I booked a full highlight and haircut for noon, and on the morning of my appointment, my stylist asked if I could move to 2 PM to better accommodate her schedule. I agreed. After processing my highlights, my hair was washed and toned. My hair is very fine, but I have a lot of it, and it tangles easily. She then spent nearly an hour detangling my wet hair with an extremely fine-toothed comb, which I have never experienced a stylist using to detangle wet hair. At no point was I told I would be charged an additional fee for this or that the time spent detangling meant there would no longer be enough time to complete my haircut. After about 2.5 hours, my appointment was abruptly ended because the next client was waiting. I was sent home with my hair soaking wet and uncut and told I would have to come back another day to finish the service I had originally booked. I was then charged $225: $140 for highlights, $25 for additional product, $25 for toner, and an unexpected $35 "detangling fee" that was never discussed with me beforehand. I called the salon twice afterward because I was so frustrated with how this was handled. My stylist later explained that she couldn't finish my appointment because she had already pushed her next client back 30 minutes. I found that particularly frustrating considering I had moved my own appointment by two hours that same day specifically to accommodate her schedule. I understand that appointments can run long and additional product can cost more. What I don't find acceptable is adding an undisclosed fee and ending a booked highlight-and-cut appointment without completing the cut or even drying my hair because the next client was waiting. I was offered another appointment to come back for the haircut, but after this experience, I have no desire to return.

Now let me give you a little back story on this. She is bat shit crazy religious and kept forcing her religion upon me the whole time I got my hair done. She prayed for me (which was ok) but then she took it too far. She forced me to read bible versus' aloud to her and very angrily told me that I "better apologize to God for not believing in him" She did not go one sentence without trying to force her religion upon me. I was very, very uncomfortable. So, not only am I out $220, my hair is horrible, I have to pay another salon to fix it, I have to damage my hair even more with chemicals, I have to get my hair cut shorter YET AGAIN, and the crazy chick called me the Devil. Let's just say, never go there. Ever. Like, at all. But thank you SO much to Regis Salons for giving me a discount and offering to fix my hair.

Let's say I walked in today and HAD to try a different place because they didn't have my reservation and didn't even seem concerned. They acknowledged they made the reservation, but since they were busy they couldn't do it. They said I they had openings later this week. I left work early to get there and just getting the appointment took days and was more work than I generally want to do for a service. So, when they didn't apologize and couldn't honor their agreement, I left. (I was not rude prior to leaving, even then I just said it was too much work and I had left work early, so no I didn't want more of their 'service'.) Went less than a mile down the street to a much more upscale salon and was able to get my hair cut right away for a very reasonable price. Unless you need to be patriotic (there's a big flag behind the empty reception area) while getting your hair cut, or have time to be jerked around, go somewhere else!
