A big shoutout to the staff at this store! They are amazing, They hunted down and found a wine that we can NEVER find and continue to source it for us. Carter, Zoe, Casey are all so customer focused, and today we had such fun at their wine tasting for Prisoner wines. Made some new friends, and it was fabulous to see so many people sampling and enjoying the wines. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. What a great find. I almost didn't go in, because I thought it was a high end wine store based on how the displays were. Turns out, most of the wine here is very affordable. Not Aldi or Costco prices but still very good. Why is this place different than most? 1) Tasting machine where you can try wines before you buy (at a small cost) 2) Arrangement of the wines. Example, displays for "Dinner party" and other events. 3) Wines brands you will not find at other places in town. Sorry, no Barefoot or 19 Crimes here. 4) Staff is very knowledge and helpful They don't have the selection like a Total Wine, but they do have very affordable selections for any need. I will be back. Love this store and the tasting by card concept. Unfortunately, Covid has put a stop to the tasting option. Still, great selections, spot-on advice, and a passion to not only sell, but also educate folks on wine. I've found that they do have some crossover with large grocery store wines, but it's probably Harris Teeter and others trying to compete with wine options that crossover into what traditional smaller wine shops offer. Very nice store with reasonable pricing. I especially liked the Wine Tasting Card. Bought a $20 card and got 10% bonus. The tasting machines were interesting concept. Using the Wine card, You could taste a small pour of an expensive wine or a large pour of your favorite or less expensive wine. Bought two bottles of Jovino Pinot Noir for $9.99 each. Restaurants charge $35-$50. Will come back with my wife to find out which wines she likes to taste. All in all, a nice experience. read more

We were going to celebrate my grandmas 100th bday at the Osteria next door and stopped by here to try out the wine. The people working there were not forthcoming or friendly at all. We tried on several occasions to ask them about it wines and so forth but they just seemed bothered by us. So we drank all the money on our cards and left. The people there are knowledgeable about the wines but are lacking in personality. The concept is cool thought. read more

Such a fun place to go. This is definitely the place to visit if you're looking for ANY type of wine! They are arranged by white, red, sweet, rose, etc. The wines are sold at the lowest cost possible. The best part is they have descriptions next to each bottle, saying what the wine pairs well with. That made my boyfriend and I purchase several bottles. (Think, "Oh, this pairs well with chicken? I like chicken! Ha!) We will be visiting this place when we run out of wine! read more

Wow, called another Winestore in town, they were snooty. I called this one with a lot of questions about wines. They were friendly, they answered my questions and I chose to go to the store to complete my special order. I was impressed. They have a cool collection of wine. Anyone in Wilmington who has ever been to the Pour Taproom on Front Street (speaking of which, I really do need to get back there), this is the same format but with wine instead of beer. They have two separate places; one to sample a selection of reds, the other for the lesser mortals who prefer white (I'll catch it from my wife for that one!). The sommelier is one of the best and always has a great selection of wines there with a varied selection to sample. The staff are very knowledgeable and NOT wine-snobs; always ready to offer suggestions. If you like wine (even if you are a snob), you have to check this place out. read more

I love wine, but have had bottles of wine that haven't been good. it's made me leary to try new finds. But wine store makes that so easy. You can quickly and easily by one ounce, half glass, or full glasses of different wines they have for sale. It allows you to try just a taste or go with friends and just have a wonderful time trying different wines. I absolutely love the concept and have been back on multiple occasions. The atmosphere is so cute, they have a great wine selection and the location is perfect, but the staff is so rude! After the first time I thought maybe they were in a bad mood or didn't feel like speaking to me so I gave it another try - I went back two more times. As far as I can tell, the low level of customer service is the norm here. I still have money on a wine card that I never plan on using because I don't ever want to return. There are other places in Wilmington that are much warmer and more welcoming with a good wine selection. I will not be returning. read more

This is our new favorite before and/or after dinner spot. They have a great selection if you're looking for something to compliment a meal at home or to take with you to a dinner party. All the wines are labeled with flavors so if you're looking for a particular taste you can easily find it. The staff (MacKenzie and Casey) are knowledge and definitely exemplify a true passion for wine. We have also hosted a private event where they will make the whole store exclusively available for you and your guests. We brought in our own food to compliment the wines available for tasting.
