We love this place. I only have one check-in here so far but we've been here many times over the years. Our son comes here often after he goes to Church on Sundays for a hearty, delicious breakfast. We come here when we visit him for the exact same reason- plus the fact that the service is legit. If you're reading this, you're probably in or near TH. It's on Wabash Ave and there are no shortage of places to eat. Coffee Cup has one of the best breakfasts in town (see my reviews for the other one I love)- and it's affordable, filling, and most of all delicious. We always worry our son is eating right in college, but those fears are assuaged when we take him here. Love this place- if you have a kid at ISU or RHIT- it's a winner. Worst service of my life. I wanted to take my girls out for lunch. They ordered kids spaghetti; it tasted like a dollar tree sauce and was gross. When asked at the end by the owner how everything was I let him know it was less than impressive. I said the sauce was gross. His response was " like you". Why ask my opinion then attack me? Then an overweight too-much-make-up-wearing server had the audacity to say "you ate one plate of spaghetti". Yes mam, my 4 year old ate the plate. When we left she said it was the nastiest spaghetti she's ever had. I asked twice for a water that never came also during my visit. All in all, I'd NEVER return. My issue was treated like I was looking for a discount and couldn't just be a conversation about how gross the food was. What terrible customer service. read more

Came in on a Sunday for Father's day brunch and the place was packed! I was expecting a 30+ minute wait, and was surprised when they said they would get us seated in the next 10 minutes. Super quick and friendly service (even during the chaos/witching hour of a Sunday Brunch). Despite the dated decor, Coffee Cup has great prices, decent food, and welcoming. read more

We moved here from Texas and fell in love with this place! Great food, generous portions, and great service. Affordable and delicious The menu is great so you can eat something new every time you're here. They have a sign with daily specials, a senior and kids menu, and the daily soups are fantastic. (I wasn't going to leave a review, because while I didn't enjoy my meal, the staff was very nice. But I was charged a buck .50 for a few shreds of cheddar cheese on my grits- genuinely ~5¢ worth of cheese-[ without being let know beforehand,] so that encouraged me.) I had the Polish sausage & eggs with fruit and grits. I had to have my plate sent back to be reheated, because the eggs and sausage were not even warm. The fruit side consisted of cantaloupe and honeydew-- I'm not a fan of honeydew and cantaloupe is just alright, but that's me. The grits were fine. asides: - service: Seat yourself. Staff was nice and very quick. My waitress did not stop by the table besides to take my order and drop off the check. - ambience: I've been to two funeral homes with the exact same exterior. We enjoyed the steak stir fry and the Frisco sandwich. The Frisco wasn't traditional however, and they only bring you thousand island dressing on a patty melt with lettuce and tomato. We spent $22 on both meals, one of which included fries and one a salad. The restaurant is clean and the waitresses are very friendly. They seemed to really enjoy their customers especially the regulars, and had a steady stream of customers in and out as we sat there. We will come back! read more

What a nice out of the way diner to eat dinner while on the road. Friendly staff from the time I walked in to check out. I got pork chops and it can with green beans and potatoes and soup. The chicken dumplings soup was full of flavor and great for a rainy night. The pork chops were tasty and juicy. Overall a great meal and a diner I will return too again. read more

This small quaint establishment has managed to do what no other breakfast place has done for me. I have eaten there 3-4 times and gotten a "denver omelet" which is ham, onion and green peppers. Every time I have added cheese. What makes these omelets unusual is they are not overly greasy and do not make your stomach churn for days after eating them. Others in my party have gotten biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, bacon among others and the results have been the same. The wait staff is good, however at times you have to wait awhile for a soda refill if you are not drinking coffee during the breakfast service. They are open 6a-9p but I haven't ventured here for dinner yet. They accept credit cards and have a diverse dinner menu which I haven't tried yet. read more

Great food and even better service. All the severs help each other out and make sure everybody has plenty of coffee or any other beverage. Plenty of space to park. The owners even help bus tables and take orders when they're slammed. We go once a week. Try the Western Omelet or the french toast is great. read more

Walked in and the place was packed one table open and we got it. Five people waiting on the tables. As I look around waiting for our server to take our order place looks clean seen a few of the staff standing around looking lost one playing on the phone. But the main staff are cleaning off tables for the next customer. One guy with a push vaccume cleaning the floor. Some of the staff look tired or just look like they don't wanna be here like some of the younger folks the older ones seem to be doing good on staying busy. It is about 1:00pm I feel they are handling the lunch crowd good we got our food 10 -15 min. Food came out nice and hot tasted great. Drink refills was good never went dry on the drinks. I had a fish sandwich it was good tasting with the fries. My wife had an omelet with hash browns and she said it was good tasting too. All and all this place looks to be a great place to eat. I have been here before and never done a review till now. I always love to eat at small neighborhood places like this I will be coming back to eat here thank you for reading have a good day. read more

Honestly this is a below average diner. Not good food but not terrible food. It's a good place to go if you're low on money and don't want to stoop to resorting to fast food. The service isn't great. This place certainly isn't my first choice of places to eat. It's very out of date and needs remodeled. The inside is hideous. read more

The service is usually very good, but the food is low grade mediocre with the exception of their omlets. Their potato products all have a pungent off taste to them thats hard to explain. The Coffee Cup on North Lafayette Ave. is one of the best, most consistently good restaurants in Terre Haute. Always friendly and hard-working, the wait staff is terrific. But better yet is the food, which is the star of this eatery. The menu is generous and diverse, but the daily "specials" are incredibly affordable and delicious. There's also a great selection of pies and cakes, and the biscuits and gravy are the best in town. The daily soup specials (two + chili) are hot and yummy. There is even a generous "senior menu" for those 55 years young that includes a dessert. Very unassuming on the outside, but this place is charming and homey inside (and clean) ... so give it a try and you will go back often. read more
