After surgery I can definitively say that they were not mistaken. From the first day I walked into his office, I KNEW it was the right place to be. I am a little over six months out of an arm and breast lift to reduce excess skin following massive weight loss. I initially chose Dr. Angeles due to his calm demeanor, reviews online, and word from people who have had surgery with him. The surgery experience was very odd. He operated at a new facility in town (I found out later they weren't accredited) who rushed me out while I was still waking up from anesthesia. Dr. Angeles wasn't around. He called me once after surgery but after that I only ever spoke to his nurse about concerns and issues. My arms and breasts seemed to take a long time to heal with lots of spitting stitches. Every time I spoke to a nurse I was told it was nothing. I decided to book the rest of my skin removal with him -- a tummy tuck -- and paid the deposit. About a month and a half prior to my surgery date Dr. Angeles called and left a message on my phone late at night explaining that the surgery center he works out of was no longer doing surgeries and my tummy tuck was canceled. He suggested, instead, that I do the Tummy Tuck in his office without general anesthesia -- definitely not common practice. I asked for my deposit back and decided to go with another doctor. What followed was a series of sudden weird billing issues (surprise! the bill that I paid in advance to surgery came back HIGHER after I asked for my tummy tuck deposit back!), and really odd stories. Nothing really added up correctly. After calling around to some of the surgery centers in town I found interesting stories about his business practices. Meanwhile, I was still dealing with issues from my arms and breasts with little to no concern from Dr. Angeles and his nurses. I can say that I'm genuinely glad for the debacle with the the tummy tuck because it lead me to an AMAZING plastic surgeon who showed me what a truly skilled doctor is capable of and what a GOOD aftercare looks like. My new doctor (as well as the two other surgeons I had consults with for my tummy tuck!) confirmed that what occurred with my arms and breasts is not normal. To have spitting stitches and opening incisions SIX MONTHS post op is absurd. Every time I've gone to see Dr. Angeles it's been a waste of my time. I don't trust him or his team. I'm a little over eight weeks out of extended tummy tuck with abdominal repair done by a different surgeon and that work feels healed and nearly normal. My arms and breasts done by Dr. Angeles six months ago still cause issues and ache. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I feel it is an obligation to show the full story for people who might be considering using him. Buyer beware. Consult MANY doctors and talk to surgery facilities in town before you decide on one. read more

There is not a more conscientious, caring, and talented surgeon in Central Oregon than Dr. Angeles. I had surgery shortly before moving back to Bend in November (with another Plastic Surgeon in Washington State), and developed post-surgical complications once I was here. I couldn't start a new job and was down for the count. Dr. Angeles agreed to take on my case, and has cared for me through a second surgery and more post-surgical care splendidly. He genuinely invests himself into the well-being of his patients. Dr. Angeles also employs the most wonderful staff at Bend Plastic Surgery. Dr. Angeles and staff are excellent! They are kind, professional and thorough. Dr. Angeles was very supportive of my decision for an explantation procedure of 19 year old textured breast implants. Due to a large list of BII (breast implant illness) symptoms, explantation proved to be the best option. My procedure was 2/21/23. Already, just 3 months post-op, a number of symptoms are gone! Migrating joint pain, tinnitus, migraine headaches, chest heaviness, breathing issues...all have disappeared or improved to the point of not being a factor in my current health and well-being. At 50 years old, health and well-being are primary driving forces in most decisions we make. Looking back, we wished we would've made the explantation decision a decade ago! I cannot recommend Dr. Angeles and his office more, or, recommend the explantation procedure more...finding the right surgeon and staff is a daunting task - stop your search now! If you're reading this review, chances are you're considering plastic surgery and Dr. Angeles is on your list. Perhaps you've heard good things or maybe you're heard the rumors. If you get nothing else from this article, please just listen to my one piece of advice. RUN AWAY. Quickly. The unsanitary methods Dr. Angeles uses in the O.R. have lead to NUMBEROUS INFECTIONS which have caused PERMANENT DAMAGE to many women's breasts in the Central Oregon area. Remember, in plastic surgery, if things go wrong, you waive all your rights and have zero recourse against your surgeon. None. If you would like to read my personal story and battle, feel free to read on... I am a single mom who was divorced in my late 20s and back on the dating market with post-breastfeeding breasts, meaning nothing was left but saggy bags. I saved for a couple of years and decided to get a breast augmentation. I went to Bend Plastic Surgery and met Dr. Angeles and his medical assistant (who conveniently happens to double as his defense lawyer), and agreed to get surgery. 3 weeks later I'm on the table with 10 days scheduled off for work, child care arranged for that time and just a huge prayer that things would go well in the O.R. with my breasts. I was put under, operated on and then sent home that day. No drain shunt was placed, improper doses of antibiotics were perscribed and operating procedures in his, should be sterile, O.R. left much to be desired. Within a few weeks my left breast developed a serious infection, despite my resting, never drinking, never smoking and following all instructions to the letter. The infection became terribly painful and I could barely wear a bra. After 3 months it hurt so bad I was finally forced to get another surgery to replace that one, which was yet another 5k out of my pocket that I had to get a medical loan on. Additionally, the infection had cause scar tissue damage and caused my left breast to rise a lot higher than the other one. Little did I know, when Dr. Angeles was 'replacing' my implant, he instead cut his own costs and used the INFECTED IMPLANT, rinsed in it salt water and put it back in my breast without me knowing. About 2 weeks after the 2nd surgery, I could tell the infection had not gone away and the breast was getting higher than before this time. Keep in mind that over this 6 month period of surgery, healing, more surgery, more time off, more healing...I'm trying to date and I'm mortified for anyone to see how terrible my miss shapen breasts now look. Once the pain from the 2nd infection had become too great to bear, I started to call and write Dr. Angeles, begging him to fix it or at least remove it to stop the pain. He refused and sent his attorney medical assistant after me with threats and denial. I asked, are you really going to leave a single mom in this much pain when I've spent every dollar on this process I had, even my savings? She replied, we can't afford to be taking hits and treating people for free. If you can't handle this, get an attorney. Well no one would touch him cause he's their 'professional witness' in their other medical court cases, no one in Oregon at least. So then I'm forced to go to another doctor to get it fixed, got another loan and was able to get my implant removed. I was told I had to live misshapen for about 1 year while things healed. So the following year I saved more money and got a new surgery to put the implant back. More money, more time off, more healing, more pain and more embarrassment while dating. Got the surgery to put a brand new implant in and sure enough, the scar tissue is too beat up to drop the implant down correctly. Here I am now, 4 years later, with one stupid high breast and one nice low one. I can't understand why someone would not back their work or pay someone else to fix it. Because scar tissue builds with each surgery, I'm now stuck with this for my life. Now, my only option is to get one last surgery and have right breast raised up to meet my poor, bumpy, scarred left one. Yet another cost I get to incur for one poor choice...picking the wrong doctor. Please don't do the same thing! I posted photos, let me know if they get removed. I tried to cover up enough to be Web appropriate. Top left is the hard, infected breast, top right is the year I lived without a breast, and bottom is how I have to live for the rest of my life. Dr. Angeles is my surgeon for so many issues, mainly for the repair of m.r.s.a. that ate me from the inside out leaving my abdomen seriously damaged. I got it from a surgery at the hosp. not from Dr.Angeles but prior surgery, he repaired me and went above and beyond any sanitary practices I have ever seen right down to disenfecting my entire self before the reconstruction. I was referred to Dr. Angeles by my dermatologist for removal of a mole on my toe. Dr. Angeles was very friendly. My rating is for the clinic itself. I was not informed by the clinic that Dr. Angeles was out of network with my insurance. As a result, I was charged just under $500.00 for a five minute appointment, in which Dr. Angeles told me the mole needed to be removed, which I already knew. After several phone calls and much difficulty I was finally able to get the clinic to change my bill to a cash charge, rather than running it through my insurance. It cut my bill in half. I'm sure that Dr. Angeles does good work, but I will not return to the clinic due to the way this was handled from start to finish. read more
