I love this place. I go there everytime I need my hair blow dried and flat ironed straight. They take a little long but, that's ok I'm paying less than I would at a regular Salon. Toured the school with my friend that wants attend, as well checking out for my twin daughters- and was very impressed. Friendly admissions, super helpful financial aide staff to answer questions. Met a Master Esthetician teacher (Layla?) and she was so motivating made me want to come to class!! Manny in barbering also super friendly and informative. We have visited other area schools and none were near as nice. Definitely a top contender when making the final decision. read more

I loved my experience in this academy. I got a HAIR CUT THAT IMMEDIATELY WAS COMPLIMENTED UPON AS LOOKING GREAT. IN FACT IT WAS SAID THAT IT WAS THE BEST IN A LONG TIME. Cassandra is the student who has given me three hair cuts to date... fantastic person and very willing to share her knowledge about hair growth, patterns, and differences in types, etc. The cost is great and the place is peaceful. I had read some poor reviews about Bellus so I was skeptical about the Groupon I had purchased. I was amazed as I walked in the building. It was lovely, it was clean, it even smelled clean. The people (students and staff) were pleasant and knowledgeable. My husband and I had appointments for massages. We waited in a lovely and comfortable lounge just a few minutes for our technicians. My husband was taken first. I ran into a little trouble. Because of a previous medical medical condition the studio was reluctant to give me a massage. And I could understand their hesitation and their caution. A young man came to explain the problem to me. He was quite gentle, apologetic and showed concern for my feelings. We determined that if I contacted my doctor and with doctor approval I could get my massage another day. In the meantime, my husband was taking his massage so I waited for in the main salon and was able to observe the comings and goings of customers, students and staff. Customers were greeted and treated cheerfully. Staff was in abundance and seemed to be aware of everything that was taking place. Students were well groomed (for the most part) and friendly. I noticed that many sported tattoos but I guess that is the style these days. After an hour my husband joined me. He said he was happy and on a scale from one to ten he rated his massage a 10! It was obvious from the way we were treated that people cared and were sorry that they could not give me my massage. So I will look forward to bringing my doctor's note and being able to enjoy my massage. read more

I came in for a promotional special for military spouses. I was so excited because I have not had the time (stay at home mom to a 9 month old) nor the money to get my hair cut. The offer was for 2 services free. I chose a hair cut and eyebrow wax. The wax was awesome. She did exactly what I wanted and always kept me informed on what she was doing. It was a way better wax experience than where I normally go, so yay! Now haircut time. When the gal sat me down she asked what I wanted then scurried off to get her instructor...15 minutes later they return. The instructor quizzed her on what she was going to do and how she was going to do it. She had NO idea. She was very confused and hesitant about a simple trim and bang cut. She started to comb out my hair and I noticed she was shaking, YES SHAKING. Every 5-10 minutes she would go get her instructor and ask questions or have him even it out. Then comes the bang cut. I wanted side sweeping bangs that weren't too short. Well i got a blunt, straight, awkward chunk of bang, it looks like a 5 year old cut it. So im a bit peeved to say the least. I was also there for 4 hours! I had not planned on it being that long...not even close. I actually had to skip the style part because I had to get home to my son. All in all, I will go back to get my eyebrows waxed and maybe try a massage or something, but as for ANY hair service, NO WAY. At least it was free and I only wasted time, not money. read more

The absolute worse possible place to get your hair done ever!!!!! Three times in a row the person did not show up and I was put with a new student who had no training whatsoever - his or her first time on the floor. The instructor spent two seconds explaining what to do and never came back to check. The experience there is like a nightmare in Hell! I gave them the benefit of the doubt but I paid too high a price for it in the end. If you ever complain about the cost of getting your hair done in a regular salon just go here and you will never complain again! read more

The students here are very excited what they do. You can tell that they are taught by good teachers, and have an happy environment. I have gotten my hair done here and the student did a good job. They teacher was there to correct any corrections or questions that she had. I also, treated myself to a facial. It was wonderful!!! The school has an amazing line call Krestin Florian that is normally found in only 5 star resorts. The facial was calming and refreshing for a school environment. I recommend this place if you don't have a lot money and want to treat yourself, this is the place to go. read more

I go to bellus as a student, i don't know how the other teachers at bellus teach but the esti teachers will just sit there on there desk and eat, complain and when i mean complain any subject is talked about but teaching and learning. I love the program but i strongly feel the teachers need to be reevaluated. Yesterday had to be the worst day for me when i was done with all my work and i had put my head down and another teacher came in and smacked the desk so close to me., i understand no teacher wants to see that., it was more about how she handled the situation i thought it was the wrong approach., which is why I'm hoping the owner of the school will consider doing students now and the future a favor and to hire teachers who actually love to teach and have patience instead of just going to get a paycheck. read more

I have been to Bellus Academy twice for a facial with Lyndsay L. She is so professional and GIFTED when it comes to skincare and her massage technique is fLAWless. My skin felt so TIGHT and was GLOWING after each treatment, i couldn't help but look at myself in the mirror all day. I'm serious, I looked GOOD. During the massage portion of each treatment i meditated and was able to reach a zen-like state of mind where I felt I was a bird flying through a forest of giant Redwoods. Rude and condescending instructor...He could not follow the lines of a bang trim...the student took over and was of course worse so he came back...then he made it worse..I said my hairdresser uses a different way of cutting..more like a razor cut to get the effect..and he says "Well we teach the right way here," My hairdresser has been cutting hair for 30 plus years..I just was not in the area at the time. Save your money up and when you have it take it to a real hairdresser. read more

Awesome deal, while I waited for my mom to get done with the facial I sat in the waiting room and it was super nice. The music was super relaxing and soothing. First of all, I love Bellus, I love everything about Bellus. One thing that needs to be know for all of us, the GROUPON has changed!!! I got one story, my friend got another so be sure read the small print carefully as our vouchers differed. One person has to use the entire amount of the voucher per visit, no left over credit!! She was told she couldn't even use hers, then why did they let her buy it? (She was able to after all) All in all, the Groupon is changing and not sure if it will even be offered again. If my friend hadn't told me, she had an earlier appointment, I would have been hopping mad!! Since I had been warned I was able to tack on another service at the last minute. So after that is cleared up, Bellus is a great affordable (even without a Groupon) for massage, facial, hair, etc. Do your self a favor get some pampering. Yes, students do the work but they are supervised and they truly want to please you. If something isn't what you like, just say so and they will do their best to make you happy. But the guy at the front desk- I'll update the names needs to stop making fun of and talking about clients behind their back. He acts like he owns the place. If he did, he can use some of the services (SMH) Anyways- Overall good people, working hard to earn a decent career! Some of them have really good work ethics but when they hang with that looser front desk guy! They can get a little crazy. Some people are SUPER NICE and go out of their way! I was at this place last week for color & highlights. The girl that work in me was sweet and worked hard however the color didn't turn out good .. At the check out They charged me more than actual salon price for a service that took all day and wasn't successful..!! I asked if I could speak with the manager and see if they can help !!! Since I didn't have enough time to stay the manager Matt was a total disappointment he was rude, unprofessional, lots of attitude and didn't even took a few minute to come and and talk to me face to face !!! I will NOT recommend this place to anyone ..!! It's time consuming and very costly!! I could have this service professionally in a timely manner !!! However, in the past year I have been getting calls 1 hr before my massage appointments to tell me my appointment is cancelled. The student did not come in. It takes me 3-4 weeks to get an appointment and 80% of the time it is cancelled. This is happening more and more. read more

I went here for an all over hair color and haircut. This is something that would usually take 2 hours at a professional salon. However, I wanted to save money and see what Bellus was all about. I made an appointment a few days prior for 5:30 PM on a Thursday. When I came in, I was greeted by the student would be doing my hair. She was very sweet and thorough, and explained everything to me as she did it. However, I was there until almost 10:00 PM. Every step was a drawn out process, so expect this because the students are learning. Their instructor comes over to verify the steps they are taking and to make sure they're doing everything correctly. I only paid $40 total for color, a haircut, and blowout. I think this is very reasonable for a "professional" service. I wasn't prepared for how long it would take, which is why I'm only giving 4 stars. Overall, I would go again and would even like to try some other services. They offer student, military, and senior discount! read more

Awesome haircut both times by Emily. Kind of surprised at the negative comments about how long it takes to get your hair done, it's a school so you must be patient with the extra time it takes. This students work hard at learning their craft. Both times I have gone in Emily's instructors have been awesome at giving her advise and she is extremely talented. I alway leave a nice tip because she works hard and I love my hair. read more
