    Our Fam @ Benihana

THE FOOD ---------------- = Land 'N Sea (Filet Mignon + Scallops), Deluxe Treat (Filet Mignon + Lobster Tail) and Teriyaki Chicken - All of the food was pretty much what you would expect from a Hibachi restaurant, but I DID expect a litttttle more from Benihana. The lobster, steak, shrimp and chicken from the 3 specialty entrees were OK. Fried rice was on point, but the steak was a bit overdone. THE SERVICE ------------------- - Had to wait a good 15-20 minutes before we were seated, despite having reservations. Chances were that we had to wait for our tablemates to show up too, which is a downside to having to share a table with strangers. - The hibachi show, or the lack thereof, that our chef put on was disappointing. ---- Our chef didn't show up and start cooking until 45 minutes after we were already seated! 45!!! That's an eternity when you're hungry, let alone when you have kids dining with you. ---- Chef was not very enthusiastic. Other chefs were more animated and had more showmanship. Have seen a better show at other hibachi restaurants (e.g., Arirang). = Although they were very nice and patient, the waitresses seemed to not remember people's orders and handed out soups and appetizers to the incorrect people at our table. + Expect a Happy Birthday song from the staff and complimentary ice cream if it's your birthday. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Restaurant is located right across the street from Menlo Park Mall, so definitely convenient for mall-goers. + Huge private parking lot outside. + Inside is very spacious with hibachi and non-hibachi sections of the restaurant. - It gets NOISY inside as you can imagine with all of the hibachi action. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Try to come with a large party, if you can, else you WILL have to share a table with strangers. Definitely not the worst thing, but depending on how social you are, it can get awkward because some tablemates might not be very friendly.

My bf and I came here for hibachi dinner. The wait was 10 minutes for the two of us, and then was seated with 2 others. The service was friendly and the cook was mellow. Nothing too fancy. The filet mignon was amazing, the chicken was a bit dry and under seasoned. However, the vegetables were pretty good. When we got the bill gratuity is included for 8 people but there were just 2 of us. The bill was 149.75 and paid $200. We only received $30 back in cash... Which means the waitress took $21 to herself. She would have gotten a bigger tip if she had given the correct change back. My bf waited 10 minutes for her to come back to ask where the rest was but she never returned, so we just left. Wont be coming back to this location.

Benihana never disappoints for a casual, yet flavorful experience. The food is always good whether you do the whole hibachi show or just grab a table. My friend and I went on a Friday night and were fortunate enough to be seated promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive. All of our food arrived cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by the festive cocktail menu. Highly recommend the cranberry spice mojito!

Nice location with plenty of parking, and the inside is very clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. However, we were a little disappointed with the food. We ordered the six-course combination, which included the onion soup, appetizers, filet, chicken, and shrimp. Everything was cooked to our liking, but the dishes lacked seasoning and didn't have the flavor we've experienced at other hibachi restaurants. Overall, it was an okay experience, but the food could definitely use more flavor.

I went here for the first time and I can honestly say that the food was pretty good and the customer service and ambiance was great as well I had the raspberry lemonade to drink and the hibachi steak well done with the colossal shrimp well done and white rice and I think next time I'm gonna get the same thing but with the fried rice no egg I definitely will be back soon

The little train cars that bring your food are super fun, and the conveyor belt has food as well and of course the robots that bring you food as well. This is all you can eat so you pay 1 price for everything. I thought Ramen would be more expensive but it's not, it's included! I think only drinks and desserts are extra. This place had a lot of options and way more than sushi so if you are not a sushi person, there's plenty. To be honest, the mozzarella sticks were some of the best I ever had. I also love Kura sushi which is a very similar revolving sushi bar place so I am comparing it to that. This place relies more on the tablet ordering than the conveyor belt while Kura relies on the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt here had some things labeled, most of it was unlabeled which was a little annoying. Everything at Kura is labeled. Kura is pricing per plate while this place is all you can eat - which I do prefer. I think this place has way more selection while Kura has more or less the same items. I still love this place but overall, I do prefer Kura more. Both places definitely have pros and cons though. The service was great as well. Everyone was friendly and knowledgable. Regardless, I will be back and would recommend.

I came with a party of 4 and was only allowed to order every 5 minutes, as the iPad will time out and not allow you to order again. Understand this might be due to food waste or over ordering. The conveyor belt can use signs, and at some point of times it was only fruits or seaweed salad spinning around. Standouts include salmon, squid and scallops. Concept is cute and restaurant is bright and clean, but I think it becomes tough at an all you can eat when you have to keep waiting to eat or order. Especially if you come hungry!

Maybe quality isn't as good as the top omakase places in NYC but still very good. Make sure you check out the specials behind the sushi counter. Inside is clean as it should be for a sushi place. The booth tables had too much space between the table and the seats. Service was nice but there was one lady for the whole restaurant and it was sometimes hard to get her attention. Highly recommended. Much better than 95% of the fake Japanese restaurants in NJ.
