I was charged $1,000 for the install. Over a month went by and I did not hear back from the company as to the status of my order. Worried, I made several call attempts and the installer finally got in contact with me. After two weeks, the installer finally arrived. The install was completed, however, after a few months, the motor of the blinds stopped working. Mike came back and gave me one cord to re-charge each of the three motors. I was told by Mike, once it charged for more than 24 hours, that it would not need charging for 2 years. I plugged in the charger to all three blinds for more than 24 hours repeatedly, however, it worked for only two weeks and again the motors stopped working. I contacted Mike to see if he could fix the blinds, but he refused. I told him I wanted to switch to a manual blind instead, hoping he would at least make some kind of fix for the large amount I had paid. He told me that i would need to pay a new additional cost. Since then, he has not answered me or at least offer a compromise to the situation. I am utterly disappointed in his service and hope that whomever is his superior or if Budget Blinds corporate will try to fix this situation. Instead of trying to sell me something that wasn't right for my home, they were completely upfront that their current products probably wouldn't meet the style I was looking for. That kind of honesty is rare. No pressure, no sales pitch, no wasting my time. Just fast, professional communication and straight answers. Sometimes you learn more about a company by how they handle the sale they can't make than the one they can. Excellent customer service and integrity. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend giving them an opportunity.

First, the installation team left without addressing the cracks/damage to my windowsill. They obviously saw the damage but did not mention it or let me know that someone would be scheduled to come back and fix it. I had to call the company myself and send pictures before they sent someone out. When they came back, all they did was sand down the damaged area and fill it in. I am also very disappointed with the fit of the shutters. I was told afterward that the shutters are not custom-sized and that the gap around them is "industry standard" because of the sizing of new-build windows. The gap is large enough that you can actually see the screws, which makes the shutters look like they were not properly sized for the window. What makes this even more disappointing is that their website advertises "custom shutters" and describes their shutters as having a "perfect fit." Someone came to my home to measure my windows before I purchased them, so I was under the impression that the shutters would be custom measured and ordered specifically for my windows. I was also told that I would have to wait weeks for the shutters because they needed to be ordered in the correct size. The final result does not look or feel like a custom, perfect-fit installation. When someone finally came out to address the damaged windowsill, I was also told that if I wanted to cover the large gap, I should purchase a weather stripping product from Amazon and install it myself. I was very surprised that after spending $1,500 on two windows, I was being directed to purchase something myself to make the shutters look properly finished. Had I known beforehand that there would be a noticeable gap, visible screws, and that I would essentially need to add my own weather stripping to make the installation look finished, I would have purchased from a different company. I spent approximately $1,500 on shutters for just two windows, so I expected a much better fit and finish. I understand that some clearance may be necessary for installation, but the large gap and visible screws are not what I expected from a company advertising custom shutters and a perfect fit. Overall, while the customer service was pleasant, I am extremely disappointed with the final product and the way the installation issues were handled. I wish the expectations regarding sizing, gaps, and installation had been made clear before I made the purchase.

I left a note on their website and got a call back, during which an appointment was set up for someone to come to my house. I figured I would keep looking until the appointment date, not knowing what to expect from Budget Blinds. Was that ever a waste of time. Christine was able to seal the deal. I just wanted something basic (affordable too) and that's what she set up for me. She didn't try to push me into something more fancy (i.e. pricey). A couple of weeks later, I got the call to set up an appointment for the installation. I am now sitting in a well-lit, happy living room with blinds that actually do as intended. I'm sure that all blinds companies want your business. But Budget Blinds of Diamond Bar, Glendora and San Dimas has people on staff who not only want your business, but deserve it. Every step of this process was handled by someone with professionalism, friendliness, ease and a sincere desire to provide the best service. I'm now half-tempted to sabotage my kitchen blinds just to deal with Budget Blinds again. Give them a call. It'll make your search for blinds that much easier and faster. No issues during install except a broken piece inside a curtain shade (made by 3rd party) that they will replace. Windows are beautiful, so clean and clear it makes the world look more beautiful. It's like taking off a pair of fuzzy, dirty glasses, lens, and getting Lasik eye surgery. Every window is neat and pristine at the finish. The Installers Danny, Vincent & Joe were super professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Danny made sure he had the correct curtains per window by triple checking with me throughout the process They made me feel very comfortable as the only person in my house as they all worked. They moved any items out of their way and cleaned up after themselves. Most of the mess comes from the demolition portion. Very little clean up left for me. Drop cloths laid down to prevent dirtying the floors. I would hire Hometime again for any future window or door project.
