Dr. Cushing is an angel! After a terrible experience putting my one of our cats down at the vet's office a couple of years ago, I really wanted my sweet girl, Lyla to have the most peaceful goodbye possible after 17 great years with her. The moment Dr. Cushing arrived, she was so gentle and kind. The way she did everything was with so much care and our cat had the most sweet goodbye (tuna and all) considering. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an alternative to in-office euthanasia. Thank you so much Dr. Cushing. read more

Making the decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet is the hardest choice a pet owner can ever make, but electing to use Beloved Pet in-home euthanasia service was the best decision we could have made during such a devastating time. From the very first phone call, the Dr. Cushing showed an incredible level of empathy and understanding, taking care of the logistics smoothly so we didn't have to navigate difficult forms or explanations while grieving. When she arrived at our home, her presence was immediately calming and deeply respectful. She thoroughly explained every step of the process beforehand, ensuring we knew exactly what to expect and giving us all the unhurried, private time we needed to say our goodbyes. The entire process was profoundly gentle and entirely painless. Our sweet companion simply and peacefully fell asleep surrounded by love, free from the stress, unfamiliar smells, and anxiety of a traditional clinic visit. Afterward, the doctor provided us with the utmost privacy to grieve, handling our pet's remains with the highest level of dignity and care.I am forever grateful for the immense compassion, grace, and tenderness shown to both our family and our pet during their final moments. For anyone facing this heartbreaking transition, I cannot recommend this service highly enough--it is truly the most loving gift you can give a faithful companion. read more

There is nothing like losing your best friend, but Dr. Cushing made the experience as good as it could be. She was so helpful along the way, when it became clear that our beloved girl was slowing down. When the time finally came, Dr. Cushing was readily available to answer all of our questions, talk with us about what we should expect, and was a great communicator during travel times. On the day of the euthenasia, she was kind, patient, and gentle. She was so caring and made sure that our last moments with our soul dog were beautiful. I can't even thank her enough, and I can't encourage you enough to work with Dr. Cushing when it's your pet's time. We have no regrets--it's worth every single cent to help them transition to death in the comfort of their home and your arms. read more

We recently had to put down our dog Right before Thanksgiving and that's because we knew she wouldn't make it through the holidays without severe health problems. We contacted her and she was able to come in on Wednesday right before the holidays and it was a smooth overall experience. "How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard". Winnie the Pooh. Dr. Cushing was amazing. We decided it was time to say goodbye to our 14-year-old pup. It was a bit sudden and last minute, but she made time, so our beloved dog did not have to suffer through another July 4th. Thank you so much. read more

We scheduled a at home euthanasia with Dr. Cushing for our cat, Micron. I cannot emphasize enough how much we appreciated the kindness and care that she brought to such a difficult moment in time. I can say that while we were nervous going into this moment, when Dr. Cushing arrived at our home both my partner and I felt at ease and calm. This was our first at home euthanasia, but I will absolutely choose this method for my pets going forward. Micron was calm from start to finish, we were able to comfort him on the floor of our living room and feed him treats (salmon!) while Dr. Cushing administered the first anesthetic, and his eventual passing was peaceful. We appreciated Dr. Cushing's flexibility, as she was willing to drive to Cambridge even though it is outside of her typical practice area and was able to reschedule to meet the needs of our pet. We appreciated her kindness and warmth, as she seemed to know exactly when to chime in to offer support or guidance and when to give us the space to say goodbye. It is a hard decision to put down a pet, but we are so glad that Dr. Cushing was there to help us. We would strongly recommend her to anyone else trying to make this hard decision. read more

Last year we suddenly lost our 14 year old pup unexpectedly to bloat. Two weeks later, our other pup was diagnosed with a terminal illness, with a two-week prognosis. We began our own palliative/hospice care, and after a few weeks, it was time to say goodbye. Dr.Cushing came right away to help us say goodbye. As horrible as going through that is, I can't express how wonderful Dr. Cushing was. She came right away, and helped us all, including my other dogs, through the whole thing. Forever grateful. read more

Words cannot express how amazing Dr. Cushing was with on Thursday the 26th of August when we had to put our sweet 15 year old Chiweenie, Koko, to rest. We knew we didn't want to take her to our vet and that we wanted her to be at home, with us. Let me tell you, as humans, it was a lot better for us as well as the dog. As someone else mentioned in here: Dr Cushing explains every step of the way, asking persmission for the next step. She is patient and kind and enjoyed our funny stories about Koko. After she left - with a very digniifed transfer of Koko to her car - my husband and I both said "Oh, I wanted to hug her!" (we are both big huggers!). We sent her an email saying just that. :) Also, as she drove away the number of her license plate are my Angel Numbers! I knew she was an angel anyway but that certainly sealed it. As I wrote to her: One of my favorite authors, Alice Hoffman, says in her book The Third Angel: (paraphrasing) "there are theree angels in life. The Angel of Life and the Angel of Death. And the Third Angel, is the one that walks among us" - That, in a nutshell, is Dr. Cushing. She is one of the angels that walks among us. Jennifer & Patrick M. Always extremely difficult to make that critical decision to end a pets suffering. A few weekends ago, I had to make that choice for my boy, Charlie. Recently, Charlie had to make two visits to the vet, and his condition worsened. Frequent vet visits were going to need to be scheduled likely weekly. Making sure he was comfortable, I took him home for the purpose of giving him lots of cuddles, special treats, and quality time with me and Rascal. Though I knew it would be coming, it didn't make it one bit easier. Especially Charlie, so trusting as he was always, the sweetest most gentle soul. This is my Charlie. I had at-home euthanasia which is the best thing to do, especially for kitties. The vet was extremely kind and understanding, even offering that morning that I could postpone if I was having second thoughts. I had a bad experience previously with home euthanasia, and was very relieved that the process did go smoothly, or the best that such a thing possibly could. I wanted to share Dr. Jennifer Cushing website, and highly recommend her services. read more

We can't possibly thank Dr. Cushing enough. We recently had to say good-bye to our 16 year old pup and decided for at home services. We are so very thankful we did. Sophie was at home with her favorite people, in our arms and very much at peace. The kindness and compassion Dr. Cushing showed us was more than we could have hoped for. She explained everything, reassured us the whole time and never made us feel like there was anywhere else she had to be - we could give extra kisses and snuggles to Sophie before she was taken away in her cozy bed provided by Dr. Cushing. It was a heartbreaking day for us, but Dr. Cushing made it so much easier and more importantly I know it was more peaceful and stress free for Sophie. Highly recommend her services to anyone who has to say good-bye to a beloved pet. read more

We reached out to Dr Cushing as we were referred by a friend who used her services. Unfortunately we are not located in her service area, but she was so kind and not only gave us a few options of service providers who are in our area but she also took the time to text with us for a few minutes and made us feel more confident that the decision we had made was the right one for our sweet baby girl. She didn't have to take time out of her busy day to communicate with us and comfort us, but she did! This showed me that she is a kind and compassionate person. Due to how she treated us I would highly recommend her to anyone who is facing hospice for a beloved pet and the difficult decisions that go with it. read more

I would highly recommend Dr. Cushing's services to anyone needing them. She made an extremely difficult time in our lives that much easier with the passing of our beloved cat, Felix. Dr. Cushing was a blessing that came to us at the right moment to send our sweet Hopie cat over the Rainbow Bridge. At 17 1/2 years old, Hope lived a full and loved life, but due to age and a cancerous mass, declined quickly. We chose to give her the gift of a peaceful departure at home with her loved ones, and Dr. Cushing was kind and professional with a sweet demeanor and patience. She explained every step and Hope went to sleep in my adult daughter's arms (her best friend). We had time to after she passed to pet her, give her kisses and when we were ready, she placed her into a little kitty bed, with a soft blanket over her. She looked like she was tucked in taking a nap. Hope rode in the passenger side of her car to the pet crematorium. While we are heartbroken, we would not have done anything different. Dr. Cushing confirmed that we made a smart decision with perfect timing, catching the opportunity before Hope was in a dire situation. Dr. Cushing turned a horrible situation into one of love and peace. Thank you, Dr. Cushing, from the bottom of our hearts. Love, The family of Hope Orlando read more

It's been almost a yr since Dr Cushing put our girl to sleep. The process (horribly painful of course!) was easy with Dr Cushing. I contacted her once we knew the cancer was terminal, and checked in a few times before making the hard decision that it was time. My kids were present and Dr Cushing patiently answered their questions and explained each step to them. Her demeanor is calm but authoritative, so you feel comfortable knowing she is doing best by your pet. I can't speak enough about Dr.Cushing. Today, we had to put down our beloved 12.5 year old greyhound, Dane. He loved to sleep on the couch and was a huge people lover. Towards the very end of his life, he got diagnosed with cancer and some other issues within. He was uncomfortable at the very end and the last thing we wanted to do was to take him to an emergency vet and deal with the trauma of being in an unknown, sterile location Dr.Cushing fit us into her schedule, quite last minute and around a holiday. She has such a gentle presence and made us feel so comfortable during a difficult time. She remained positive and tried bringing the beauty out of a sad moment. Our beloved Dane passed peacefully under the care of Dr.Cushing and she even provided him a pillow and blanket for his journey out of our home. If anyone is dealing with a time where they have to say goodbye to their fur baby, Dr.Cushing at Beloved Pet will be the best option for peace of mind and comfort. We are eternally grateful for her warmth and care. read more

All the complimentary reviews of Dr. Cushing are true! She gave our beloved dog the most peaceful and pain free passing possible. Our 11 year Boston Terrier named Buster got sick and we had to decide on the best way to help him not suffer anymore. Within a few days of making the heartbreaking decision to euthanize him, we met Dr. Cushing and her calm presence and reassuring explanations eased our fears and anxiety. The entire process was very respectful to our dog and to my family. We were all with him and he went very peacefully. I cannot recommend Dr. Cushing enough! We made the difficult decision to put our 11 year old dog down after she was having congestive heart failure complications. Dr. Cushing called me the evening before our appointment to discuss our dog's health and explain how the process works. The next day, Dr. Cushing arrived on time and again explained the process and walked us through everything that she was doing. Although it was an extremely emotional and difficult process, my husband and I were at ease knowing that we didn't need to stress out our dog any more than we had to by taking her to a vet's office. My husband and I were also more relaxed and were able to get closure by having Dr. Cushing come into our home. Again, I cannot recommend Dr. Cushing enough. read more

Dr. Cushing could quit possibly be an angel from heaven like the animals she blesses with her care. There could not be a better person in the world for this job in my opinion as she is the sweetest, nicest, warmest person i have ever met. My dog Stewie was my best friend and i needed this to be a gentle slow and informative process and i was blown away by how great she was. As i was sobbing she did not rush me even when my boy needed a drink of water none of it was rushed. You are not made to do anything you don't want to. It was the hardest day of my life and was made a little bit easier because of her. She helped my boy become pain free and he left this world with a smile on his face, literally. I have heard some scary stories about vets rushing the process, not being compassionate or not using pain medication, rest assured that Dr. Cushing is the best there is. Unfortunately our American Bulldog was diagnosed with cancer in October and took a turn for the worst over the holidays. We knew it was time so we contacted Dr Cushing. She was very flexible with scheduling and was able to come to our house on a Saturday. It is a strange thing to say that the death of your dog went well, but Dr Cushing was able to provide a pain free and comfortable transition for our old girl. When she arrived at our house, she was very professional and explained the process in detail. She listened to all of our stories about our dog and allowed us the proper time to say goodbye. My sweet 16 year old cat had an aggressive form of bone cancer on her bottom jaw. When it came time to put her down, the regular vet said they couldn't get us in for three weeks. We couldn't watch her suffer so we opted for home euthanasia. We chose Dr. Cushing at beloved pet home euthanasia, and it was a wonderful decision. She treated our sweet cat with so much dignity and gave us plenty of time to grieve her loss. I don't think I could ever convey how thankful my partner and I are for the services provided by Dr. Cushing. Our beloved cat, Steve, was diagnosed with oral cancer earlier this year and he deteriorated quickly. Steve hated being in the car and we're so thankful we found Beloved Pet Home Euthanasia to be able to give him his final moments at home. She explained everything so patiently, gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, and really conveyed that she took her role as guardian for Steve's body very seriously. She even had him sit in the front passenger seat in soft little cat bed. With her, what I thought would be one of the worst days of my life was peaceful, with lots of tears, and even a few laughs. We can't thank you enough, Dr. Cushing. Our dog's health had been declining steadily for several months and we knew his time was coming, but we were extremely anxious about making plans for his passing, especially in the time of Covid and the restrictions many veterinary hospitals have implemented regarding visitation. When that heart wrenching time comes to part with your best little boy, Bruiser, we were devastated - you are never prepared. We knew that we didn't want his last moments to be driving in a car and at the cold, unsympathetic animal hospital, we needed to have him with us, comforted and loved until the very end. We reached out to Dr. Cushing late and she came the following day. She provided me one of my final wishes, that my boy would not be frightened and would pass peacefully and in my arms with kisses and love - (the other wish was for more time with him, that was impossible). Dr. Cushing truly feels empathy for each and every situation, that makes her very special.
