Belmont Auto Clinic was a lifesaver for me today!! I was very upset to find out I had an (extremely) flat tire this morning. After a very kind bystander with a compressor aired it up for me (he's also a lifesaver!), I searched for a place I could take the tire to have it looked at. I noticed Belmont Auto Clinic had great reviews, so decided to take it here, and I'm so glad I did! Tony and his crew member took a look at it right away, found the culprit (a pesky giant nail), and patched it up. They also did it free of charge which was so incredibly kind!! Tony and his shop are very neighborly, and I really appreciate their kindness during my rough day today. The reviews are great because they really are great! I will definitely be back (: read more

I love this place so much! Tony treats us like family and always gets things done in a timely and professional manner. He is always upfront about pricing from the get-go and there are never surprise fixes. He even had one of his guys come out and jump my car (I live super close) and bring it to his shop for repairs so I wouldn't have to pay for a tow company. Very honest and hard working guy. Love supporting a Chicago small business like this. read more

We all have bad mechanic stories, right? Well this is not one of them. We were very happy with the friendly service and honesty (yes, you read that right) of this mechanic. They didn't end up charging us for two consultations for issues that were determined to be better handled at a dealer. It's been a while since I got a free consultation at a mechanic. We'll go there again if we have car trouble. read more

Avoid this mechanic. I brought my car here after experiencing white smoke from the engine that I was convinced was a blown head gasket. Mechanic said that it was my ignition coils so recommended changing ALL SIX which was unnecessary but I went with their diagnosis. Still had same issue and brought it straight back for them to tell me I had a leaky injector to replace that was causing the problem. Mechanic insisted it wasn't the head gasket, despite the smell of coolant and white smoke. Came back for third time less than a week later with the same issues and they checked the work under warranty they already did, replaced two ignition coils, and still insisted it wasn't my head gasket. Drove away and the same issues persisted after a large bill. Took it to another mechanic and they diagnosed it within the first 10 minutes of me explaining the symptoms. Second shop did the work at a reasonable rate and they were shocked by work performed by Belmont Auto Clinic. Overall, could have saved a lot of money by not going here in the first place. Prices are very high for quality of service. read more

Tony is always so helpful and fair. He is also prompt! He is very easy to work with and doesn't sell you anything unnecessary.

Had my catalytic converter stolen so I reached out to Belmont Auto Clinic along with 4 other places in the area. The quote I received from them was much lower than the rest. Took it in the same day I called and picked up my car the next day. It's been about 2 weeks and no issues have come up. This was about as smooth of a process I've ever had with any car troubles. They were extremely easy to work with, transparent, and very affordable (their quote was $300 cheaper than the next highest). Hope my car troubles are behind me but if anything else arises I will for sure take it back to Belmont Auto Clinic. Highly recommended! read more

I want to thank Tony and his partner (I didn't catch his name) for being so nice to me. Did a diagnostic for me on my Aztek. He said what was wrong and the price which was WAY cheaper then I expected.. I authorized the work and met a new furry friend Max! I was also offered hot tea and coffee. They were fast and efficient. My car runs better then before and was offered free jump service if ever needed. They are awesome!! Best experience I have had at an auto place! read more

Belmont Auto Clinic - Auto Repair Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I came to the the Belmont Auto Clinic to get a brake light changed. I first went to Firestone and they tried to charge me $100 to replace it ‍. I was having a rough day and when I pulled up I was greeted so kindly by a man whose name I did not catch. He was so welcoming and said they could totally take care of the brake light. They generously wiped some scuffs off my car and changed the brake light in a matter of minutes. They must have felt my frazzled chaotic energy and said it was free of charge! This experience made my day and renewed my faith in humanity 10/10 HIGHLY recommend :) read more

Still the best mechanic in the Chicago area. Tony will give you a free diagnostic where as most shops charge you a fee. Straight up guy with no BS. Come check them out. Update 6/21/20 Brought my sisters car (2012 Honda Pilot) to Tony and great service as always. Always professional and straight up guy. My sister and I will be back in the future. read more

Belmont Auto Clinic is the best! I have used them three times now and I won't be going anywhere else. When I needed a repair on my car and I initially received a very expensive quote from a different mechanic. Luckily I went through Belmont Auto Clinic instead and they saved me over $1500. Tony and Jose are the best - I definitely recommend them for all your car service needs! read more

I've brought my car to Belmont Auto Clinic for a few different issues (rack and pinion replacement, steering pump replacement, wheel bearing, intake gasket) and everything has been taken care of properly. The costs are pretty low and they work quickly, but they really seem to know what they're doing. I've had to take my car back once or twice to have something tweaked after a repair and there have never been any complaints. Tony actually took 2-3 hours today to double check an install after it wasn't steering correctly, at no cost. I'd definitely recommend stopping in. My only complaint is they forget to turn off the Open sign on Sundays from time to time, and I forget they're closed and stand there like a jack-a-ninny. And that's more on me. read more

Yep, they're stuck with me! I won't go anywhere else and I was beyond happy and grateful for their wonderful service. Treated me with respect, kindness, and honesty. read more

I have reviewed this shop before, but I feel the need to provide an update. Repairs shops might not have the best reputation because of some bad apples. However, Tony and his staff know exactly what they are doing. In the vehicle repair business, the customer has to be patient, because vehicles are complicated, especially with new technology. Someone who posted a bad review here clearly doesn't understand the complexity of vehicle repairs. Also, some customers don't take care of their cars so when an honest mechanic like Tony tells them the truth, they can't handle it. They jump to conclusions. The one bad review here on yelp is due to a user who does not understand the nature of vehicle repairs. Do you want it done correctly? Do you want to save lots of money by avoiding the dealership? Then please give this shop a chance. Or you can go to a dealership and pay twice as much. This shop runs efficiently, so the savings are passed on to the customer. read more

This place is a gem. Very kind and good mechanics who will take care of you without trying to rip you off. I truly appreciated both my experiences with them, which took very stressful situations and made them not stressful at all. read more

Tony is attentive and does great work. He cares about serving the community and truly being the neighborhood go to guy.

My brother in law recommend Belmont Auto Repair to get my AC unit looked at after going to two other places that could not figure out what was wrong. My AC was blowing hot air after a recharge. It would come out cold then hot after 5min. Tony looked at it and dignosed the problem in a couple of hours. He contacted my extended warranty and made it painless as possible. I highly recommend this place for all your auto repairs read more

Great place!!! Honest, friendly and professional people. We took our car for general maintenance and brakes it was very affordable.

Amazing service! I took my Ford Explorer to get fixed for a water pump issue I have never met an honest mechanic before I had bad experience with other mechanics, and over charge me. You will not be disappointed and I highly recommend this place to get your car fixed. And thank you Tony for your service! read more

I've got my rotors and pads changed here. Professional and honest owner. Clean office. Fair prices and free coffee :)

A disrespectful and unprofessional place of business. Initially, the owner lured us in by saying he was an "honest" guy, and that the wheel bearing replacement would only take 4 hours. We agreed on a good price and dropped the vehicle off the following day. As soon as we dropped off the vehicle, the owner said that they actually needed the car overnight. We picked up the vehicle the next day, which at that point, he tried to charge us $100 more than we initially agreed on. We called him out on it, and he honored our initial agreement. As soon as we brought the car home, the breaks stalled and 3 emergency lights came on (ABS system, VSA system and power steering control). I took the car in immediately, which he then told me one of the ABS sensors needed to be replaced. Not sure why he failed to mention this initially? When we asked why the sensor failed their test, the owner could not give us a straight answer. He kept telling us to "stop worrying", and that "everything is fine". The owner continually brushed off our questions with extremely lengthy and unclear explanations that didn't answer any of our questions. He insisted the fix would be a quick 15 minutes. We took the car in the next morning, only to be told that they needed to order a different replacement part. It took over 4 hours of waiting for them to tell us that the initial replacement part did not work. All we wanted was a clear explanation of what to anticipate, yet he kept telling us that we were "being impatient". An extremely rude owner, and I would not recommend anyone bringing their business here. read more

I went to Beaumont auto clinic with my friend he did services on his car They have great service and great deals they're very friendly very clean shop their recommend it to friends and families read more

I just had an inspection so, although I can't speak to the quality of the work (yet), I can speak somewhat to the character of the folks running it. The experience was great. I brought in a MB SUV with an odd electrical issue that seemed like it was related to a battery or a starter. The battery was only 7 months old and had checked out okay at my local AutoZone, so I was bracing myself for a bigger expense (e.g., starter). I found Tony and Belmont Auto Clinic through a yelp quote, was a bit concerned they had few reviews, but with a free inspection I thought what the heck. Within 30 mins of the inspection, Tony called me and told me the battery was bad. No charge. He was honest about the issue, and because of that, they've won a repeat customer. Wanted to share this with you all. Thanks! read more

lied to me, this tony and his owner were rude and aggressive. tried to rip me off for hundreds of dollars.

New amazing very reasonably priced shop... we took a couple vehicles in for service here in the last year & BOTH times the work was the cheapest than all of the other estimates & repairs were completed even earlier than what was told to us.
