Jan, Keith, Pete, Charlie and Doug, are all extremely knowledgeable, competent, friendly, passionate and honest... I can't think of a better place to go for anything to do with cycling, whether you're just starting out, you're competitive, or somewhere in between. Simply put, they are the best, hands down!

After renting kayaks and having so much fun, we decided to buy our own and come back! $5 to launch…read moretour own boat/paddle pad..BUT We came with family who RENTED kayak, but we were treated disrespectfully by a staff/kids working the ramp. Since this was our first time using our own boats at this location we attempted to use the self launch dock, however we were uneasy with it and were unsure as our first time (walking down stairs and a free floating dock you put your boat next to) We went to the other launch dock where there were others who rented boats waiting their turn to get out. We were waiting our turns as well as family going with us, to launch but one of the kids who was working was snobby saying "you can't be over here during busy times like this" and rolled his eyes when we explained we we uneasy at the other dock. As paying customers, I was appalled at how we were treated by some young man as we told him we didn't feel safe using the other dock as OUR FIRST TIME We were fully aware there was a free boat launch down the road however we were with family and wanted to all stay together since they had to rent theirs. Next time I will save myself the hassle and disrespect from some child staff who can't properly communicate

This experienced happened in December and I gave the company a good period of time to respond to me…read moreand they haven't, so I'm putting my warning out to any new potential shoppers. TLDR: They do not put the proper prices on their tags so when you arrive at the register they expect you to pay a higher amount than indicated on the tag because they have to "go by the price in the system." They hands down have one of the best ski/snowboard apparel selections in all of CT, but with shady pricing like this, I'll take my business elsewhere. In the end I found the same items I was looking for at a place in PA. This is my email complaint: "I just spent about an hour and a half in your Avon store. I had a wonderful experience with the gentleman helping me decide between two different sets of ski pants and jackets. After working it through with him to decide on the final choices I went to the register. I purchased pants and a jacket totaling $620 then I realized that the jacket came up priced at $60 more than it should have. The tag on the jacket says $300 and your system said $360. The person who was ringing me out would not honor the $300 price as shown on the tag. As a result, I returned the entire order. And I'm very disappointed in my experience. I've purchased from you before and I appreciate the large selection of options that you have and I'm really disappointed that because the price was not marked appropriately that I would be the one that would take the hit and not you.

Bob's Sport Chalet, STAY AWAY, don't do business with this creepy owner…read more I ordered two very expensive items and they never arrived. I contacted customer service and the same person, a man always answers the phone. I'm assuming it's the owner. He told me he would check on the order and get back to me. He never got back to me. Weeks went by and finally I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute. I just happened to be at the post office picking up another package and when they went back to get it, when they came back out the postal worker said "oh do you know you have another package here for you?" The package from Bob's Sport Chalet had been sitting at the post office for weeks. The man in Customer Service never followed up on the package and it's whereabouts. I immediately contacted customer service at Bob's Sport Chalet and was treated extremely rude and yelled at by the same man that I spoke to in the beginning. (The Owner). Bob's Sports Chalet is owned and managed by Bill and Belinda Gonsalves of Bristol CT. The success of the business is by emphasizing the quality of service. I can't believe they have the nerve to put this in their ads in on their website. He very specifically said he would not give me a refund and they don't deal with people who file a dispute. He hung up the phone. I called back numerous times only to be hung up on again and be cursed out. He's a despicable man and a bully! I'm out almost $500, no fault of my own. The owner didn't care that the items were brand new packages and were sitting at the post office and it was not my fault that they were never delivered. I had every right to file a dispute. This is a horrible business and as you can see if you read the other yelp reviews, it's happened to many others. Please stay as far away from this company as possible, if you value your money and have any Integrity. This company doesn't care about their customers at all!

I bought a treadmill and elliptical and they dinged up my walls and scratched my floor. I literally have dents in my wall and floor. When I called to complain I was told they have an iron clad contract and everything is covered. I was also told I should have hung blankets on wall to prevent damage...really?! How do you hang blankets on your wall?? I asked to speak to a manager and was told there isn't one. David informed me that his male manager will not return my calls. The next thing I know I receive a call from a woman who happens to be the service coordinator stating she was told I wanted to express my concerns. I know she wasn't the manager! She offered me a service check on my machines in one year but that was the best she could do. Ridiculous!

I entered the store and asked if the sales associate would put on a mask so that I could enter safely ( and for the sake of the elderly couple) The associate FLAT OUT refused!! I was shocked and stated I would not shop there or give them my business.... The salesman literally shrugged his shoulders and rolled his eyes at me. Wow! How can you stay in business with such lack of concern for your customers? looks like you lost a major sale for a stupid reason! Plus potentially infecting your customers.... and yourself? I am so disturbed! Definitely shows the lack of concern for customers and client service at this store! Don't even bother going here!
