The best dentist around. I appreciate that Dr. Wang still takes Delta Dental, and never overcharges or recommends unnecessary work. I was referred to Dr. Wang when my husband was recommended a lot of dental work by another dentist. We switched to Dr. Wang and he said majority of the work was unnecessary. We have been with Dr. Wang for the past 7 years and won't be moving any time soon. read more

Dr. Wang is the best dentist I have ever had. He focuses on preventive care, explains what he is recommending and why.

Went for another checkup today. The new office is great and Dr Wang and his staff are the best!

Dr. Wang is now in the new nice office in 300 Moffett Blvd. I have been with Dr. Wang for 27 years. He has been taken care of my family. Over time, we feel like we have become friends with him and the staffs, not just clients. We appreciate his care and honesty. read more

Great place, great staff and great doctor. Dr. Wang communicates clearly what needs to be done and then he does it -and as painless as possible. The staff and Dr. Wang are careful, competent and kind...and I received a free toothbrush too this last visit!! read more

The front desk lady for Benjamin Wang is very rude. She should be fired. First she said not showing up will charge $75 for the future visit. No such thing seen in my life. And I called few hours before the appointment because I cannot find the insurance card. She is so so rude. Discrimination again the Asians? read more

Dr Benjamin Wang is an excellent doctor. He surrounds himself with excellent staff. Even if I hate going to the dentist, he makes it as bearable as possible I admire his competence, expertise, kindness and at times funny. I have been seeing him for over 10 years because he is the best. I love the take home toothbrush/toothpaste bag each visit. Thank you for the great care & service. read more

I've been going to Dr. Wang for a few years now and trust him 100%. He is extremely kind-hearted and honest, he is truly in this practice to help others and would never take advantage of his patients. His cleanings are thorough and when I bring up concerns I find he has already considered them before I even asked. I recently asked about veneers for my dwarf teeth. He told me composite veneers would be a cheaper alternative and reversible if I am not satisfied. Dr. Wang knew I'd be willing to pay for the more expensive option, but knew the same look could be achieved for less. He meticulously worked to achieve the teeth of my dreams and I couldn't be happier with the results. read more

I picked Dr. Wang primarily because of the location since its right across the street from my work and the fact that they take my insurance Lincoln. The office is clean- very 70's looking and the receptionist is very friendly. Dr. Wang although with an accent you can understand well and is very professional. I painlessly went thru a crown with him 2 sessions. His assistant Christine? was also VERY great. She cleaned my teeth and kept checking in if I was okay and was just the perfect touch. They make my dentist experience not so dreadful when you know everyone hates it.. you can always expect some drilling! read more

This is my personal experience. I had my Two big teeth needed to put Crown. The funny part was he didn't measure with a mold before , my teeth turn out just totally flat. Afterwards, it caused me infection, but he insisted no infected . But two Dentist claimed I need a Root Canal. Not just that another tooth also. read more

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Wang since he started his practice. He and his staff are very pleasant, the office is clean and they hardly run late. I had an initial exam and cleaning here and was very impressed with the service I received! Dr. Wang did the entire cleaning and exam himself. It was very thorough! When describing some of my dental issues, he seemed to be up on the current research. I appreciated that he described the pros and cons of various treatments that might benefit me. He didn't seem to recommend anything crazy expensive, which I appreciated. He is also incredibly personable and has a very friendly and reassuring demeanor. I would recommend him based on my initial impressions. read more

By far the best dentist in Mountain View. Dr. Wang and his staff are amazing. The level of patient care is top-notch. If I had to describe Dr. Wang the following words easily come to mind: caring, honest and trustworthy. read more

Visiting a dentist is not a fun thing to do, but Dr. Wang really makes the "trip to the dentist" actually kind of enjoyable. The only potential issue I can see is the out-dated decor of Dr. Wang's office - but than again, I am not there to get a spa treatment so the decor really has minimal effect.... I was really surpirse to read the comments of the 2-star review below. It almost sounds like it was a different guy being reviewed.... Dr. Wang is GENTLE,PATIENT, FAIR, and kind of geeky cool. He never upsells services and let me tell you, I had a gigantric cavity in my lower left molar that 2 other dentists recommended root-canals that Dr. Wang filled for me - because I begged him to! I didn't have $800 out of pocket money to spend, and I did not want to hear the drill for 3 weeks!!! Don't get me wrong - it is not just the slow pain in the mouth or the sound of drills that would stop me in my tracks when it comes to visiting a dentist - it is really when the visit to the dentist convinces me to cut-open my wallet in order to "upgrade" the treatment or service.... Afterall, I don't have "DDS" or "MD" after my name and I truly rely on the provider to tell me what I need. So, when the DDS happens to be an MBA type, I wouldn't know when I end up spending more money than I can avoid. Well, I don't have that problem with Dr. Wang - he never upsells and he always explains different options - just simple, straight forward facts and pros and cons of each option. Than he makes his recommendation the most fair way - no surprise, no guessing, and definitely no doubt! Even though I have moved to the East Bay, I would not go to anyone else. read more

I had four implant done recently and very pleased with the results. Dr Wang and all of staffs make me feel comfortable during the visits. I definitely recommend Dr. Wang for all of dental work. read more

Dr. Wang is great, and the periodontist is also fantastic. I've been going to that office for years, since before Dr. Wang took over the practice, and I have found consistently contentious care, gentleness with cleaning and exams, on-time visits, friendly receptionist, no unnecessary procedures / expenses, etc etc etc. My husband who is dentist- and doctor-phobic goes now and has a good experience, and my young children also have started going - the office staff is great with kids! (They even set up my kids in a second exam room, 2 fit on one chair, to watch a cartoon while it was my turn to for a check-up. They checked in on them and gave me updates.) The only thing that's sub-par is the 70s decor of the office. As others have said, the equipment is all new and top-notch, the staff is tech-savvy, kind, and trustworthy, the place is clean and well-cared care for, and there's more that matters in a long-term relationship with a doctor - I think - than wood panelling vs paint. (If anything, one could take it as a sign of the office's integrity, namely that there's no unnecessary procedures or bills.) read more

I've been with Dr. Wang for over a decade now. I live in Santa Clara and don't mind driving out to Mountain View for a dental cleaning. My teeth are a bit on the sensitive side and he takes the time to make sure I don't feel uncomfortable in those areas of my mouth. Now I have my 2 young boys go there for their for cleaning. They love Dr. Wang and the rest of the staff even if the lobby has 70's furniture..;) read more

Top marks to Benjamin Wang. I hate dentists, especially after my first dentist pulled out the wrong tooth when I was 8. Benjamin on the other hand has always been really good at explaining what needs to be done and why. He has a pleasant relaxing demeanor which has kept me at ease through the major stuff. I started going to him 6 years ago, and even though I now live in SF, I wouldn't think of going anwhere else! As for the reviewer below, one of the reasons why I like Dr. Wang is that he is a practical guy. He doesn't upsell me more expensive treatments just because he can. He's empathetic and sensitive to my nervousness... I think she just misunderstood him. read more

Bad customer service. Call them one month earlier to make an appointment, but they wrote the wrong phone number, so no one called me or contacted me to change the schedule. Dr. Wang has been our family dentist for many years. He is gentle, considerate, conservative in his treatment, honest about what needs to be done, and goes above and beyond for service. He even came in on a Saturday night once even though we was out of town at a conference, in order to take a look at a dental emergency I was having! His staff are also warm, personable, and gentle. We're fans! read more

I have been going to Dr. Wang for over 10 years and never a problem. In fact I've had a couple of emergencies where he saw me immediately, no wait. Dr. Wang is caring and careful...minimal pain. I'm sure this guy is probably an excellent dentist and I'm not here to review his expertise or capabilities here. I am only going to give an opinion about my personal experiences with him. So I chose to go to him because he was on a list given to me by my insurance company. He was close by so I picked him. Anyway, I'm terrified of dentists and would love nothing better than NOT having to visit one EVER. The first thing he did was get his nurse to take X-rays. Secondly, he came in and told me I needed my wisdom teeth taken out and when my obvious fear seeped onto my face his response? "Well, we won't be able to get them out today as you're clearly not mentally ready for this". GEEZ. He knew I was terrified as I expressed this to him the minute I met him. I needed reassurance that everything was going to be okay, but I didn't get that. Instead, what I felt was that I was just another patient and he just didn't have the time for this type of behavior. I told him that there was no way in hell I was going to have my wisdoms removed while awake. He informed me that he couldn't do it and that I had to go to a dental surgeon. I said fine. He said he also didn't want to clean my teeth until after my wisdoms were out (which was just annoying) so I was sent home without anything done (except for X-rays) and was charged for a full visit by my insurance company. Needless to say, I went to a dental surgeon and got my wisdoms out and then never went back to this guy again. I gave them 2-stars because the nurses and medical assistants were really lovely. Other than that, I would've given a 0-star rating for the way the doctor made me feel. read more

I am sure Dr. Wang is a talented dentist and I don't mean to say anything about his qualifications, just wanted to share my personal experiences. When I walked in, I felt as if I were in the 70's - the waiting room, the furniture, and the ambiance looked so antiquated, but oh well, that's not what I was there for. The staff was courteous and I didn't have to wait but 5 minutes. The nurse or assistant, or whatever his name was came into take X-rays without saying one word (other than "open" and "close"). Then the dentist came in and examined my teeth. As I was getting my teeth examined, I noticed that a lot of the fixtures in the room were OLD - the lighting fixture on the ceiling were rusting and the floor didn't look very clean at all. Of course all the dental equipment looked decent. The exam and the cleaning part was a okay although I've had such better and more thorough experience with other dentists. Dr. Wang is a nice and talented guy but personally, I would never recommend him to anyone. read more

A truely terrible experience! The only reason I visited him is because my gum kept bleeding when brushing my teeth, so obivously a deep cleaning was required. The actural process is like a nightmare. My mouth was full of blood in the whole process of the "cleaning" and I was charged $300+ enventrally "after insurance". Right since the next day I started to have fever and I scheduled a follow up right after but only managed to get the tiny time slot a whole week after. The only this I received from the second visit was only an ibuprofen prescription, while the doctor claiming "everything is normal" with his broken English. This is not the end! At the end of that month when I check my dental insurance, I was billed for the second visit as well for the "tooth check"! I tried to switch to another dentist right after, but they played every single trick they could to hold back my X-ray and medical record from transfering. I called them every morning about sending me the "medical record release form", which they were so reluctant to give out! Finally I managed to get out of this nightmare after about another months. So, stay away from this fake-smiling guy! Don't be fooled by the fake name good reviews here! read more

Like most people out there, I'm not a fan of going to the dentists. That, and you always hear horror stories of dentists telling you you have cavities at every visit so they can make money. Benjamin isn't one of them. He was recommended by all my colleagues at work. He's funny, straight to the point, and really tells you when you don't have to do something/can wait. So you walk into his office and it's like you went through the hot tub time machine... it's very 70s. Small TV set in the corner, funny chandelier light, older decoration on the walls... it's kinda funny & funky. Apparently they're thinking of moving (and the waiting room is self-explanatory as to why). Now the receptionists are really nice and they call you to remind you about your appointments, they're polite and courteous, which is a nice change from other places I've been to. I mean you're trusting your mouth to people, it's better if they care. Then you get taken to the back where the clean, clinical chairs and rooms are. You can tell those are up to date :D I've been through cleaning and 2 fillings with him. He's very nice, explains things in a very clear yet not condescending way. He was very clear that one of my fillings could wait, so we waited. And then he explained the difference between white and metal fillings. He's very cautious and meticulous when it comes to cleaning your mouth and maneuvering in that tight space, and if you give him the sign, he'll stop and wait, and make sure you're feeling ok. He's covered by our dental plan (Delta I believe) so I paid $0 for cleaning and $50 for 2 fillings, which is crazy cheap. He's very nice and precise, so I'm going back there for my next cleaning :D read more

A good dentist is like a good mechanic -- when you find one, you stick with them. I first visited Dr. Wang several years ago when I moved to the Bay Area and became the proud beneficiary of a dental plan from my then-employer. Dr. Wang's demeanor is professional, the office is clean, and most importantly, he is trustworthy. After I left Mountain View for another part of the Bay Area, I found a dentist closer to my home, who told me I needed deep cleanings and other procedures that were going to cost me over $600 out of pocket. Went back to Dr. Wang, who told me my teeth were fine and those rip-off procedures were unnecessary. Guess what? My teeth are still fine! Yes, the decor is dated, almost retro, but that shouldn't matter because Dr. Wang's equipment is state-of-the-art. Now I live even further away than before, but I always go back to Dr. Wang -- trust matters most. read more

A very kind, attentive dentist and staff. Dr. Wang even saw me on off hours to help with a problem!

Dr. Wang has been my favorite dentist. I was forced to find a dentist and go because an old filling had cracked and fallen out. I am terrified of the dentist because I had a terrible one as a child. Needless to say I was in for a lot of dental work. I explained to Dr. Wang that I was fearful of the dentist so he made sure to take extra special care with me in injecting the novacaine and making sure that I was completely comfortable through the whole processes of putting a crown on my tooth and at least 3 fillings. My husband and I continued going back to Dr. Wang because we felt that he was really so attentive and nice and also felt that he did great work. I am only sad to say that we have moved to the midwest so we will no longer be able to go to Dr. Wang. Thanks so much for everything! Oh, and to the people who complain about the decor in the waiting area, Do you want to get your teeth taken care of with all the latest technology and equipment or are you expecting the waiting are to look like the spa? read more

I HATE dentist appointments!!! There, I said it. That felt good to get that off my chest.....I'll bet no one else has ever made that exclamation--ha! I hate how some dentists like to push all these necessary treatments not covered by your insurance, and sometimes sneakily do those unnecessary treatments and then charge you for them. I hate how some dentists berate you about not brushing correctly, or not flossing, or how you're brushing too aggressively, and blah blah blah. I hate how you sit in the dentist chair uncomfortably with your jaw locked open and feeling sore, with spit and teeth gunk splattered all over your face... So at Dr. Wang's office, none of those things that I hate happen. I'm in, I'm out, with no surprise charges, and face not covered in crap. That's how I like my dentist visits: efficient and affordable. It doesn't hurt that his staff members are polite, friendly, and efficient too. I'm sad that we won't be coming back because we've moved to South City. But I figured at least I'd write a good review to show my appreciation. read more

I called to have a consultation only and they refused. I am insured just fine. Rude front desk.

Really honest. This guy is the real deal. Another dentist tried to convince me to get cosmetic dentistry with a hard sell because that's where the dentists make most money. I switched to Dr. Wang and told him I was considering cosmetic dentistry. "Why?!" He asked. "You have great teeth." I convinced him, though, to do some cosmetic work and he did a great job. Unlike many dentists, he is there for every oral exam and Dr. Mehran, also a dentist, does cleanings herself. read more

Dr. Wang is a good, conservative dentist. I first started going to him about 4 years ago after another local dentist recommended that I needed $10K worth of unnecessary dental work (crowns, replace fillings). After a consultation, Dr. Wang proposed a much-more-affordable treatment plan (if I remember correctly, only 2 or 3 fillings). His cleanings (and his hygienist) are also very thorough. Office staff is also wonderful. I do have one comment. Treatment rooms could benefit from professional cleaning. It is not bad, but I can see dust on crown moldings, vents on ceilings. When it comes to medical offices, my expectation should be that the "5 second rule" shouldn't apply (no dust, no dirt ever). The office would also benefit from some clutter removal. Office decor is outdated. yes. I don't care. read more

Dr. Wang and his team are great! I have been going to them for years, and eventually was able to get my husband to go. Most recently I had my 3 year old go as well. We had a Saturday appointment and they were very gentle with him. I was surprised he let them take x-rays and polish his teeth! I have had a number of rotten dentists over the years, but Dr. Wang is very trustworthy and I would recommend him to anyone. read more

I went to Dr. Wang for a couple years and finally decided to switch dentists. He's not BAD, but he's not great either. On my first visit, he was super friendly and attentive, so I just kept going back. Then I started to notice that whenever I would go in for my cleaning/checkup, he always seemed to be in the middle of doing some procedure on another patient, so he would kind of rush through my appointment. Also, sometimes he would really push hard on my gums too, even though I told him it hurt; he's the only dentist that actually made my gums bleed just from a cleaning. I finally decided to leave because I suspected that I was getting a cavity, but he would just breeze through my appointment and say "Everything looks great! See you next time!" and go to finish whatever he was doing on the other patient. When I went to my new dentist, they said I had 2 new cavities and 3 old fillings needed to be replaced! I don't know if I can really blame Dr. Wang for that, but I'm definitely glad that I followed my gut and went to someone else. read more

I have been a patient for about 10 years now. Dr. Wang and his staff makes even dentist visits pleasant. Yes, the decor is a little outdated, but what does that have to do with how good the dentist is? Never judge a book by its cover. Dr. Wang is very conservative with recommending treatments and will not recommend procedures that are not necessary. How rare to find a dentist you can actually trust. read more
