were freshly cooked. The crab legs were very good and we definitely had our minutes worth. The hush puppies were really good as well. Our server was excellent. She made sure we had our drinks and fresh plates and took away the used plates. My wife really liked the stuffed crabs and mushrooms as well. I really like the fruit they had. The pineapple was really good. read more

My love for crab took me out solo today. Husband wasn't feeling good. Never been here before but it was close to where we were staying and opened at 2:30 vs 4. I was glad to be seated away from the crowd since I was about to humiliate myself with my unapologetic need to get crab sick. I only tried 2 other items. The fried scallops and fried shrimp. Both were good and as normal in a seafood buffet tasted the same. The scallops were interesting though bc they were oddly big. I had to go back to make sure it was scallops lol. Crab- this is the main event. There is 1 bin of crabs and they sit in water. They were very little and I had to dig and wait for ones that could at least keep me at my table for more than 5 mins before getting up and back to the line. Everyone commented on this. I got the best picture I could of what was the best of the crab I could. The flavor was good not salty not hard to get out or dry just small. I don't normally care to see crab floating in water but it didn't change the taste for me. Maybe it helped with the smaller sized legs from drying out too fast. Overall not bad not nearly the worse and not nearly the best. Service- my server was very nice. She did her best to keep up with me by leaving lots of plates and discard bowls. She could've done better with the napkin flow and drink refills. I asked for a coke to go she said they don't do that. This is the 3rd place this year at the beach (it's only like Jan 5....that's said no to-go drink for me...is it just me?!...haha). Cooks- you can see into the kitchen slightly. I don't think they looked happy or sad or mad or glad. They were all looking blah. I don't really care as long as they are clean and cooking but I noticed. Just saying. Will I come back. Nah. Was I happy I tried it. Yes. read more

Bennett's Calabash - Best of the batch. That large claw was the only large claw I was able to find on all 9 trips to the buffet table. (Yes 9...it's a sickness) - Seafood Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Me and my best friend decided to take a quick 24-hour vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC from Norfolk, VA. Took us 5 and a half hours to drive. The food was absolutely amazing! Our server was absolutely amazing as well! Went right ahead to the seafood buffet. The Low Country Boil was my all time favorite. I don't know if it's just me but I have a thing for perfectly seasoned Corn on the cob and potatoes. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The country chopped pulled pork was great! Alaskan snow crabs are to die for! Or maybe I'm just fat A lady came around to take our picture which was nice and a good purchase for those were made afterwards. Overall the experience was good, especially for the price . I'll recommend it! read more

Lots and Lots of great crab for a good price! Will definitely come back on our next trip to myrtle beach!

It was amazing!!! Mary the manager is the best I've ever seen working with her employees and customers. Gem, our server was incredible! We never wanted for anything. The food was so delicious. The crab legs were the best I've ever eaten. The steamed oysters....omg!!! I have zero negative things to say. So much better than those folks down the street. I'll never go anywhere else when I want seafood at North Myrtle Beach!! I wish I could give them 10**********s! I guess I just did! Congratulations!!! You rock!! read more

Very responsive customer team. Quickly seated and our server Anca did an amazing job taking care of us. Only issue was the steamed shrimp which had been in the line a little too long. Required to wear mask and disposable gloves on the service line. Will go back for sure read more

Bennett's Calabash - Buffets - Seafood Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

We've been to this restaurant location on numerous occasions pre and post COVID. Came in today around 2:20 PM for some crab legs for me and chicken fingers for my partner. Used a $7.00 coupon so the buffet was only $36.95. I didn't really eat much of anything other than the crab legs so I can't provide an opinion on other food items. I've had better and worse crab legs in the past, so it's fine on that front. For the amount of crab legs I ate, however, the price was very, very reasonable IMO. Re: service, the waitress was responsive in terms of clearing dirty plates, refilling drinks, providing warm drawn butter, etc. Took away a star for the unfriendly hostess and the inedible coleslaw served with my partner's chicken finger platter (we didn't complain about it though). We will be back for sure. read more

Have to say after reading some reviews we wanted to try out this place out and we were disappointed with the food taste and availability. The restaurant COVID procedures were actually okay as far as the serving line and provided gloves to use while serving yourself. But the sitting arrangements not so well; everyone was sitting next to another party with no separation. Only bright side was out server she was awesome and always checking on us and making sure our area maintained clean. read more

Last time here...... so not worth the money. Fried clams were rubbery and hard. Hush puppy's could have been used as ammo in my Hawkins 50 cal black powder rifle. Very disappointing. This is not the first time. The last 2 times were the same. Sad..... this was an enjoyable place in the last. Food was luke warm and the crab legs were small. read more

The food was good. It just wasn't hot when we got there as far at everything in Buffett. Like if it was just sitting there. Once we were there after 45 minutes lots of people begin to arrive so the food started running out and they started making fresh food. The food was tasteful. Wasn't a fan of the stuff shrimp, collard greens taste as if they put balsamic vinaigrette in it, fired rice was really good but the put too much MSG, once I left there I got a headache. Let me not forget the banana pudding was AWESOME! Also I liked that they bring the clean plates to your table, also when serving yourself you have to wear gloves. read more

Server was very nice! But the smorgasbord of food could have been better. The presentation of the food definitely could've been much better. The salmon was way over cooked the crab meat was undercooked. Very dissatisfied for a bill that came to over $100 at a buffet for 2 people that order water and whatever they called themselves doing with that leftover food. read more

So very disappointing. All the seafood is over cooked and bland. It's just a really weird mix of food. Ice cream was in a gross dirty cabinet. The rolls were about all we ate. We left sad and hungry. Two stars is generous. This place costs $44 for a dinner buffet. My daughter enjoyed the crab legs and clams/mussels, but everything else was...let's just say not good. The cantaloupe was nice and ripe. That's the best I can offer as a positive review. read more

This location will be the death of my eating at seafood buffets. Very little to brag about the food quality. The service was spotty and food was not marked very well. So not worth the $40 per adult price to have heartburn for hours. read more

For a seafood restaurant, this is a huge disappointment. While my friends enjoyed their fried food, the broiled scallops I ordered were delivered to the table sauteed, sitting in salty water, and completely overcooked to the point that they were rubbery. I could have bounced them on the floor. The staff did take them back and new ones were delivered. They were still not broiled and though not bouncy, were still overcooked. They were all suspiciously the exact same size and had a bit of a fishy taste - shark meat perhaps? For the price (high even for the beach), one would expect that a chef would know the difference between sautéed and broiled as well as how long to cook scallops. Since one can get fried seafood just about anywhere, I suggest looking for another restaurant that really knows how to handle seafood. read more

There are many seafood buffets in Myrtle Beach. Many of them are kinda large, this one is kinda small. I prefer this place to the other ones because I only really eat certain items from these buffets anyway. I don't need ribs, prime rib, steak, chicken, or pasta from a seafood buffet although Bennett's has this. I want shrimp, fish and crablegs dammit...and I want the best quality. These crablegs were so good, I over ate. The stuffed shrimp were pretty tasty too. Service was good and attentive. I couldn't ask for more. If you are with people who don't like seafood, and need super variety, this is not your place. This place is for the seafood lover. read more

I don't hand out five stars easily. I am very particular especially about buffets and consequently, don't visit them often. But, it was 2:15 and we hadn't had lunch and we were hungry! Strapping on a feedbag didn't sound like a bad idea, especially since we're on vacation. After checking out our buffet options, we chose Bennett's. They open at 2, and we showed up with coupon in hand at 2:15 assuming this is the best time to go to get the freshest food, and we were correct. ($5 off in most coupon books given out at visitor centers and hotels. This brings the cost down to $22.99 per adult, which is not too bad considering what you get). We were greeted and seated by a friendly host who was our waiter, and he took very good care of us. After taking our order (they also have entrees - you don't have to get the buffet), he brought us the most delicious hushpuppies and our drinks and plates, and off we went. The selection was fabulous. Everything from broccoli to fried squash to yams, calabash shrimp to various types of fish, prime rib, steak and even sausage. There's a huge salad bar with various types of lettuce, toppings, cold shrimp with and without tails, crab meat and oysters. And there is a huge dessert bar if you possibly have any room left after your meal. You will be approached at your table by a young lady who will take your picture for a free postcard photo, along with other photos in frames that you can pay for if you like. We declined, and were not pressured to buy. So for $55 plus a nice tip, we had our meal for the day and were ready for a midday nap afterwards. (Don't judge - we're on vacay!) Oh, and the place was exceptionally clean, including the bathrooms. We noted before we walked in that this particular location has an "A" rating. Highly recommend! read more

We went to this restaurant four years earlier on our vacation and it was very different this time around in a bad way. The food is was just terrible!! Not even the kids eat. To top it off rates have gone up to 45 per person. What a waste of time and money. Party of 8 the money we spent... NOT WORTH IT. Save your money read more

The calabash was, of course, delicious but the portions ( ordered off the menu) were large enough for 4 people, not 2. You cant really microwave it in ur hotel room. We both left half a plate of food, to go in the garbage, which is still bothering me. And can u be believe the Buffett is $35? You better eat a lot of crab legs! Lol. Our server was a sweet girl, Anastasia. But really, ur contributing to the obesity epidemic. :-( read more

Although the crab legs were fine (you can't really screw that up as long as you serve them fresh), the rest of the buffer was awful. The beef products seemed like they hadn't been replaced all day and even the salad bar was subpar. Don't recommend. read more

This was our last stop on vacation to get our seafood fill. We actually came here after going to Mr. Crabs first but it was closed down. Parking lot is quite compact and the spaces didn't seem quite big enough but that's beside the point. We walked in to 2 or 3 waitstaff members ready to seat us, there was no wait. When we were seated we had our drink order taken, indicated that we were there for the seafood buffet, and given a sort of hush puppy with honey butter. It was quite tasty. All of the food was hot, other reviews from similar places stated their food was luke-warm. This notion of not temp food flew out of my head when i grabbed the very hot tongs to grab food. There was an assortment of fried foods, stuffed and packed foods, seasoned fish, crab legs, meats, and of course desserts. The crab was not dry from sitting in the lamp/hotel tray and I seen it being refilled frequently. So, I know that it was fresh and that the kitchen staff was paying close attention to it. Our waiter noticed our coupon booklet we received from the hotel and administered the coupons prior to us bringing them up. It was a nice place to eat. read more

Birthday dinner for hubby free a long ride home following our evacuations for Hurricane Florence. I gotta say although I was impressed they were open as few restaurants are, I am not impressed with the food tonight. Seems to be all leftovers. Dried out fish and shrimp. The steaks and roast even have the appearance of being dried out. Our waitress is lovely. We are the only patrons in here this evening. They did cook a steak to order rare for me and it was a pretty good medium rare. I understand they didn't expect many folks in tonight but don't open the doors if you are going to serve food lacking in quality. We did not get what we paid for this evening. read more
