I took a star off because they did not provide any utensils or napkins in the delivery bag which made for a delayed meal since I had to go searching for a fork. The garden salad was very good. So crisp and fresh. The tomatoes were yummy, and I liked the surprise of celery amoungst the greens. The greens were mixed and not just iceberg which elevated the salad quite a bit. I always say I judge an Italian restaurant by their sauce, and this one was ok. Very sweet. Not thick. It wanted for something. I ordered the half portion of angel hair pasta, and it was still a very generous amount. I added a meatball which tasted more like an Italian sausage in a ball with a bit of spice and a chewier consistency. I wasn't mad at it, but it wasn't the seasoned ground beef crumble I expected. All in all, the meal was good, just lacking in some of things I expected from a place everyone seemed to like about it. We opted to share a Sunday special which includes soup of the day, salad, rolls and your choice of a main (we got the round steak in gravy). I'm really glad we shared. It's a lot of food! Our server was very nice and explained the menu to us. She checked in on us a couple of times. This restaurant has been around for quite a while and it reminds me of generational dining. We stopped in this little diner and were taken aback by the sheer charm of the place and people! It is a true flashback moment. The menu has a standard selection of small town diner selections and the prices are insanely inexpensive. I had the double bacon cheeseburger and cheese fries. My burger was near perfect. A simple, enjoyable meal at its best. For dessert I had a slice of pecan pie that was pretty near life changing! The pies are all homemade by the owner! I was blown away by how delicious it was. Our server was extremely attentive despite how busy the place was. All of the other customers were locals of the tiny town and surrounding areas. As we clearly looked like our of towners (and were probably 35 years younger than the average age) a lot of people came to say hi to us and told us that we had to stay for the music and dancing that they had at 6pm. We stayed to see the band start playing and most of the restaurant stood up to line dance. It was very cute to see. This was a very charming, unique experience and I am so glad we stopped here.
