After having a bad experience with a dentist quite a few years ago, I hadn't been to a dentist for some time. One of my wisdom teeth began to give me some serious trouble, so it was (well past) time to go see a dentist. My brother recommended Dr. Yun as his whole family has been using his services for quite a few years.
The office staff were very helpful. First we had a consultation and x-rays to assess the general state of my dental health. The wisdom tooth needed to come out first, so Dr. Yun referred me to several specialists locally who could extract the tooth, and one of them removed the tooth later that week without much complication or swelling. During the consultation, we made out a preliminary schedule of other trouble spots that would need attention, some more pressing than others. It turns out my mouth was not in as rough shape as I thought it might be, but it did need some work. Over the last 3 years, we've done several fillings and one crown. The fit is good, they look good, and I am especially thankful that my mouth feels much better. The machine which forms your fitted filling or crown has a window on top if you want to watch it take shape--that was fascinating.
I've worked with about 2/3 of the staff at their office, and they have a gentle touch during dental cleanings which my mouth appreciates. When Dr. Yun has applies the local anesthetic before doing a filling, he says, "You might feel a bit of a poke," but I barely felt anything at all. They all try to be careful with your mouth. They take time to explain why they are doing what they do, and they use a light touch in offering helpful practical advice and product suggestions to help you take care of your mouth.
They even put some thought into choosing an office and decor that make the environment as pleasant as it reasonably can be: the reception area and various rooms went through a remodel just before I began going there, and the windows on all the rooms (many near evergreens) give the place a lot of natural light. You can watch TV mounted on the ceiling while you're lying flat during the work--the headphones and remote let you choose what to watch. I usually watch golf or listen to the jazz music channel. :) There is also an elevator to the second floor for any patients who might find stairs a bit challenging.
My experience over the last three years is that Dr. Yun and his staff pay attention to both the big and little things as they work to take care of their patients. I am glad to have them helping me take care of my dental health. And actually, I wish I'd gone to them sooner. read more
