He is reliable, knowledgeable, accommodating, and very reasonably priced. His calm, professional demeanor was very much appreciated during all the chaos of moving and coordinating the floor refinishing process. We did have a little issue with the poly in one area but Jay was so gracious in how he handled the situation. I did a TON of research and met with various flooring companies and took a chance on Jay based on the online reviews. (I was almost skeptical because his reviews are so good, but they are a true reflection of his work.) If you need your floors done, do yourself a favor and go with Jay!

The finished product (oil based Mahogany stain with oil based semi-gloss poly) came out amazing. He only uses the best products. Due to the age, softness, and excessive wear on the floors, they spent more time than anticipated sanding. From start to finish it took 10 days. This is not a knock against his service. This to me shows that they do not cut corners and deliver a quality service. He filled holes (we had many), and replaced split/splintered boards. He brought in age/species matched wood from his storage/collection and I cannot tell because they match so nicely. We gave him the keys to the house, and he locked up after work everyday (we checked in every night to see how it was all coming together). He is always available on the phone, and he told me to call him if there were any problems. I am definitely going to use him again when we venture to rip up the linoleum in the dining room.

I found this business here and knew nothing about them but the reviews and pictures were very…read moreconvincing so I gave them a call. I explained it was a small job in a 10x10 room with a closet and the oak floor had been covered for at least 30 years and in rough shape. We discussed some options and I answered all of his questions about the floor and the room and he said, sight unseen, it just needed a sanding and new coat of finish and would cost X and he could come do the job in 3 days and would only take 1 day. With some mild doubt I agreed but bored for the best, we've been screwed by contractors before. The day and time he said he'd arrive he did. He came in, looked at the existing floor, the bad floor and immediately said it would take 2 days not 1 because the existing floor was oil based, not water which I thought it was. I was pissed because now I'm assuming the job would cost twice as much and this already felt like bait and switch. Luis explained the job would overall take less time to do in total, but has to be spread out to allow drying time between 2 oil based coats rather than 2 water based coats and the price would be impacted. I got ready to ask him to leave and he said the price would GO DOWN $75!!! I asked him to repeat himself, he laughed and said rather than spending the whole day doing the floor it was only going to take him a few hours now, and come back tomorrow for another 30 minutes and that's it. Let me tell you how shocked I was at his honesty and professionalism. I'm today's market with inflation and all the nonsense that goes on with shady people Luis and his team were exactly what you'd hope them to be. They did an immaculate job on a really rough floor in the time they said and under budget. If I could give them more stars I would.

Starting in August 24, 2023 Mike called me back with a price for the work I needed done. Him & his staff Sabrina & Bob were absolutely awesome. Fortunately & unfortunately for me when Sabrina & crew came by to lay the floor down my subflooring was rotted & when I asked about the kitchen I was told my dishwasher was placed under the subfloor & if the floor was put in & the dishwasher failed or needed to be replaced (which I was planning on) the floor, countertops & cabinets would have to be ripped out. Wait! What?! Dayum! Wasn't expecting that. Because of their honesty & integrity I later found out that The back room was improperly installed on a wooden deck that is rotting and sinking into the ground so now my back room has to be demolished and rebuilt! UGHH!! And to think all because I wanted a new floor. Soooooo! Now all these months later I'm still figuring out what needs to be remodeled & what actually can be remodeled. Not having fun yet.
