A good place to pick up those alcohol/liquor purchases to enjoy at your beach house vacation. The Deets: I accompanied some friends to the Brunswick Co. ABC store where they can get some needed beverages to help them enjoy their vacation. This ABC store looks rather new in appearance, just off Hwy 130/Holden Beach Rd, on the mainland just outside Holden Beach going towards Shallotte. It had a good amount of parking and a nice facade, with well marked signage on the road as well. Upon entering, this store appears clean and well stocked with alcohol/liquor/beverages as well as good organization as my friends found what they needed quickly. When they got to the register for checkout, the staff were personable, positive, and helpful. We found a lot of items we never saw before. I asked some questions to the clerks and they were helpful and friendly. The store was clean, bright, and well-stocked. Everything was neat and orderly. Searching for specialty places in the area, we found this gem of a wine and cheese shop! Sounded like just enough and it was fairly close to our hotel. The staff, both Christine and Andrew were helpful and very friendly. We got a card to use the wine dispensers and asked about some of the whites. Andrew suggested a Luca chardonnay that was so yummy we had a couple of glasses. We bought a cheese assortment and rustic crackers that went terrifically well with each other and the wine. By the time we left, Christine and Andrew had made us feel like we were having light refreshments in a friend's home. In fact, it's a small home decorated artistically in various rooms. There is ample parking in the back, as well as patio seating behind the home, and on a small front porch.
