I travel a lot for work and this is my favorite Sephora that I have been to.. I'm in Lansing for a year so I frequent this location at least once or twice a month. Everyone is super helpful and nice. They never give me a hard time if I need to return something and although I'm pretty versed in what I need, they have good recommendations. Horrible experience every time. I have been to Sephora 10 times in the past 3 months looking for the Freck freckle pen. The app always says it's in stock, but then I show up and it's never in stock. They always come up with the same excuse that people steal the product. This can't be true tho for how often I show up to this Sephora, at least one should be in stock. Get it together and update your system Sephora. What happens when I buy the product online for store pick up that will be ready in a hour and it's out of stock? So disappointed, stop coming up with excuses and do your job!!! read more

I wish it was easier to go into this store while looking like crap. You need to hire someone to purposely look bad (2005 eyebrows, eyeshadow and layering) to encourage customers who aren't beautiful. I don't wear makeup myself but I go in sometimes to look at the skincare. 4/5 stars because the cosmetics do look pretty tasty. read more

Full disclosure: I have historically been a pretty firm member of Team Ulta. I'd never been to a Sephora before, but a friend wanted to pick up some Kat Von D products so we went here, and...whoo boy. I would say I've never been so insulted in all my life, but that would insinuate that the undermoisturized, poorly aging saleslady who cornered me the instant I walked in under the guise of "helping" me had been intelligent enough to formulate an actual well-played insult rather than just unhinging her jaw and letting whatever popped into her mind tumble out with no regard to human decency. First she tried to bully me into buying foundation/blush/other facial makeup (to the tune of $60 per item, after telling her I don't wear any & never have), snidely assuring me that it'd "cover up all that red". Ok, cute little attempt at a neg there, except I'd had a facial wax not even half an hour before I walked in and ANYONE would be a little red after that. I tried to mention this to her, and instead of listening to me, she started trying to discourage me from examining the auburn eyebrow pencils, saying that I, with my red hair and brown eyebrows, should use...light blonde? Any actual questions I had about the chemistry of certain ingredients was clumsily deflected by a fumbling sales pitch, and when that failed to get through, she just walked right away from me. I've never experienced such a mean-spirited and wholly ignorant sales approach before, made all the more brazen by the fact that her own makeup and clothing color scheme could only have been described as "stale piece of Wonder Bread toasted on lowest setting". On top of that, frankly, I am extremely good at what I do with makeup, so this was like having Ray Charles give Ansel Adams advice on his composition. If I wanted to be negged by colorblind, insecure, khaki-wearing Lilliputian pinnacles of Rust Belt mediocrity, I'd go flash some leg at the pub four doors down and wait for takers. read more

Excellent customer service and good variety of high end products. Unlike Ulta you can request a sample of just about anything and play with products without restraint. Sadly they don't have sales, like ever. read more

They have a decent selection but very poor customer service. This specific location at the Eastwood town center mall is staffed by employees that have an immature demeanor combined with high pressure tactics. For instance, my daughter and I recently asked about a product. One employee kindly helped us. However we did not like the product. To which she said "so will you take it home?". When i told her that i didn't like how the product felt or how it looked. I was then referred to a make up artist (no problem). So after waiting for 20 min the young lady said to me: "you know I don't have time to help you with any other product. We can only try on the shade picked out for you". I bid her a nice day and left. I will never go back again. They are rude, high pressure and unwilling to answer questions to help find the best product. read more

The employees are absolutely horrible, inconsiderate, and rude. Since stores can only have a certain amount of people inside, we were waiting outside with our 7 month old baby. Multiple people were walking out, so we asked if we could go in. The employee outside says "in a minute" and proceeds to check out people. We walk in after several minutes, and I instantly get attacked by a different employee for not having my mask over my nose, when in actuality it was, it just wasn't touching my eyebrows like how they expected it to. I have now had several great experiences with Sephora since this location at Eastwood town center. This place has been quite the revelation for me as i normally buy beauty supplies at department store or (gasp) drug stores. The staff is well trained and willing to help, want a new lip color, the staff will show you options and even apply them so that you get exactly what you want and they will teach you how to apply it. I had my make up done buy Mallory for my wedding day and I would definitely recommend the service to anyone who wants to feel flawless our learn a bit more about what might look best on them. She was wonderfully nice and explained to products she was using and how I can use them at home. I got great new foundation matched to my skin and a lip color that I love! Can't recommend Mallory enough and the Sephora experience in general.I have been back sevral times and will go back again regularly. read more

The literal worst Sephora that's ever existed. I've never been so disrespected. The point of employees in a store is to HELP and SELL. The employees in this store are rude and unhelpful. It's sad because I came in with money wanting to buy products but their nasty attitudes instantly turned me off and I took my money elsewhere. This Sephora is a disappointment. The employees aren't knowledgable about basic products and are hard to track down when you have a question. I really like this location! I have always kind of avoided sephora because I felt judged and staff was always bitchy girls that only helped people that looked like they had money. I could only avoid it till I needed a brand ulta didn't have. I wanted the Kat Von D contour palette so I had to come here. They are so attentive at this location. Sephora can be intimidating and is one of the only retail places I actually want staff to come up and ask me if they can help me find anything. The girls at this location are great about that. I'm always greeted every time I come in (the same with and without makeup on) and they check in with me to make sure I'm still finding everything okay during my visit. Tonight I came in to return a face mask that didn't work for me and they did it no problem. I had her put it on an in store credit because I planned to shop around. I knew I wanted the Anastasia dip brow pomade but I wasn't sure which color. I thought I was medium brown or dark brown.. I swatched them on my hand and one of the girls approached me and offered the brow brush to try it on my face so I could see it on and she also recommended the ash brown which didn't even cross my mind as an option for me. I tried it on and ended up going with the ash brown and even bought the brush. I was very pleased.This location is awesome! Don't be intimidated by the prices. I love shopping here but my god some of the staff creep me out. They're like the sales associate version of Stepford wives or something. Now typically I don't go in "dressed up" like a lot of girls do and usually just stop on in when I'm errand-running in the neighborhood since I like grabbing some masks and browsing quickly while I'm there. I swear the staff watch my ass like hawks. And they're always. freaking. smiling. Like you wouldn't assume that to be a bad thing but they do it so much it's unnatural and creepy; The Stepford wife behavior I mentioned. There's ways to be helpful and personable without crossing the artificial, plasticine, "weird" barrier and they have the "weird" part nailed down to a science. They also comment on my hair and what I'm wearing almost every time I'm there and trust me when I say I go in looking like a frump so their remarks are almost patronizing. Like "Omg your hair's SO cute. Omg did you change your hair color? Omg your hair". No. No. I've done nothing different. It's literally the same every time I come in here. Then there's the obligatory "OMG I loooooove your lipstick". Okay. Thanks for the artificial complement. Bye. Recently I just asked if they had a product in stock. Firstly they had no clue what I was talking about which was odd since the product was from a major name which they carry and has been a huge thing on the internet lately. They looked at me like I was making stuff up when I asked them about it which rubbed me wrong. Regardless, they didn't have it and had three different people rush up to me to explain they didn't have it at their location yet. Okay. Cool. Whatever. I kept browsing. I look up and at least two associates are looking at me. Both with those fake, plastic smiles plastered on their faces. I continue to the back of the store when one associate I hadn't even talked to prior rushes up to me to explain why they didn't have the item I had asked about a couple minutes ago. Okaaaaayyyy. I get it. You don't have it. Get away from me. Good god. I've also had some of the staff remark on how often I'm there. Like that's a bad thing? I go there maybe once a week to every other week to buy their masks which I use weekly. Big deal. I was browsing once near the cash register and heard one of the staff laughing and there wasn't a lot of people around so I looked up to see what she was laughing at. I was like what?
