Rewards programs are great, especially when our dog food costs $65. If there is something you want, but dont see it, they are happy to order it for you. I can't recommend a business that lies to their customers. I used to buy a product there that they had recommended and loved it. I went in to get more and they told me the company went out of business. I went home and found the company online and ordered the product from them. That was one month ago. Today I was there and another customer asked for the same product by name and they told him the company went out of business. I told the customer that he could still get it online and they just kept insisting it was no longer available. That is a LIE. I understand steering a customer to products you sell and believe a comparable but don't lie to people. They have lost me as a future customer because of that. read more

You won't find an employee reading you information off the back of the bag when you have questions about nutrition. I wish we had one locally where we live. The employees were very kind and welcoming by feeding our dog treats as we entered. As we exited they sent us on our way with samples. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years but not anymore. Their customer service has gone down hill & I have seen & heard unprofessional talk from people who work here. An incident happened in the parking lot where my puppies were spooked by a German Shepard left alone in the car. The Shepard was not just barking but lunging to want to attack my puppies. Puppies freak out, got wrapped up around my legs almost tripping me. I tried very hard to tell them to calm down & the discipline to get one of the oldest dogs attention was to get my leash to smack her butt. No beat her. One smack not hard enough to hurt just attention. 3 employees saw PART of what happened & the Bath/Store manager chatted with me. The only one who came to my rescue was a customer leaving the store who was gracious enough to walk my younger pup to the bath area. I was not criticized but belittled that I got very angry when the comment was...If you need to regime your dogs because they are too much for you, we have employees here that will take them! What?! Are you kidding me! I have changed my training techniques that is now working wonders but any sweet dog would get spooked by an aggressive dog. NOT one employee came to my rescue & that bad experience left a huge bad experience. I was going to write a letter to the owner but I also heard that would go on deaf ears. I lost a dog last year, and my two senior dogs have been reacting to a situation each time they go to get a bath. There is something in that environment that is causing a scared behavior from them & I get a "chat" each time. They don't do this at home! So going to a different place or doing it myself. Dogs should be leaving happy not scared. Never again...My instincts are pretty right on! read more

Right when you walk in, you are greeted with a "Hello, can I help you?". I am new to Bend and I give my dog raw food that is made in California. Its a smaller company and I would had thought they wouldn't carry it. They didn't carry it but they did offer to order it for me. Great find here in Bend! Traveled here from Portland and forgot dog food:( Our dog is on a special diet due to allergies and this place was the only store in town that I called who had it. I called three other stores near by with no luck. The store also offered many fun products not carried in my local Portland pet store. And the service was great! I frequent bend pet express and have always liked it but recently I was so impressed with their service while picking out a life jacket for my pup. I have a bulldog who is oddly shaped. Huge chest tiny waist. Finding things to fit him properly is always a challenge. The girls there were amazing, they helped me try on different ones and let me know how they were supposed to fit in order to keep him afloat. We left with a great ruffwear life jacket and couldn't have asked for better customer service. read more

Without question, Bend Pet Express is the best pet store in Bend. They carry only high quality pet food and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. My golden retriever started losing weight and my vet suggested we switch to a higher fat/protein food. I started researching online and got overwhelmed. I went into BPE and told them what I needed and they helped me pick a great food that both of my dogs love. I always buy 2 large bags at a time and have a baby in tow and they always carry the bags out to my car for me. They have a great selection of toys too and a doggie bakery in the store. I had an amazing experience with Bend Pet Express on the westside! Because we are all hunkering down during the Covid-19 outbreak, I was concerned about getting supplies for our 4 month old puppy. Jeremiah was so patient and helpful on the phone. He walked me through a slew of questions about dog food, safe chews for pups and fitting him for a harness. He respected my desires and concerns and offered up great options. He was super knowledgable about the scientific studies regarding grain free, grain friendly, and limited diets for dogs of all ages. He and his lovely colleagues are working around the clock to keep our pets and our neighbors safe from infection. I was met with smiling faces despite the high volume of calls to the store and the need for social distancing and other safety measures. I was going to buy a new harness thinking my growing boy had outgrown it but Jeremiah offered to put on some safety gloves and adjust my current one. He waited until I put it on my dog to make sure I was happy with the fit. This saved me a purchase and now my little buddy can get way more use out of it! This place is legit. Hands down the best pet store I've ever been to. My dog has a ton of allergies and is on a unique diet. When they were out of the food she gets, they searched out a similar kibble and special ordered it for us. This special order food didn't agree with our dog as well as our normal kind. They called as soon as they got our normal food back in! It was two weeks later and the 30 lb special order food was half gone; yet, they took it back no questions asked. I went in here two days ago with my three small dogs looking for a harness for one and a down coat for another. I bought Gooby down vests for my two smaller dogs at home and thought an upscale store like this was surely to carry this quality brand. No dice. Low inventory on dog outerwear. They had some nice waterproof jackets for big dogs but they were $90. They had reversible acrylic filled jackets for $45. (I paid $32 in NW Pdx for the down filled Gooby.) Worse though, I was in there at least 15 minutes wrangling my three dogs alone, one who slipped her oversized harness, and one who went unleashed and wandered and I called to come to me. ... basically a spectacle. Girl behind the counter never took her eyes off the conversation she was as having with a friend at the counter the whole time I was in the store. Another customer came in during that time too and wasn't acknowledged. I could have taken whatever I wanted and walked out. Worse, my husband came looking for us and had the same experience of being ignored by the "snooty" girl behind the counter. Customer service matters especially in a retail market with that kind of markup. I could buy any of their inventory online for less. Hoping the owner does some customer service training. read more
