Initial expectations were set somewhere between "functional" and "doesn't scare small children". Dr. Vial exceeded my expectations, even when they were set comically low. The reconstruction, reduction, and lift was a journey. A journey that involved discomfort, self-doubt, and the urge to question life decisions. Dr. Vial's calm demeanor and reassuring presence were surprisingly effective at keeping the inner monologue of panic at bay. He explained the options in detail, and somehow made it seem that a new, improved silhouette was possible. The results? My wardrobe is experiencing a renaissance. I can put on a shirt that previously I had struggled with, bra lines showing, boobs not at the right height, and would, most times, throw it in the "hell no" pile. Now? Now I put it on and think to myself, "Wow. That's what it should look like! Hell YES!" The symmetry is spot-on, the lift is a "lift", and the reduction? EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND ZERO COMPASSION IF YOU HAVE A RUPTURE AND NEED AN EXPLANT DO NOT USE THIS DR I had a Consult with Dr Vial a little over a month ago. I waited to write this because I hate leaving negative reviews I think in 15 years I have maybe written 2. That being said I think my experience is important to share. I paid for a consult to see Dr. Vial to have my ruptured breast implant and intact implant removed. They have been making me ill and causing inflammation for some time now even though I only very recently learned that one was ruptured. A good friend of mine used Dr. Vial and loved her results for her lift and skin removal and my mother used him for her explant and lift as was satisfied with her results. I however did not have the same experience. I went in and spoke with first his PA who gave us the over view of what to expect for what I was asking for as well as showing me some sad and not ideal pictures of finished explants. Mind you I had done my research prior I was very aware that unfortunately my breast won't be beautiful after removing implants and not choosing to replace them so that I could improve my over all health. Dr. Vial came in took a look at my breasts told me that they are 90 percent implant and his words VERBADUM "I can remove them they aren't going to look good, I recommend LEAVING THEM IN" please be advised you CANNOT leave implants that are ruptured in, silicone is toxic! I then told him that I don't feel well and that the implants are making me sick to which he responded "well you are getting older have you thought of taking testosterone" I would like to note here that I am 39 and extremely fit and healthy. I am writing this to save those women out there who are also suffering from BII or ruptures and not in an ideal spot, please I left his office in tears, I want to save you the embarrassment and hurt of dealing with this man. read more

I specifically waited over 6 months after my procedure to write this review. I wanted to be sure I healed without any complications, to see how the aftercare was, and so that I could see my final results first. I can wholeheartedly give Dr. Vial and his entire staff (a special shout-out to his PA, Anna too) provided me with exceptional care from beginning to end. I was listened to and never once was made to feel like a burden with my questions or concerns (Dr. Vial responded personally to a text the day after my procedure). He also was not pushy, which I really appreciated. He left the decisions and choices up to me while providing his medical opinion, but again, without any pushiness or saleslike tactics. Dr. Vial is so meticulous and a perfectionist, which in my opinion, is exactly what you want in a surgeon. I had researched my specific procedure for over 10 years before finally deciding to proceed. I had met with over a handful of surgeons, and Dr. Vial was the easy choice. I never once regretted it. Furthermore, my recovery was practically pain-free. Comparing my consultations with other surgeons, it was plain to see that Dr Vial really goes above and beyond to ensure a recovery that is as painless and comfortable as possible. I'm over the moon with my natural results. If I ever need further procedures, Dr. Vial will be the first and only one I call. Side note, he also helped my family through cancer reconstructive surgery and they also had nothing but phenomenal things to say as well. They also mentioned how easy recovery was from their rather invasive surgery, and we both feel that further proves Dr. Vial is an expert and meticulous at what he does. Dr. Vial was contracted with my insurance, however he talked me out going through the insurance approval process. I agree with Lisa R. He was impatient. Not very many plastic surgeons want to be compassionate when it comes to BII. He could have worked with my insurance to get it covered, but he didn't want to. The fact that my insurance told me that he could, and he wouldn't, costs me $13,000 out of pocket that I paid for my explant surgery through him. Unfortunately, for the thousands of thousands of women that didn't have the new required informed consent patient checklist that is required as of 10/27/2021, are continuing to suffer the side effects from breast implants and cannot come up with $13,000 for removal. Women, like myself, were told they were 100% safe and FDA approved lifetime devises. Maybe plastic surgeons will work with insurance to help them realize that this issue is going to cost them more money in the long run because insurance will have to continue to pay for ongoing health issues. These ongoing health issues are even causing cancers. This is a proven fact coming from the FDA and ASPS. I am currently on the board for the Breast Implant Safety Alliance (BISA). We work directly with the FDA and ASPS and have been invited to be a part of several of their meetings these past few months. Women continue to suffer because we cannot get the help we desperately need! This is NOT the patient's fault. We made a decision where we put trust in the system, the FDA, our surgeons, and they have failed us, and very few want to step up and protect our health and help find a solution to the problem. read more

I went in for a breast augmentation consultation last week. When I called to schedule the appointment the front desk staff was friendly and answered the questions I had. I asked them to give me a general estimate for what I was after and explained the timeline of when I was wanting to get the procedure done before scheduling. I was under the assumption that breast augmentation patients were booked out 4-5 weeks and I was ok with that. Upon arriving for my consultation I was greeted by friendly and professional front desk staff. When I went back to begin my actual consultation the nurse told me that the doctor would take photos, mark me up, show different implant sizes etc. so I expected him to be fairly thorough. I was so wrong. Dr. Nick Vial came in asked me what I was interested in and when I told him breast aug he took the appointment in an entirely different direction. He then recommended fat transfer, had me remove my leggings and proceed to pick my body apart in front of the mirror from cellulite that he said it wouldn't help, to my flanks and thighs. I had told him that it was outside of the what I was wanting to do and he continued to push for it even though it would not get me anywhere close to where I wanted to be in breast size. He then offered repeatedly to give me a referral weight loss (once again not what I came for) and for reference my perfect weight would be 20-30 lbs lighter. I'm not morbidly obese. After I declined that. He told me to lose the weight and come back because they're booked until June or July. No further discussion of implants or breast aug and he walked out.Start to finish he spent 5 minutes tops. It was a waste of $100 and I would not recommend his services. First off, I can come across as a hard person to please, so it is sometimes hard for me to find a doctor/surgeon I like and that will take the time and patience to work with me and get to know me. I am in my 50's and I had a liposuction procedure done by Dr. Vial. I started researching this procedure two years before my surgery. I visited three doctors here in Bend and to be honest coming from a big city, I was a little skeptical about finding someone here. Dr. Vial was the last doctor I consulted with and I felt very satisfied with my consultation and assured that I found the right doctor.
