Just had a huge problem at Harris Teeter Deli. They hire a woman that doesn't understand English. Wasted 35 minutes asking her I wanted Boar's Head yellow American cheese, not thin. Well here she's slicing super thin about 4 times!!! Then I asked for another same order and she sliced a different color cheese and goes on to say it's the same cheese. I had to show her the two cheese were different color. It took her about 35 minutes going back and forth. Then my 15.99 per pound honey glaze turkey was thick and heavy! Great job HT! At the customers expense. I was late to an appointment and missed it. Stop with this kind of hiring. You're not cheap and we deserve good service. Hope Corporate sees this. read more

on December 2 I was shopping at this HT (Waterford in LELAND NC) and the produce man would NOT stop his harassing religious talk. I had tried to shop but instead was preached to about god and marriage and death and all sorts of junk that is NOT needed from a guy in the produce section (Tony). I tried to be nice about it, as he was rather BADGERING and mentally unstable in his rantings. No one needs to have someone Else's religion shoved down their throats. I think I may have to shop somewhere else bc of how repulsed I am. Days later it's still bugging me bc some ppl are hurt by religious people and that memory should NOT be brought back up bc a man in the grocery store can't BEHAVE! UNACCEPTABLE! Tried to use the CONTACT US via the website to find FILE 404. Wonder why?! I spend about $1200-2000 per month at this store, so I think someone else may enjoy my MONEY! read more

I was hesitant to write this review however, after my last visit, I felt I had to do this. I watched the decline of this store (Leland, NC) for the past 6 years and it makes me sad. The vegetable and fruit department is neglected and many time the products are almost rotten or spoiling on the shelves. I have to double check each item very carefully before putting it in my cart. Many of the items are out of stock and you have to inquire as to when it will be available. The staff is friendly but you have to find them first. The checkout lines are long and slow. People groaning and complaining as to why it is taking so long. The town of Leland is growing fast and I'm sure there will be competition. Food Lion is gaining ground and they always have what Teeters doesn't. After today, I have given the food shopping duty to my husband. God help him. read more

Harris Teeter is often my grocery store of choice. This location in particular is a good one. Parking is plentiful here. They also have a HT gas station a few seconds from the actual store. The produce is high quality here, not to mention, the sushi bar is great, the subs are the best, and they have a Starbucks in the store. The store is well staffed and you can always find someone to help you find an item. It is not the cheapest grocery store around, but they have tons of sales every week. It's a treat to shop at Harris Teeter, and since my parents live in Magnolia Greens, it's also convenient when I'm in the area. Based on my experiences with groceries in Brunswick County, I'd rate Harris Teeter near the top of the food chain. It's probably the most gourmet, upscale supermarket between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. That said, with upscale and gourmet comes higher prices. Be sure to get one of their VIC rewards cards in order to save a few bucks. It's worth it. The only drawback I've found is the parking lot. It's on the smallish side and seems to be at or near capacity most times I've been there. This is one popular shopping area. Be careful of other cars and shoppers as you navigate to and from your space. read more

This store is an average grocery with average products. There is usually something available on the shelf that will meet your needs - the brand you have in mind upon entering may not be available but there will be an equivalent. Private Selection is the HT "off brand". It's completely hit or miss. The almonds seemed damp and limp but the salsa is delicious! The hot bar offerings are average. It seems like a nice selection until you go to other HTs in the area. The pizza slice bar at this location is sub-par at best. There is no offer to heat the pizza up for you or to sprinkle on pepper flakes or oregano. I find the produce to be awful. I frequently have to dig through the whole apple bin to find a few that aren't horribly bruised. HT Dairy seems to struggle with yogurts - check any one you pick up for cuts, just like the apples I have to go through container after container to find a few that aren't cut through. All in all, it's an ok store to go to when I need a few non-produce items. read more

Over the past year or so I've noticed that the customer service levels of this store have been on a downward slide. I started limiting my purchases to only what I couldn't easily find at other stores nearby. Unfortunately, the Covid situation took a not so great experience to pretty bad. I have a list of things that have gone wrong over the last few months and, as hard as I try not to by abiding by all the new rules, I seem to hit another with each visit with the most recent being incorrect charges to my card. There has been one consistent, bright light during this time and her name is Megan (excuse the spelling if incorrect). If you have a problem at this store, before you seek out anyone else for help, ask for Megan. Megan has fixed multiple issues that others were not able to comprehend and certainly not address effectively. Where others fail, Megan succeeds. To the management of this store, you need to give Megan a standing ovation for being willing to dive into the mistakes of others and effectively resolve the issues and errors. In addition, add some financial reward by giving her a bonus, promotion and pay increase. Thanks Megan, for making it easier to endure and get through the continual issues that arise with every visit I make. Hopefully management will be able to get things straightened out and back on track so your job is not so challenging, difficult and stressful. I appreciate your continual help. Absolutely blown away! Never stepped foot in any HT before. Just moved here from WV. This store was super clean! Loved that they had a Starbucks. Customer service got me a VIC card quickly. Absolutely loved the fresh salad bar area & hot pizzas!!! Couldn't get over the seafood looking fresh at a great price, can't beat it!!! Loved how I found organic stuff that was budget friendly which was shocking but great!!! Staff was very pleasant. Can't wait to see how the pharmacy is but I'm sure they'll be great as well. read more

The Harris Teeter in LELAND is the grocery store most convenient for my husband and I to shop. We order online and go to the curbside pickup. For the past 6 weeks we've been ordering once or sometimes twice a week and we get calls that many of the items we've ordered they don't have. My diet does not allow me to eat meats or any dairy and I've bought in the past from HT their vegan cheeses which are located in the deli counter. I also buy the pomegranate juice. Yesterday we had to go into the store to pick up our prescriptions from the pharmacy. I decided to check out the products that we ordered and didn't get just the day before. Low and behold ALL the products were there. Every single one. Tomatoes, lemons, cucumbers, vegan cheese etc. I should not go into the store because of my fragile immune system. I'm thankful that the store offers curbside but i can't get the products I need using curbside. Also, people who shop inside aren't wearing masks. The employees aren't wearing masks and those that do wear masks wear it off their nose and mouth. The have it covering their chin. A lot of good that does for anyone. No one should be allowed to enter the store without a mask plus the employees should be wearing masks properly all the time. Very disappointed in the training of employees. FYI we always give a generous tip each time we have pickup. At this point if I have to go in a store I will just go to Whole Foods in Wilmington. They have everything we need. read more

Always great items, especially produce, meat, seafood and deli. Seafood and sub sandwich purchases can add up to either a cash savings or free sub after a number of purchases. Staff are always courteous and friendly. Front end staff gets you checked out quickly and with great courtesy. Numerous discounts and sales, especially Senior Discount Thursday's. Plus, a gas station where your grocery purchase lead to discounts at the pump. read more

I have come here 3 times and each 3 times it has taken them 30 minutes to make one smoothie to-go. The workers are seen just walking around and not working while i sat there and waited for 30 minutes!!!! I would understand if they were very busy but it was not!! This is a great supermarket. I believe there are three levels of supermarkets in the Leland area: Food Lion is the lowest quality, Lowes Foods is middle range, and Harris Teeter is the most gourmet. Harris Teeter has a great selection of fresh vegetables, wide selection of international foods, and has a great overall layout. Once Trader Joes opens in Wilmington I may visit this supermarket less, but I still think it's a great place to shop for your everyday needs! read more

Actually walked out of Walmart without buying produce, fruit and especially deli meats for the week. Produce and fruit was inedible, deli line was 8 people long. Prices on their meats were cheaper (defiantly not better), Harris had fresh veggies (the produce guy is always out there), large selection of fresh produce, actually brought out fresh green beans when I asked. Hate that I didn't get his name and will next time; and the deli, wow! Girl, Audrey, was fast, (bought the Peppermill turkey she suggested I try for salad). Knew the cheese I needed for Rubens. Ended up buying more low fat luncheon meats for the week, loved the Blazing Buffalo Chicken that was on sale and bought it after trying. Honestly, I will never buy produce, veggies, or deli from any other store but Harris. Kudos to Harris in Leland, even your prices beat out Walmart in the fruit, veggie section. Your quality of meat (Boarshead), cheese, and service at the deli, make the price difference well worth it. You have won me over. read more

Went here in search of a new place to eat lunch. This is the first time I have stepped foot in one. I was truly surprised at the varied of foods they have to choose from. A salad bar that has a great variety of items to out on it. A huge selection of different pizzas whole or by the slice. An Asian bar that has a limited selection but is the most popular items. A wide variey of fresh made subs. I am truly impressed with the variety and layout. Will definantly go back. read more

Used to enjoy shopping here but recently the employees are argumentative, and poorly trained. If register doesn't take off discounts for E- Vics, they don't want to be bothered to fix the problem. Signs regarding limits and conditions for getting items at advertised price are not placed in clear view. Last week a CSM was sarcastic after he had to fix an issue at the register. For 100% honesty purposes, I have to admit that I have been extremely disappointed with this the following: this HT location, a good third of the m.o.d staff, the high prices, and the attitude of all employees towards anyone with coupons, especially after this location stopped triple coupons all together. In fact, as a mother of four who uses coupons out of necessity & being budget savvy, since this location stopped triple couponing, I've only gone a handful of times vs at least twice a week as I had prior to the policy change. HOWEVER, the reason for this 5 star review is due to the store manager Jim Widerman, who went so far above & beyond customer service excellence that it not only made me a customer for life (at least of any establishment he is running), but impacted my children to the point that my eldest is still talking about it two days later!! I called to simply to vent my frustration (in the hopes of a mgr/employee conversation being had later) over finding a deli item missing while unloading groceries, with four crazy & hungry children about, and Jim Widerman stopped me mid-complaint to ask for my address, apologize & say that he would personally deliver my missing item!!! My response was shocked disbelief & I explained how his gesture was unnecessary, I only called to vent & was happy to be heard. Yet what did Jim do? Not only did he deliver the deli turkey, but he also included ham, ice cream sandwiches for the kids, a gallon of lemonade, a $5 HT gift card & his business card with two other manager names on it in case there were future mishaps! I know this is a long review but my hope is that the executives at Harris Teeter recognize how impactful & valuable Jim is & will be to their business & success!! It may seem like a small gesture to some, but for a woman at home with four children & a husband working late, his kindness & commitment to his company standards of excellence meant the world!
