Tried Benedict's upon recommendation from someone we met at dinner last night. It was, conveniently, a one minute walk from our VRBO. The ordering process was unique: they had several placard type menus available and we ordered from a standalone kiosk. My wife, rarely hungry in the morning, got a mocha. Besides, we had a big lunch planned. I ordered the BAT Benedict, which had bacon, avocado and tomato on an English muffin with perfectly cooked poached eggs, all smothered in hollandaise sauce. It all came to $27.42. The restaurant , a small streamline trailer, had only outdoor seating on their deck, with about 10 tables. There was a ramp to get onto the deck. Our order came in about eight minutes. The Benedict came with crispy potatoes and an excellent red salsa plus guac. They had plastic ware that actually held up to cutting through crispy, thick bacon, packets of salt/pepper, napkins and such available. I would definitely eat there again but, sadly we are leaving tomorrow. read more

We were in the area and wanted to explore this little Oceanside town. We stumbled across Benedict's based upon other Yelp reviews and knowing that it was outdoor seating only. It would be okay and much more enjoyable if you didn't have to sit out in the blazing sun, so I am not sure why they don't bother with umbrellas. It is a very impersonable experience from beginning to end. Ordering is done at the single kiosk only. Then you hope to be able to hear your order number be called from the Airstream trailer where all the cooking is done. The concept is cute. The menu consists of only breakfast items such as omelettes, avocado toast, benedicts, and breakfast sandwiches. Well prices on the high side considering the setup here, portions are quite large. You may consider sharing a plate if you are not coming here starving. Service can be a hit or miss depending on how many staff members are working when you have your order placed. In the case of ours, for a good period of time there was only one cook and so it was quite a wait. But soon after, another two team members came back from out of nowhere. So perhaps customers who ordered after us were served more quickly. Benedict's located in the front parking lot of a local motel. So if you are staying here, it can be quite convenient. We got the breakfast burrito that we ended up splitting because it was a lot of food! The only thing is if they could fix up the tables in their seating area 30% of them are broken or teetering unfortunately. They are usually pretty busy so you kinda just have to accept it. read more

Wow! I'm so glad we found this spot on Yelp! It's a cute little outdoor area where you order from a kiosk and wait for your food. I wish they had more shade, since it did get pretty hot.. but the food was amazing! We got the breakfast sandwich, which had sooo much flavor. We also ordered the breakfast wrap, which was also good. Stumbled upon this place looking for a quick bite on our last day of our SD trip and Benedict's was in walking distance. Expectations were low, but we were pleasantly surprised! Long line on a Sunday morning to order at the kiosk, however it moved fast and food came out pretty quickly. Many others here were also in and out so we were able to grab one of the outside tables. Why we waited to try this amazing restaurant in an airstream trailer that was on-site of our hotel(Ocean Villa Inn) in Ocean Beach , I do not know! This place we tried on our last day in OB, just before packing up the room to head home. The breakfast sandwich was so large that only half could be eaten at breakfast. Both the other half and rest of bacon my dog, Kai, did not eat was also my dinner on arriving home that night! This sandwich was delicious! You have found the best breakfast spot around! We got the Farmhouse Benedict (amazing! The chipotle sauce and all the veggies and the garlic butter English muffin, yum!!!) and the Bacon Egg and Cheese Omelet (huge and cheesy!) and got both with potatoes (exactly what you envision breakfast potatoes to be). We shared it between my husband and I and two kids and it was the perfect amount of food (and the price was right for the generous portions!). We also got a latte (sugar is available on site to sweeten to your taste) and Americano and we're happy with those too. I ordered online ahead of time and it was ready right when we got there. Solid 4.5 stars So this place came up on my IG and it looked good. I went on a Wednesday morning and street parking was easy to find. I ordered through their Kiosk. Their prices are more than what is displayed on their website just to note- I got a breakfast sandwich which is now $19 and an orange juice $4.50. Once you place your order, just go take a seat and listen for your name. Just as everyone mentioned, their portions are pretty big. The sandwich includes scrambled eggs and cheese and a protein- I chose bacon. You can choose between potatoes or mixed greens. Taste wise, it was good. Nice butter brioche bread. You can't really mess up scrambled eggs and cheese, and they also give you a little cup of their green sauce. The sauce (cilantro base)was flavorful but just a tad bit salty for me. I was only able to eat half of that sandwich it's that big. I'm not sure if the orange juice is freshly squeezed but it tasted like it. Was very refreshing. Huge portion sizes and good food for a great price! We got a breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, bacon and cheddar omelet, and a side of scrambled eggs/potatoes. I had the avocado toast and it was delicious! I usually complain that places don't have enough avo on their avocado toast but this place loaded it on. When I held the ends of the toast it sagged in the middle from the weight of all the toppings, which is an A+ for me. My only complaint was that most of the tables had crumbs/dirt on them and could use more regular cleaning. read more

T Benedict which is a spin on a traditional Benedict and comes with bacon and avocado and some other goodies. It also comes with potatoes on the side. I'm not exaggerating, this is one of the best eggs Benedicts I've ever had in my life! Not to be a branch snob but I was very taken back about how amazing this was! 3.5 stars is my final answer. I was looking for more casual breakfast places and stumbled upon Benedict's. The breakfast sandwich is massive and comes with a heap of potatoes, and it sounds delicious on paper - garlic brioche, eggs, cheese, protein? What's not to love? But I have to say, it was suuuper heavy and very one-note in the flavors, and with the fried potatoes too... it was food coma level with not enough tastiness to be worth it, in my opinion. I would definitely recommend sharing unless you want to tote around leftovers. In terms of the vibes - I get the charm of it being a food truck by Mission Beach, however, there's really just not enough seating, and it can get awkward and cramped in terms of where to wait. Plus, unless you're staying close by or visiting that area already, it's a little out-of-the-way with difficult street parking depending on the day. All in all, I would say that unless it's a very specific set of circumstances, Benedict's isn't worth the hassle to me. read more

Benedict's Brunch! When got here around 10a and so did everyone else in the neighborhood . At first we didn't think we were going to have somewhere to sit but we did end up getting a table. So you order first and then sit. You order from the kiosk and they will yell your name when it's ready. Make sure you're paying attention so they don't have to yell your name more than once. I ordered the Traditional Benedict with an iced caramel latte with oat milk and my friend ordered the Breakfast Sandwich with a White Chocolate Mocha. Both of dishes came with a side of potatoes. Everything was really good. No complaints except flies. But that's what you sign up for when you eat outside. So if you just can't do the fly thing, get your food to go because there is no indoor seating here. They are also dog friendly! read more

On the weekends it's packed and there's limited seating so I would recommend coming in a weekday or planning to take to go and walk to the beach 5 minutes away. It's all self serve, order at the kiosk. they get you your food as fast as possible depending how busy it is - expect 15 minute wait even if they're not packed just because it's all made fresh. The potatoes were cooked perfectly: crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The traditional smoothie was very good, with a strong berry flavor. This whole place is outdoors. We came on a morning that it had sprinkled so all of the chairs and tables were still wet. There were empty tables but the area surrounding the ordering area at the window/RV seemed crowded. There was a menu posted but no prices. What's with these places that aren't posting their prices?? I think it's odd. I had to look online after sifting through pop-ups to see their menu and prices. As I was waiting, it was much too crowded for me to stand with my dogs so we ended up leaving and didn't get to try the food! Cute little spot in OB. Staff interaction was limited as they make you order from a kiosk and they bring out the food to your table. I requested ketchup but they were out but then a staff member came back and got me some which was really nice. The tables were chipped and full of splinters. Not comfortable. Food was the best part of this whole experience, eggs benedict were cooked perfectly. Sauce they pour on top is creamy and flavorful. The potatoes are decent enough. The sauce on the side is really good as well. My friends order was missing an item which was corrected after bringing it up to the staff. They have drinks like coffee, matcha lattes, orange juice, etc. Overall, im glad i got to try this place but i was not blown away. The process of ordering can use some fine tuning.
