After years and years of searching for a dependable auto repair shop where you don't have to make an appointment!! I must say I found it in L&T Auto Service!!!!!!! I was having issues with water gathering inside my vehicle on the floor, but I couldn't determine exactly where it was coming from. I called other shops but they wanted me to make an appointment because they were booked up. L&T told me to bring the car by and they would look at it when they got the chance. One quick experience but it was solid. Just needed someone to do a quick headlamp swap. One of those things you could figure out how to do yourself but you know if you run into a problem you'd rather have someone who has tools. I called around and got quotes for $60 nearby from a chain! Called L&T and he said that I could swing in right now and that cars vary a lot on how accessible the headlight is but that he guessed on a price and then said he'd tell me as soon as I showed up how much it would be. I pulled up and he walked out to meet me. He took my part that I had ordered, confirmed that I got the right one, did the swap in 2 minutes on his own, and charged me an even lower price than we quoted on the phone cause he said it was fast and easy. Friendly and to the point guy. Shook my hand and said he's happy to take a look at anything else any time. Definitely a local neighborhood guy who's just packing cars in but that's what I prefer to some of these national chains. Will be back when I need him. read more

He identified a number of additional concerns and respected my decisions to have some of these (filters, battery, brakes) tended to in my home town. What an honest and kind service Johnny gave me! I went to the car shop before their opening time by mistake and Johnny walked to my vehicle to check it. I was concerned about not passing the emission test due to the dash lights being on. Johnny took the time to explain why that was happening and determined that there was nothing wrong with the car. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I can't really say how their work is, but the prices seemed reasonable. I made an appointment to drop my car off weeks in advance. When I dropped the car off I said I would be back in a week and I was told I would receive a phone call with an estimate later that day. Two and a half days later I was still waiting, so I called L&T and was told that they took other cars before mine because I was going to be gone for a week. Four days later and I STILL hadn't heard anything by the time I came back to town. I called L&T and was then told about a family death and IT problems with their computer. Johnny told me he'd call me right back. Two hours later, still no phone call. I called again and finally got an estimate. I was told the car would be ready the next day. When I went to pick up some keys in the vehicle that I needed the next day, I was told the tires still needed to be aligned but the car would be ready first thing in the morning. By 11:30am I had heard nothing. Johnny told me he was "on his way to go get the car." I walked over to L&T an hour later and still had to wait another hour for him to return since he took my car elsewhere for the tires to be aligned. When I later asked where the tires were aligned, Johnny refused to tell me. He kept mentioning family problems -- not sure why that means he can't tell me where my wheels were supposedly aligned. It was all very unsettling. Overall my vehicle was with L&T for 9 and a half days even though I had made an appointment weeks in advance. The lack of professionalism was extremely frustrating. I had to call several times and chase Johnny for answers. Even though there are several guys working there and I had dropped the car off on Tuesday morning (after they showed up past the 9am open time) it still took all that time to get anything done. I did not ask questions about the family issues, but overall the endless excuses, phone calls that were not returned, and incorrect estimates of when the car would be ready were very frustrating and caused me to miss work and a doctor's appointment. Not sure what the purpose of an appointment is if it takes 9.5 days to get your car back. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

As someone who knew nothing about cars and gets into a fair amount of fender benders I was extremely intimidated to find a trustworthy mechanic.
