They're located right there on the main drag as you enter Southport which is great for a pit stop on the way in or on the way out of town. The service is walk up which keeps it super casual and fun. I have been here 3 or 4 times and there has never been a food truck when I've been but they have awesome snacks available behind the bar. For just $1 a cup, you can get goldfish, animal crackers, pretzels, and those delicious little peanut butter filled pretzels. After that, we went thrifting and shopping at Goodwill, Lowe's Foods, and Dollar Tree. No drinking. No bar‑hopping. Nothing even close. On our second visit, Geneva gave us water and let us charge a phone -- and I do appreciate that. But being told "you've been out all day" instead of "welcome back" was unnecessary, inaccurate, and frankly insulting. It was an assumption presented as fact, and it was embarrassing. What made it even more absurd was watching Geneva continue to serve patrons who were clearly intoxicated while I sat there with a glass of water. So here's the takeaway: Don't go in twice in one day. Apparently that alone is enough to get treated like you've been drinking all over town. After this experience, I won't be going in on any day. I hope the staff can handle situations like this with actual communication instead of jumping straight to conclusions.

ABC store where they can get some needed beverages to help them enjoy their vacation. This ABC store looks rather new in appearance, just off Hwy 130/Holden Beach Rd, on the mainland just outside Holden Beach going towards Shallotte. It had a good amount of parking and a nice facade, with well marked signage on the road as well. Upon entering, this store appears clean and well stocked with alcohol/liquor/beverages as well as good organization as my friends found what they needed quickly. When they got to the register for checkout, the staff were personable, positive, and helpful. This ABC store near Holden Beach does the trick...clean, organized, stocked, and good interaction with staff.

With the move, they also have a brand new, much larger building with ample parking and a turnaround for large vehicles, which I'm betting comes in handy for deliveries. Service is polite, helpful when asked a question, and efficient. The store layout is nice, with American Whiskeys getting two large aisles along the back of the space. There's also a nice Tito's display near the front, on the right as your enter, pretty much on the opposite side of the store from the vodka aisles on the far left. Basically, it's still just an ABC liquor store, but it's a definite upgrade from the previous location. And open just in time for the summer season.
