This dinner was a major disappointment. The white fish and oysters were greasy and mushy rather than fresh and crispy. The buffet itself had very little food available, which was especially frustrating considering how much the dinner cost. I went up twice hoping to get fried chicken, and there still wasn't any available. The buffet simply did not seem adequately stocked. The dessert selection was also very limited, and what I tried was disappointing. For the price, I expected a much better experience. The quality, variety, and amount of food did not justify the cost at all. With so many seafood buffets to choose from, there are much better options available. We went to this spot because it was seafood all you can eat. First of all I eat like a bird. I don't even know why I chose the buffet option. We went around 4pm as we were there people came, and you can make a reservation. I would say the food was ok. I don't think it was worth the $50. It gives me Golden Corral but with some extra seafood options. For 2 adults & 1 child the bill was about $150. Service was good and they even asked if we had coupons. Staff was nice and attentive. We come to the beach at least twice a year and make it a tradition to stop here each time. This time we were extremely disappointed. The crab legs were very thin which we considered as time of the year (last week). But the we started eating and they had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever! The fried food was quite tasty but we came primarily for the legs. Service was very good and she was very attentive. There were not many people in but were went early around 3. We hate that this was the case. The restaurant is usually nice and we like to sit on the inlet side but today for some reason the entire side was closed. I should have read the reviews before spending over $115 + tip for 2 people. It was Saturday night but the place wasn't very busy. That should have been my first indicator that I should probably go somewhere else. The crab legs were limp, the bang bang shrimp was soggy, the char on the "ribeye" steak was just old bitter burnt meat that hadn't been cleaned from the grill, the prime rib had been sitting out so long it had turned into roast beef, the lima beans were WAY undercooked. The ribs and the salad bar were decent. Definitely not worth the price. Not at all. Will never go again. I felt taken advantage of after paying the bill for that food. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because when I got there I was hungry and when I left I wasn't. A gas station hot dog would have done the same thing for a tiny fraction of the price. read more

November 2025 #2 Location If I could give this less than 1 star I would. From the minute we entered the property for dinner the first thing they asked us if we had any coupons. Our friend who is retired military asked if they offered a military discount and they quickly replied with No! They are willing to take a coupon but not give a person who served our country on Veterans Day a discount. We sat down at our table, I should have known the restaurant was empty there was a reason why. All the food on the buffet looked like it had been there for hours. There really was not one thing on the whole buffet that was good. My friend was looking for chocolate ice cream at the end and it came out like chocolate milk. I told the waitress we were not impressed at all with any of the food. She replied, "I'm sorry". The owner came over she asked what was wrong. We told her the food was not good and looked like it had been sitting unattended for hours. She said what can I do? I told her it was terrible and barely ate anything at all. She came back with a gift certificate to come back again. I told her " no thank you we will never be coming back here again". There would be no reason to ever go back the food was that bad. She said I'm sorry and we were handed a bill for 4 of us for $194.40. Nothing on this buffet looked like any of the pictures in the ad. The crab cakes looked like dried out hockey pucks. The Ribeye steaks were floating in water. I am actually hoping none of us end up sick from what we did actually try. We ate very little. Certainly no where near what this bill was. I really don't have faith in buffets lol but honestly, this buffet was so good this time. Our waitress was very attentive and fairly quick with drinks, refills, etc. I ordered a pina colada and it was so good. You could definitely taste the alcohol in there, but I loved that it wasn't overpowering and I could enjoy the pineapple and coconut flavors. I ate a lot this time and my favorites were the sweet chili fried shrimp and the fried oysters. It was fresh, cooked perfectly and it didn't taste fishy. The salmon and the green beans were good too, it seems like they used Thai chili or sweet chili for those flavors as well and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also had candied yams which were cooked perfectly and not overly sweet. The crab legs were fresh and cooked well, they came right out the shells without breaking. The food was only worth about $150, if that. Kids didn't eat much at all. Still searching for good food in Myrtle Beach, but I think location comes first, quality fourth. And with a lock on location, there is no incentive for a high traffic area to improve or add to the menu. Avoid unless you have money to blow. What was supposed to be an enjoyable evening of good food, quality service, and family time turned into an absolute nightmare that even ended with police involvement. At first everything seemed fine. We were greeted politely and seated right away. My family went to the buffet, plated our meals, and began eating. That is when the disaster began. Several of us quickly discovered spoiled crab legs that were soft and foul, fried foods that were limp and greasy, and side dishes that were clearly undercooked. We brought this to our waitress's attention, who promptly informed the on-site manager. Unfortunately, the manager's (Mary) response was far worse than the food. Instead of professionalism, we were met with visible irritation, dismissiveness, and shockingly poor customer service. The manager (Mary) refused to provide basic information such as written restaurant policies or establishment contact details. When asked about compensation for the inedible food, the manager (Mary) actually told us, "I should charge you full price anyway," even though much of the meal was untouched. This experience was appalling from start to finish. The lack of food safety, combined with a manager (Mary) who showed no accountability or respect for customers, escalated the situation to the point that law enforcement had to be called. I strongly advise avoiding this location at all costs. Between unsafe food, hostile management, and the complete absence of customer care, this is not a restaurant fit for families or for anyone else. read more

Non-seafood meats included steak, ribs, sausage, chicken: grilled/fried and chicken tenders. The steak seemed to be all well-done (at least my piece was) but the ribs were juicy and tasty. Sides includes a salad bar, yummy mashed potatoes with brown gravy, cooked broccoli, corn, homestyle green beans, sweet potato casserole, Mac and cheese, plus a few others. Desserts included individual plates of chocolate cake and squares of cheesecake, as well as two pies: lemon meringue/butter pecan and large containers of peach cobbler, banana pudding and strawberry (sauce not fresh) short cake. They offer a full bar, sodas and tea to drink. Children under 12 eat for $16.99. Given COVID-19 you must wear plastic gloves for each trip to the bar (gloves provided at the front of the line). After 25 years of being loyal to Bennetts I am disappointed in the service I didn't receive. We were seated very quickly. For two old women hobbling to walk they seated where you are elevated so that means trying to balance while stepping up with our plates, if only we would have gotten that far. We sat and waited as the four other tables were waited on by two different servers. These servers were so good they were also taking items to other areas. I made contact and smiled three times at the dark haired waitress working and watched as she walked by consistently. The blonde was busy and even acknowledged us sitting there with no service. After approximately fifteen minutes of waiting, we decided to leave. This occurred 8/23 at approximately 710 pm. They wasn't busy. I have always recommended them over Crabby Mikes, and Captain George's but no more. There may be a wait at the other establishments but then again that is self explanatory. I usually come to the beach once a year and the tradition is we eat crab legs the night before we depart to go home. Let me just start by saying our server was excellent. We had a large party with several children. She was very attentive. The food was good. I chose the buffet option which was a bit on the pricy side. I had a few crab legs, a few fried butterfly shrimp, a piece of prime rib and veggies.
