The 4 star review is basically for our server - an older Japanese man who really took care of the table well, and for our Hibachi cook - one of the best we've had at a Shogun. Very entertaining for the kids at the table, and did a good job on getting everything cooked well for our large party. I apologize to him for not getting his name so he could be recognized in this review. As far as the food goes, Shogun is decent Hibachi cooking, not really a whole lot to write home about, but this Shogun's food is significantly better than the one closer to Montgomery on 105.

The service is also excellent--friendly, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. Their fried rice is another standout, and if you're a fan of traditional soups, they do those really well too. There's a great variety on the menu, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you're getting. If you're looking for a new sushi spot that's convenient, affordable, and genuinely delivers on quality and service, I'd definitely give Kyu Sushi a try. As others have mentioned, service was gracious and very friendly. The team appeared to be genuinely interested in our experience. There were six of us, and, we all enjoyed our food. The ingredients are clearly fresh and of excellent quality. Most said what they ordered was delicious. However, there were a couple of opportunities for improvement. My sister found her soup to be under seasoned, and we found the crab Rangoon to be on the smaller side. Also, the order came with 4 instead of the 6 we usually receive. I ordered the Omakase and was really looking forward to seeing the chef exercise some creativity here, something I've come to love about omakase experiences. What I received was honestly just simple nigiri, with nothing added or special about each bite. Every other omakase experience I've had presents a twist or spark that differentiates the nigiri or bite from any other (with a dab of this or a splash of that) and I was hoping for a bit of that. Still, we all enjoyed the meal, and we agreed we will be back.

We had a fairly large group and we all choose the all you can eat option which was a very good deal. The food here was outstanding. The service here was fantastic and the wait staff was quick and on top of everything. My biggest complaint was that the kitchen kept mixing up the orders for all the individuals and as they brought out the plates the dishes were mixed on the platter and no one, including the waiter was sure who got what. There were even a lot of dishes we did not even receive and had to reorder. I know we had a large group and I understand that Oishi Sushi had only just opened a short time ago but I have never had this issue at any sushi restaurant before. The staff seemed just kind of confused at every part of the dining process and barely address you. The food was maybe half a step above room temperature and the water had a really strange taste that was kind of reminiscent of chemicals, soap, and some kind of bacteria all at once, there were plates that weren't very clean, and all the food tasted horribly off. My friend and I didn't even finish the one plate we made and completely lost our appetites. Both of us felt sick after what little we ate and my stomach was in so much pain. If I was more confrontational, I would've demanded a refund or some kind of compensation because of how horrible our experience was but we just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. There are better buffets in the area that aren't walking health hazards. Please try those places instead if you're looking for one.

Got a nice discount coupon before my birthday and decided to use it for dinner. While waiting for my friend I was asked several times if I had been waited on. They are very attentive on service here. The food was good. They have several dips. We both preferred the mustard one, great on the rice also. The manager took a pic for us and brought it back in a frame. He came by several times to be sure we were happy. The location was very clean. There is a variety of seating options to be entertained or to just enjoy quiet conversation.
