Bellizzi tree service has removed several trees from my parent's rental home in the San Jose area. All work done has been the utmost in safety and cleanliness. Chris is very easy to work with and has excellent communication via email or text. He was very respectful of my elderly parents, the renters, and neighbors. I do not live in the area, so I needed a company I could trust and that is Bellizzi Tree Service. I highly recommend them for any large or small tree work that needs to be done. read more

The quote was competitive, the guys were on time, fast, and neat. They ground up the cuttings for mulch rather than leaving them on the street for the city to collect, which is a plus. read more

For the second year in a row I've had firewood delivered by Bellizzi and it's been a good experience each time. They delivered 1/4 cord for $175 to Los Altos, and an extra $25 to stack it on our wood rack. It is a mix of seasoned hardwood, and it burns nicely in our fireplace. They are easy to communicate with using text messages in particular. read more

We had a great experience with Bellizzi. Chris is extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job. We had pruning done on several different trees. Chris made some good recommendations and corrected poor pruning that had been done in the past. Our yard was cleaned up and everything put back in place. The debris was neatly placed in the street for city pickup. We will absolutely use Chris again. read more

We had to get a plum tree stump removed and a lemon tree removed. Luis came out and was punctual (arrived right at the start time), efficient, careful (even took steps to protect our new pavers leading to the back yard), and amicable. He also helped me think through a rototilling job I was about to undertake and tested the soil for me. Great guy. Bellizzi tree service literally got the job done within a day of the request, did a great job, and offered the best price. Not sure what else to say other than I will have them on my phone as my Number 1 Tree Service. Many thanks! -Randy read more

Yelpers - AVOID this place if you don't want to sit around ALL DAY WAITING for him to NOT SHOW UP in the end! I would've given it 0 star if I could. We were trying to make an appointment with him, who pushed for a 9AM - okay no problem, I even MOVED A CONFERENCE CALL to accommodate. Then received a text at 9:10 saying he will be late. No mentioning of how late but ok we planned to wait for another 10 minutes. We understand traffic and are reasonable people. Checked with him again at 9:35 ish, he said 10AM eta. Excuse me?? Please see the photo I'm posting that has all the time stamps I'm mentioning. Owner, if you are reading this, please be respectful of other people's time as well. We cannot sit around waiting for your arrival all day long. read more

Unable to get a callback despite promise of "call in a bit" and "call in 5" (see attached exchange). I guess I need to reinterpret "call in a bit" as not any time soon, and "call in 5" as not in 5 min (what most people believe) or even 5 hours. Maybe he meant 5 days or 5 weeks? I don't think so, and what would be the point then? So, easy communication and reliable as other reviewers stated was not my experience. All of us can get distracted by something and lose track, but consecutive failures like this even at the start doesn't bode well. So, it's a non-starter for me. I'm still trying to be respectful and thus whited out their mobile number in the picture, but there's no mistaken identify. Person identified as representing Chris from Bellizzi. read more

I have bought a half cord of wood from Chris of Bellizzi tree service two years running now. The wood is of excellent quality, is a good mix of hardwoods, is properly cured, and is fairly priced. Chris can be a little tough to reach sometimes but I have found that he'll typically return texts . His delivery crew is reliable and prompt. I have not had any tree work done by Chris but if and when I do he'll be the first person I call. read more

My neighbor's pine tree branch broke off into our drive way. I saw some workers cutting off tree down the road and asked for them to remove the huge branch on my driveway. The old Magnolia tree in our front yard ended up having one of it's larger limbs snapping, falling on top of another limb which also snapped, and blocked our driveway. I reached out to several companies on Yelp to see who could help, and Bellizzi Tree Service came through for me with the best price/quality/timing combination of the competitors. They came out just when they said they would, and promptly began work shredding the fallen limbs, pruning the old tree to ensure this happen again, and even took an on-the-spot request from me to take down another 20 ft. tree next to my house before they left, at a very reasonable price. When the cutting was finished they then proceeded to clean up the yard and remove all of the wood/leaves from their work. On time, no complications, solid pricing, and a very clean operation. 10/10 would look out for them for future tree work. read more

Our oak tree broke off and half of it fell. We called bellizzi and Chris came the same evening. He was very thorough and patiently explained the problem. He concluded that the tree needed to be removed. He gave us instructions on how to get the permit done. Was very helpful. Bellizzi tree service cut down two large Oak trees for me; one in the front yard, and one in the back. It would have been catastrophic if either one would have fallen on their own. both times they arrived when they were scheduled to. Their work was good and they made a good effort to keep things neat. It would have been very difficult to move the downed wood to the front, so they stacked the rounds neatly, and made2 large burn piles for me. They do good work. , read more

They have competitive pricing. They're really busy, but so is every tree service these days. The owner is reachable via text, and can do both the estimates and the work without you being home. I had a jacaranda in front of my house that probably hadn't been maintained since the 1970s. It had grown to the point where it was beating against my eaves and was dropping all sorts of twigs in a slight breeze. As I wanted to install solar, the tree needed care in a tight timeframe with roof repair. Even with COVID and the fires, Chris was very communicative re: scheduling. I very much appreciated that he was concerned for the health of his crew with the heatwave and the smoke, and that he knew that I had some concerns that we would miss my date. We didn't - the team kept the commitment while meeting several other emergency calls. Once on the job, they were very respectful of my home and property. They clearly knew what needed to be done with the tree, and set to work right away. They were careful and methodical with their cuts, they pulled potentially damaging branches via rope so they would fall in clear areas, they immediately chipped everything, and they left no debris. They even swept the sidewalk and the street clean of sawdust. I'll definitely call them again for future work around my house. read more

We recently had tree service needs on our Campbell property, with a large cedar and a podocarpus. I'm happy to say that neighbors and friends directed me to Chris. He and his crew did a great job! His depth of experience is evident. While certainly concerned with tree health and safety, he also has a great eye for shape and balance. He is awesome to work with, and his pricing is very fair. This business provided an excellent service at the time of great need. We were waiting for weeks for another tree survive business as they kept having more important emergencies and canceling our appointments. With Bellizzi Tree Services we had Chris come out on the same day. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. That very night he started working on branches that were critical due to the storm, to make sure our family was safe. The next morning his crew was here to finish the job in a courteous and safe manner. They even made sure to protect all the outside furniture and clean up everything at the end of the job. Bellizzi tree service removed a dead Monterey pine tree about 45 feet tall from our backyard using a crane because It was relatively tricky tree removal due to the tree's location about 6 feet away from an art studio. This only took about five hours and even included grinding down the stump! So we now have plenty of gorilla hair mulch from stump. awesome job Highly recommend this company. The workers cleaned up wonderfully and the neighbors were so glad no one got hurt as we had to get crane access from the neighbors driveway for this relatively dangerous job with chainsaws and a crane. All around a great experience. read more

We started using Belizzi Tree service 10 years ago for a massive pine tree removal. He was fast, reliable, and reasonably priced. We continued to call on Chris for regular trimming of our trees and we recently moved to a home with enormous overgrown Oak trees. We called up Chris and he came out with a team and we're here for two full days. What I love about the Belizzi team is that they don't just hack the trees away. They keep an eye out for balance and keep esthetics in mind. We will continue to use their service and highly recommend them for anything from yearly trimming to full removal. read more
