We were greeted warmly by Kira Teppola, who now carries on the legacy started by her father, founder David Teppola. From the moment she began sharing her family's story -- from her father's early fascination with French wine to his pioneering belief in the Willakenzie Loam soils -- we were captivated. Kira's knowledge of the land, the vines, and the winemaking process was extraordinary. Her enthusiasm was contagious; we hung on every word and felt truly connected to the spirit of Laurel Ridge. Even the family vineyard dog, who was initially a bit cautious, became our friend by the end of the visit! The wines were exceptional. My favorite was the 2017 Barrel Select Pinot Noir, beautifully balanced and expressive of the terroir. We enjoyed it so much we opened a bottle that very night. The next day, I couldn't stop thinking about the bright, refreshing 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, so we went back just to buy more! Kira graciously set us up with a picnic table outside under a heat lamp so we could enjoy lunch overlooking the estate -- and even poured us a little more wine "so we wouldn't get thirsty." It's rare to find a place that feels this genuine -- where every glass tells a story, and every detail reflects generations of care. Laurel Ridge isn't just a winery; it's a living family legacy built on passion, perseverance, and love for the land. If you're exploring the Willamette Valley, don't miss this place. Staff all very knowledgeable and good at telling the story of the wine. A disappearing breed of the family owned vineyard. Its charm and feel ooze with comfort and tranquility in a spot above the highway. Great staff include but not limited to Marcus, Robyn and Jay recognize members by name and make it even more cozy. On this day they had a chucuterue board well stocked and rotated through the day. A selection of desserts and Portland wine. Really a more welcoming spot would be hard to find. Oh and it was Coopers birthday. The dog of the vineyard. Wines are tasty and small batch. Mostly to their loyal members. Great Pinot which are aged and ready. 2014 and 2013 are my current favorites. This was our last stop on our Sunday trip and the wine and sunset did not disappoint. This…read morespot didn't even show up on my Apple Maps, but we saw the little blue sign and gave it a try. It was very affordable ($15 tastings are hard to come by now!) and the wine was good. The gewürztraminer was a little funky-- and not in the usual way lol-- but not bad. I got a couple bottles of the Riesling. The gentleman pouring was great. He chatted with me a little bit about growing up and picking grapes (son of the owner) and he gave me about 1/2 a bottle of one of his creations to go. It was excellent. We will be back. Space is tight indoors, and had it been cooler we would have sat outside (ample seating). Pretty quiet when we went, but that could be the holiday. Altogether a great find.

Walked in one day and was surprised to see how busy they were. Nothing too crazy, but the standing bar top was full so we hung out at the lower counter on the other side. The man pouring, Matt, was awesome. So friendly and funny, and handled the crowd well. Water and oyster crackers available as a palette cleanser. Their tasting menu and wines are SHOCKINGLY inexpensive. Maybe that's why I was so caught off guard at how good the wine was? He explained to us that they rent out their facilities and machines to other surrounding wineries which pays a lot of their overhead and therefore they don't need to charge absurd prices on their bottles. What a cool concept! Towards the end of our tasting, the crowd cleared out and we were the only ones left so Matt took us on a private tour around the whole facility. It was really awesome to see all the steps of the process, including the bottling/labeling machine which I had never seen before. Went into the barrel room too. The whole place is clean and nice. It was so fun to be shown around like that! He was so great. Even let us taste extra wines outside the tasting menu and a couple straight out of the tap on the holding tank! We bought a few bottles, how could you not when they're this cheap! The Pinot Gris stood out to me as it seemed much fruitier and juicier than what I've tasted before.
